Nope. Get a Solid State Drive. I bought the Corsair Force 3 120GB and GT5 is up to twice as fast in some places. Prizes at the end of races (suits, helmets, money, exp) are instantaneous as fast as I can push the X button, car/paint menus are double quick, loading times are up to double quick, saves are lightning fast.
I actually bought my SSD to fix Skyrim lag — which it did — but GT5 is my game that shows the most speed benefit. I know it's not a solution for everyone, but for those who can afford it and play tons of GT5 like me it's well worth it IMO.
