So my Raybrig NSX is still not maxing out to the max hp which is allowed. Can I get into another car or maybe look at repurchasing it?

how far off is it? ur PP at 606? my motul autech is at 502hp and with full downforce i only get 604PP.

on a side note, as i've noticed alot of drivers haven't shown up consistently(don't know if they quit or on vacation haha), but maybe try to get on one of the teams.

Hamster I will send you mine. Hope it helps.

Hi guys sorry about sunday was having some difficulties, should be ok for indy.

Nice update , I like it. 👍

A question I have for the championship would be are we leaving the slipstream effect at the default level , for this championship at least as that's what we are all used to ?

I would vote to put it at low. Did some tests tonight and low seems to correlate to what it was before... there is plenty of draft at low. Can't imagine how strong it is at the strong setting. Feel free to test it, but based on my test tonight strong is going to be a joke.

love the update. slower connections are handled much better on the track and in my tests online I found the low stripstream to be way more toned down, IMO what we were running before is more like the strong slipstream setting

I vote to set to low

Ok mate , sounds like a good idea . 👍
Can't imagine why their default setting is stronger now though , I thought the slipstream was exaggerated before the update.

Set to low: +1

So they were supposed to update the physics, do you guys notice any difference in how the cars handle? I'm in favor of leaving the slip stream as is, I need all the help I can get!

They have tweaked the physics yep , well as far I know anyway . There's a thread about it somewhere on GTP .

I've only briefly went online with the joypad with Nascars on racing hard , but it felt smooth , progressive & pleasant to drive . I will do a test with the wheel when I get time , but that might not be today.

I was in favour of the default option at the start , ( Strong , what we've all been used to ) . But I have since tried the low option and it too is much more progressive . It was always concerning to see a GTR coming at me with a tow , the speed boost and speed difference is quite large . So my point is that running the low option could work to your advantage too , it won't be ( as ) easy to be overtaken but the drag reduction effect is still very noticeable . Give it a try in a race & see.... :)

Awesome profile pic by the way ! 👍

BTW, anyone wanna add Spa once it comes out? Maybe as a bonus race!?

+1 👍 I was going to recommend the same thing. Bonus non points race maybe after the final race of the season. I may be skiing and miss that week anyway, but if not I'd love to run Spa in these cars.

Well we agree on the vote so it doesn't matter. But I found the slipstream to be pretty strong still at low. Maybe the old default was in between low/strong?

We were testing for a race this week @ Daytona Road in a different series and on "low" I was able to make up over 1 second on the straight without a better exit from the previous corner. Also had a 10mph increase in speed by the braking zone of turn 1. That's seems a bit unrealistic still if you ask me, but maybe that is how it really works at 150+ mph. We were driving the Jaguar XKR Coupe '10 and not race cars so maybe Super GT cars are different. We didn't even try "strong" after that test as I figured it would just be ridiculous. I'm all for the slipstream making passing a little easier, but not to completely eliminate the skill required to exit a corner early and with good speed.

Is it me or have lap times drastically dropped?

Not so much for me -- at least not "drastically". I tested again at Laguna Seca with the same settings and my times were fairly comparable. I did find it a bit easier to run in the 1'21s even though I never put together a really great lap, but I didn't run any 1'20 laps either. It felt a little more "crisp" if that makes any sense... Either FFB was refined a little or the car just seemed a little snappier -- almost like offline physics, but not quite the speed/grip.

Funny thing was we did a repeat test of the draft for the other series I run and the results seemed to differ this time with the draft not being as strong as it was last night right after the update.

Anyway, back on point. I'm still messing with gears, but my best practice time at Indy Road is 1'28.707 (full tank) so far after just about 20 laps which is about a tenth faster than my practice times before the Indy pre-season race.

What about the rest of you? Any times to report?

I did a quick Laguna test & I can confirm your results WRP . Time wise roughly the same as the race but the car seemed to flow more fluidly and opposite lock wasn't so " Snappy " so to speak.
Thumbs up to PD for the tweak , I really like it . 👍

I'm fine with whichever drafting / slipstream option that we run , as long as Gamesta is happy with it & it consistently stays on a chosen setting for the rest of the season . 👍

I had a quick run at Indy Road and posted a 1.30.xxx , but that was with basic gear & aero tweaks only & on high fuel also . Alot more time will come from my car when I dial out the Laguna characteristics and fix the exit power oversteer .

I think that you GTR guys will get close to the mid 1.25's or 1.26's through the week or somewhere there abouts .

Looking forward to a nice tow on sunday from one of you guys .....

1'26s without draft assistance? Yikes, I've got major work to do. 1'27s I see possible with less fuel.... but who knows... I forgot what the pole qualifying lap was for our pre-season test race. Gamesta's lounge usually makes me a little faster for some reason.

Just a guestimate lol , I don't know what the fastest GTR time will be but I think you GTR boys will run well here.

My head is dreaming about Spa right now so i've probably miscalculated ...

That would be race day adrenaline I think . We always go faster or work harder when other people are watching us etc.

1:27's!! thats gonna take a very skilled driver...I think Indy favours the NSX because of the torque...As for tuning, I dont advise setting the Aero lower than its max..Theres only a 3mph speed difference from the lowest setting to the highest setting...As for going faster in gamestaa's lounge, It definetely makes everyone faster..I'd done 40 laps practise in laguna seca and I couldnt get below 1:20:9xx no matter how hard I tried..come qualifying and I set a 1:20:3xx on my 3rd try...

I won't make this weeks race, someone else will have to take the last place position!

Lol yep , like I say just a guestimate , I presumed the big laptime difference due to the inability of my SC430 to break the 1.30 barrier lol , not a serious estimate . Just set a new time of 1.30.4 , was a really smooth & precise lap too.

Must be Gamestas smooth internet or something , I have no idea for a laptime difference theory in scientific terms . I thought it was just the increased pressure on the day lol.

I'll try out the higher downforce settings & see if my time improves too . 👍

Gamesta's lounge is darn smooth! Not too many series without some glitching right now between disconnects and invisible drivers and so far this one has been great (knock on wood). I think one driver kept coming on and off during pre-race practice last week so maybe that was a DC issue. Anyway, I agree that we owe thanks to Gamesta's rock solid "Canada-class" connection. Much of the US is almost 3rd world in comparison to EU and CA when it comes to internet. Darn Al Gore messed this up when he invented it.

Increased pressure usually leads to slower laps and/or offs for me... just look how I drove when TJ or Terrible were up my "tail pipe" at Suzuka.

Instead, I personally have an unsubstantiated belief that the GT5 physics model has some slight customization triggered based on the network connection of the host.

Q: Why would PD make online physics different?
A: Because they want to simplify/reduce the real time communication requirement between the cars grid... so given that tweak to the model it's not impossible to imagine they "parameterize" that simplification and set those parameter values based on the network conditions.... (pretend you are listening to music from "The Prisoner" as I ramble on with my conspiracy theories)

Gamesta, what are you lounge settings anyway? Race Quality = Standard? Just curious.

I cant make it to the next two races lads...Im really P'd off as I like Indy road....Sorry lads and to team Nissan...I'll be back on the grid in Sarthe...

Yes, it is set to Standard. I would like to Add Spa to the Calender. I also may not be able to attend the race or a portion of the whole race. Still un sure of that if anything I will hold a session to test new settings. I will have more info tomorrow.

So to be Clear the Race is still on. I will know for sure what I can and can not do on Sunday by tomorrow.

Heard a rumor team Nissan had a new recruit which may help to fill some of the point gap left by kk's absence. :sly:

Note: We ran a race today and GT completely messed up the qualification order. The grid order was basically a random shuffle even though we had fastest first selected. So expect the unexpected when the race timer ends and we start on the grid. By the end of the race the fastest will be in the front regardless (i.e. Nepalii).

did a quick run and posted 1284.. car still feels unstable, forgot to write my tune down for this track as pre season i was running 1276 easy. physics definately changed the game, but i'm liking it more this way.

Welcome to the series. Unfortunatley the Yellowhats have been taken any other car you would like to use? the list is in the OP to see what is available. All upgrades are banned except Rigity improvement.
