@killa Are u on gt5 now still practicing?

not any more....Im guestimating that the driver with pole will break into the 1:19's...

I just ran 5 laps and ran 121.2 every lap lol but didnt manage on 1 lap to get down to a 121 flat i dont think there is anyway i will break into 119's i dont see how that would be possible at least not for me lol

Oops i meant i did manage to get 1 lap down to 121 flat thats my best so far
121.043

I'll be testing later tonight or tomorrow , those times are looking good so far .

Anybody done a full distance run yet ? I'm gonna presume that we won't need a fuel stop here.

Interesting Stat Of The Day -
Suzuka x 35 Laps = 126.315 Miles.
Laguna Seca x 35 Laps = 78.33 Miles.

Definately no fuel needed here then lol.

Just with playing with a few figures I expect the race to last 49 / 50 minutes . 20 minutes less than Suzuka .

Also , and obviously this is tyre wear dependant , it's theoretically possible to 1 stop here.....

Have you not grinded it mate ? If not try running it in the GT500 seasonals or get your B-Spec guy to race it.

If you have grinded it , and you should do this after every race anyway - Change the oil , rebuild engine & fix chassis rigidity in GT auto menu.

That will help you with your horsies & laptimes. 👍

Down to 1.23.5 on a controller. Will hook up the wheel later and hope it improves

I think there are 2 spots now Gamesta as Karolisnaste dropped out recently .

I hope we can get closer to 16 racers soon. 👍

Anybody know what happened to Yudha? Is he still in the series with us?

I might be able to pop in this Sunday. Any GT-R's available besides the Woodone?

Well i got down to a 120.9 now cant see much more that i can get out of it lol

wheres my teamie? We missed out Suzuka mate....Can you make it to Laguna Seca?

Anyone on right now practicing?

Anyone on right now practicing?

I was just practising. Got to 1'22.1. Really don't know where I can find any more time. Did a lot of gear adjustments and it helped greatly. Anyone know of any good vids showing the exact best line through this course just so I'm sure I have it.

I'm not sure I'm handling the corkscrew and the sweeper after it correctly.

Yah, those are the two trickiest corners to find the correct line. I'm having issues with those as well.

corkskrew: For now I avoid the very steep inner part which causes spins with RM tires online. Short shift at the bottom to avoid spins especially with older tires. I think I'm a bit too timid to apply the gas. I'm pretty happy with this line for a race, but need a little more risk taking for a quali lap.

Next sweeping left: Not sure if this requires any brake at all. I go back and forth between no brake with a bit of throttle control and a short brake with an earlier application of power. I haven't found the right balance.

I'm at 1'21.7 myself (on full tank of fuel) so I need to find another second somewhere and my guess is this part of the track holds the answer. I know when I ran practice with KingBestJr yesterday (when he ran 1'20.9) I was right on his time through the corkscrew and lost a second+ after that. The last couple turns are pretty obvious, so these two turns are the culprits. I've since shaved about 0.5 off this section, but still have more to find.

KK/Dragon -- you guys typically quali up front -- any tips on a line through these two sets of corners?
TJ -- you setup guru... do you do anything particular with the setup to handle the corkscrew better?

Lol WRP.

So far my best time has been a 1:21.975 , ( On the DS3 ) I'm still in the process of attacking the setup whilst balancing my driving requirements out of the chassis . To find another second or so for me is realistically possible i'm sure , but i'm considering several different factors & i'm not quite near where I would like to be yet.

In terms of ideas for set-up , I would only be able to generalise as i'm not in a GTR & i've not driven one for a while . But I would speculate that having a good spring setup here is crucial . Spinning through the corkscrew is easily done if your setup is too stiff to handle it . Softer settings I find help soak them up , but bizarrely in my SC430 this makes the overall laptime slower . I would've thought that would've been the opposite.

So in terms of setup , I would play with the springs , dampers and ride height for an overall lap time view . If you want to be quick through sector 3 , then why not sacrifice a little time somewhere else in the lap maybe ? Sector 3 will give you a good run at someone on to the pit straight so that makes good sense.

And yes....... call me Yoda

:bowdown::lol:

How are you guys doing on tyres btw ? Are they just melting or is it me ? :boggled:

What Im doing is:

avoid the inside of the Cork and immediatley go to left to avoid the steep part of the corner which will allow better exit speed....Once Im back on the throttle I take to the right of the track for the sweeping left hander and I lift off for a split second...Lift off before the apex and full throttle once Im on the apex...
Dont be scared to spin the tyres when you have no steering lock...10% wheel slip is the optimum level for perfect acceleraion but be prepared to countersteer...

Personally I find the first corner/second corner harder to judge...The second corner just sucks you in to thinking you can put your foot down..:scared:

Lol WRP.

My tyres are absolutely melting...My race pace will have to be high 22's if I want to stay out for 13 laps or so....I can do about 6 quali laps of high 1:20's until half the tyres go..

Glad it's not just me then lol.

I ran a 120.8 last night when i ran a few laps last night but i think i could get probably 12 laps or so running in the 121's as long as no stupid mistakes which is very easy to do. The softer spring thing i think will help with the uphill and downhill corners but at the same time i believe it might increase your tire wear im not positive about this let me know what yall think.

Spec 2 Update Details.

"Improved Physics"... that's a can of worms. Setups may need to be changed, driving lines adjusted. Should be interesting. Do they converge offline/online physics... let's hope they get closer at least.

October 11th, so Laguna will be our last race before spec 2 :scared:

Replay rewind & fast forward ! Finally !
Good spec 2 boost , DLC should be good too.:)

Wish they could just add a youtube function...That would be a much much bigger hit than the photomode thingy...Editing and croping replays and having the ability to add commentary...If Fifa can have commentary...

Holy Cow, All I have to say is that I am super ridiculously excited for this Update!!!

ya me too, just a lil let down though with this years nascars being updated when there is only freaking 2 nascar tracks in the game right now, i'd rather have all the new super gt cars and lmp prototypes as i'm sure a majority of others would want the same as well. hopeful wishing for them to be in the dlc

Yes, That is very true I am thinking that we will see the Super GT if any and the Signatech LMP-2 Nissan to be in the DLC. I though cannot wait for fast forward and rewind feature for replays I think it is time to dust off the ol' capture card.

The NASCAR's content should have been made a DLC. Would rather see some more super car types. And would have liked to seen some new tracks too! Can't really complain about free content I guess.

New Nascar cars was basically a way of giving us something for free that probably costs very little... basically a new paint job and maybe a very slight tweak here an there to some part of the car model. I could car less about Nascar and they can keep the cars.

The cars you guys are mentioning would *really* be new cars with 100% new modelling and they want to charge us for all that work. Can't say I blame them.

The other features of Spec 2 are good so I'll just consider the Nascar cars a free throw in that's worth what we're paying.

Wish they could just add a youtube function...

A YouTube function should be there I agree Killa , I guess they tried to cover most of the things we wanted.

YouTube race highlights on the way for your thread.... ? :)👍

Maybe, to make the Video in the OP with the current replay setup took me ages the new function should speed up time in creating a video conciderably. The only problem is finding the time to put it all together maybe 1 every two or three weeks we will see. I will however be making a highlight video for the entire season when it is said and done.
