Games that use SixAxis?

List me some games. :)

I'm not talking about "occasional" use like shaking off a bad guy in Resistance, I mean something more up-front, constantly used.

The only thing I've played so far that uses the Sixaxis at all is Blast Factor. But that requires a more forceful jerk of the controller, I was hoping for something a bit more leisurely, just casually moving the thing around to influence the game.

Is there anything like that out there yet?

Blazing Angels, Motorstorm demo, etc etc use the Sixaxis in the way you're describing. So does Ridge Racer.

I think it is useless in Motorstorm and Ridge Racer. It only works for steering, and its not nearly as accurate/easy to use as the analog stick.

The best use I've experienced is in Call of Duty 3, but its not constant use. You use it to row across a small channel, set charges (fairly often), melee, and several other actions.

I had to dig a bit to find it in Motorstorm, since the main Options menu isn't available at the menu, the option's only in the Pause screen (which I never used until today). First-person view using that is pretty intense.. hehe. It's more difficult to control, but I think I could get the hang of it with more practice.

Online Resistance, too. Although it's not used for gameplay. I think it calls up some stats, or something.

I'm not too worried about 6axis. I never used the rumble, so I ain't missing much.

You'll have to wait a little bit, but in a week or two flOw comes out, which uses entirely sixaxis control, which should be fun.

BTW, if you get the blastfactor addon, the tilt function has been fixed, from less of a "jerk" and you have to be more fluid now, it's a LOT better.

I don't see why more games are not using the six axis like the wii's controller..... What is stopping me turning it sideways in my hand and holding one of the handles and pointing the controller at the TV like a gun and using L1 to shoot..... with the thumb... now that would be amazing! or even machine gun style with 2 hands.......

So far its usage has been disappointing, the game im watching is Stranglehold... I think that has some great potential for some serious use.

All in all im not to pleased with the PS3 at the moment, I was a solid Sony fan but with all these new games being multi platform and most games going to 360 exclusivity its really starting to annoy me! The games on PS3 are nothing special at the moment, Wheres the Gears of War killer game on the PS3???

If you're speaking of Duck Hunt style games, that wouldn't work. You'd need something like a sensor bar for that.

Fall 07 when MGS4 comes out.

That said, I'd prefer 4 or 5 great, solid games (like Lair or Motorstorm or Resistance) instead of one big massive earth shattering AAA game. But that's just me.

There are a good couple of pages in the latest Official PlayStation UK, about SixAxis use on PS3 games. But I will scan those pages later on.

:) Thanks that would be great!

One game which comes to mind is flOw..... well its not a full blown PS3 game but it will be on the PS Store as a download and all it uses is the Sixaxis!

flOw should definitely be interesting. I've been meaning to fiddle with the PC version (I have it downloaded somewhere on my hard drive here). Should be neat to see what it can do on the big-screen downstairs. :)

I haven't been abe to get my sixaxis working in Motostorm, I pause it after the start or just during the countdown & turn on "motion" but it still doesn't steer.

That's definitely weird. I didn't have any problems with mine.

Does the left analog stick still work in that mode? Because when I turn on the Sixaxis control, it disables the left stick, and I can only steer by moving the controller.

Yea even with the motion on I steer with the analog stick like normal.

RR7 can use the Sixaxis for looking around, its too sensitive and just doesn't work well at all/ I can control MotorStorm fine with it.

While some in this thread want the six-axis to be a major part of PS3 games I tend to disagree.

I do not want PS3 to be full of gimicky games that rely too much on motion sensing (wii sports, raving rabbits)

I'd rather have motion sensing be a part of the game, but not the focus of the game. Motion sensing for driving games should be an optional etc. Motion sensing should be used in minigames, or like in TonyHawk where you have to balance yourself. I don't mind a Lair every once in a while but as long as those games dont dominate the market good.

All in all I prefer motion sensing over vibration, as vibration let you feel the game but it did not let you interact with the game. Fighting with someone in Call of Duty 3 using motion sensing is much more tense then feeling a stupid vibration.

And Robin////, dont worry its a matter of time before somebody figures out a real inovative way to use the sixaxis. COD3 figured out how to make it a paddle. MGS4 will be very innovative with it I'm sure.
