I still cant really do the X1 challenge. i'm a bit too headhanded with analogue sticks n the l2/r2. keep giving it a try cos i want 0 miles versions n am gradually getting used to it, when using a carbon one i have i can get round tracks quickly, I mainly just keep getting disqualified for the 8th of an inch of tire than touches the gravel on 2nd lap

No one here has the right to make judgements about the OP's driving talents. I'm level 36 but my brother is level 8. That doesn't make him a rubbish driver, he's just not had the time available to dedicate to the game and i would guess that's the same situation for many. I've been beaten in many online lobbys by players far far lower than my level. The point here is, everyone paid out the same money for the game. I don't swallow the 'it's a challenge' arguement, everyone has an equal right to enjoy every single aspect of the game regardless of skill, talent or time input. If the OP wants an X2010 then that's his choice wether he'll find it easy or difficult - at least he'll get the chance to try it 1st hand.

I finally got the X1 this weekend after hitting LVL 35 B Spec. It was worth the wait having ground B Spec Bob to insanity.

I took it straight to the High Speed Ring in practice mode and did lap after lap until i was getting a good rhythm and all with a DS3. I can only imagine what it's like with a wheel?

It's like nothing else in the game. I like it because it's another challenge, but that's all it is. Having one prematurely in the game is a waste of time because only until you've worked to the point of getting one legitimately can you possibly imagine actually controlling it.

I used my x2010 for laguna seca endurance. This is the one you get from B-spec35 so it lacks a bit on customization (pre 1.06) - and even though i have driven it a fair bit on this and that (<4min nordschleife) it still took many rounds to get comfy on the laguna seca track. My fastest lap was actually lap 80 :)

then he can raise the 20mil and buy the thing at level 30, still legit at least

level 30 actually

i know this.... as i am level 30

You need lvl40, the car is a lvl40 car, thus you cannot buy it unless you are lvl40.

You can reach lvl 30 (b-spec/a-spec) and it will unlock the events, where you can win 3, you can also win it for reaching lvl35 in B-spec. But you cannot buy it (even though it shows up in the dealership) before lvl40.

Then you don't know a lot! It's shown in the dealership from level 30, that much is true; now go and try to buy it - oh hang on, you've got 10 more levels to go !! :ouch:

We're not making random judgments about his skill. Read the OP- he says he's having difficulty with GT5. I don't care if he's level 2, 8, 16, 24, or 40, I heard it from the horse's mouth.

ok, fair enough, i didn't buy one as such, i just saw it showed up in the dealerships

i did win my through the challenge, not by asking people to send a duped car

It seems I will get a tough challenge when I get the X1, after reading these posts, because as I did write Im not the best. Lvl 15 A-spec and lvl 17 B-spec. Still, if I cant control the X1, then thats that ;)

No disrespect intended, but if you can't bronze the new "challenge" you aren't ready for the car.

You won't enjoy the X2010 car- the car is NOT a pleasure to drive. You'll be off the track on every other corner, every lap. Find yourself something nice like the Sauber Mercedes C9 race car, Bentley Speed 8, etc. that's the sweet spot of racing.

Compared to the race cars, the Formula cars like the FGT really keep you on the edge for the whole race. This may or may not be considered a "pleasure." But the X2010 is like this but 3 times more, and I'm not exaggerating at all.

I definitely agree. The X2010 is unrealisticly fast. It feels like you're playing Extreme G. If the speed on that car in the track was more realistic like an lmp racer, I would enjoy driving it. I like a more realistic high speed racing experience, like driving a group C car. I just wish the C9, 88C-v, XXJR-9, etc. were premiums. I'm not so over hyped over the X2010. I would only use that car for the Indy 500 and that's it.
