No offense camaro maybe this isnt your style of game? I dont quite believe metacritic for anything. This is my first Ghost recon experience and I am loving it I do wish the graphics were a little polished but I wont be going back to battlefield and I will only play COd for amusement

No offense taken but this is exactly my type of gameplay. I love 3rd person shooters. As I have said above many times, I have purchased every single GR game. Loved every single one of them especially GRAW1 and GRAW2. Future Soldier is a massive step backward for the series in many ways. If some of you dont believe me or metacritic 7.9 average then maybe as the reviews surface you will see where I am coming from. Gametrailers.com just released their review saying almost the exact same stuff I posted. GRAW 2 was superior in many ways and thats a 5 year old game. This is the only GR game I would NOT recommend as a purchase. I would recommend it as a rental but then you will have to purchase the online pass for $10.00. You really wont be missing anything by not playing this game.

One thing I don't like about the way games are reviewed is that they lump the single payer and multiplayer together. Shooters are really 2 games anymore. They should do a multiplayer and single player review as 2 seperate games and 2 different scores. I've played all of the COD games, but have only even turned on the single player on 2 of them. Call of duty 2, and MW1. This Ghost recon will be the same way. I proabably won't even attemp to try the single player, unless my friends make me play coop which I don't like either.

I would say this version of the games online is excellent compared to other online shooters. The maps are setup so that you actually get into some really good gun fights with multiple people at once. The cover system makes these encounters pretty intense, and the addition of suppresion fire is awsome and really adds to the game. It's different then all of the other ghost recons, but it's still really good. It seems to be a mix of ghost recon, with a little COD and socom thrown in. I'm not missing the terrorist hunt mode at all, because that just prevents me from having to play it. I'm actually glad they left it out, because I'm all about competition and really don't want to have to play against the CPU at all. I've never really understood why people want a company to keep putting out the same game as their last one.

I would like some more non respawn game modes though. The one they have is good, but how about the sabetour mode with no respawn, or at least some other options other then the one they have. I've played all of the ghost recons, and I wouldn't say this is a step back. The guns and control feels much, much better then the old ones, and the graphics seem just fine to me. They're not as cartoonish looking as most of todays games. They're not near BF3 on the PC or anything, but for consoles they look just as good as any other shooter out there.

The sound is the one place I think this game does lack behind some of the better sounding shooters. It's no where near battlefield, or socom confrontation, but it is comparable to MW3. It gets you into the action, but it's not going to blow you away like a few games do. For the sound I'm not using TV speakers, I have a pretty decent 5.1 system hooked up to it. The placement of the sounds are pretty good, but sometimes you can't pinpoint exactly where someone is like in socom confrontation., and it doesn't seem to be near as dynamic as BF3.

Keep in mind I am strictly talking about the online play, sound and look of the game. I have no idea what the single player looks or plays like, and have no interest in finding out. As far as i'm concerend single player shooters should die, and they should focus more on the online portion of the games.

Oops I had a typo in my previous post. This is what it should say. I added the "NOT".
"This is the only GR game I would NOT recommend as a purchase."

Thanks for your explanation Camaroboy maybe your expectation is very high since you have expereince with the game while mine is a little lower coming from random ps3 shooters. Its cool to hear variying opinions I watched the gametrailers reveiw it actually makes me want the game as well as the IGN reveiw ( but I rarely trust IGN)

I am just curious I have only had limited expereince with the games multiplayer. Does the single player and other modes have tons of bad language in it just curious if anybody knows this I will pick up my reserved copy probalby tomorrow or Sunday

One thing that is driving me crazy about this game, and was the same problem I had with BF3, only BF3 was even worse about it and was what made me stop playing it. Why is it that COD is the only game that can take an entire party into a game and put them on the same team? I will almost always have at least 6 people to play with, but it always splits us up. and if it's going to split us up anyway, why can't we go into the game with parties bigger then 6 people?

Both BF3 and ghost recon are extremely team oriented, so you have to work as a team on both games if you want to win. Why would they not want a entire team of players to play together? Almost all of the game modes on COD can be won by a single payer dominating, but it always keeps parties together.

This one problem really makes me see why everyone goes back to COD. I can't stand that game, but at least they have enough sense to make a decent party system for people to play together.

That is pretty interesting thought I didnt know that.

I don't have the game yet (pre ordered the Signature edition but the postman is taking the tourist route I guess..), but I got the promo codes in e-mail. I wanted to redeem them but I can't, it's giving an error. My promo code starts with 3 characters while a normal redeem code has 5, and my XB wants 5. So I can't redeem it.. Am I doing something wrong or do I have the wrong codes??

(XBOX version)

Was looking at some gameplays of this and I'm pretty interested in it. Is it similar to Splinter Cell: Conviction (as in stealth wise).

I'm loving the online multiplayer. Out of about 10 of us though that play COD I think I'm the only one that likes it. I don't care a whole lot for the detection where the enemy can be seen through walls, but it is really fun to fly around a UAV get the enemy detected and call them out for people. I've had the leading score in every game I've played tonight, and only had the most kills once. One game I went 2-0 while another guy was like 17-8 and had the plant, and I still had 1000 more points then him by spotting with the UAV.

This game is all teamwork. I've never played a game with respawn where teamwork was even close to this important. Would love to play with some GTP guys who are wanting to work together and get wins instead of kills. My friends don't seem to feel a win is as fun as a nice K/D and a loss.

I really like how the shooting is on this game too. They way they set it up makes it so slow from behind cover is by far the best way to rack up kills and advance toward the target. Running and gunning is a death sentence. For anyone wanting to earn kills and wins unlike COD where the magnet auto aim does all the work for you, this game is it.

I think alot of people wont think its fun because theyare so worried about having the best or brightest score when this game is so team oriented my signiture edition came today ( along with Dirt 3 complete edition) I will give my thoughts after I have played it a little more.

Way I heard it's possible to get highest score by doing support actions only. But you didn't really mean highest score, right? You meant highest killcount probably.

My lbrother got it awhile back and ive been playing it off and on, but im just too used to BF3. And im not that much of a fan for 3rd person shooters, except MGS online. It just isnt for me, but i do like the amount of teamwork it requires.

This one is almost nothing like the old ghost recon games.

The old Ghost recon is in there just a bit more stream lined At least thats how some of my freinds explain it to me. I for one and finnally starting to get the hang of it there is alot of depth in the MP and Gunsmith is a excellent feature

So what game modes do you guys play most? When i first started i was mostly just playing conflict as i wasnt even sure of the maps, or how big they were. Now that im used to it i play alot of saboteur and siege.

Well to be honest just the other day the statistics on the GRFS site said that there was about 5000~ people online, compared to Xbox's 25000~ online at one time the other day.. This game seems to be pretty dead on the ps3 side of things.

Dont seem like alot of peopl on hear play
It ended up being a terrible game. Easily the worst Ghost Recon ever created. ONly allowing people to play the horde mode and campaign was a massive mistake. Huge step backward for the series. Lets hope the new Rainbow Six is much much better than this. This is coming from someone that bought every single GR game out there. Glad I only rented this one. 👎

If there was 5,000 people playing, then thats down to about 2,000 and rapidly decreasing. Its only been out a couple weeks and is already dropped to 12th place on the top 20 xboxlive games being played. IN fact its lower than Gears Of War 3 and GTA4. http://majornelson.com/2012/06/13/live-activity-for-week-of-june-4th/

Max Payne 3 is already down to 19th position. I knew that game wasnt going to last long at all. It also has a terrible multiplayer.

I have to admit, the time i checked was kind of a really off time so the players were very low.

Theres 7k online as of right now, but I've seen it as high as 25k within the past week. Highest i seen xbox was around 75k.

Its really not that bad of a game, I enjoy the game modes although i do wish there was a tdm just so i can get those people that dont team up out of the game modes I play. Because you've played every single ghost recon you have a highstandard for them so I can understand your frustration and what not. For me though, I'm fairly new to the GR franchise(last one i owned was on the xbox, forgot which version of GR though.) so that being said it is a good change of pace from games that are currently out. The amount of teamwork is what really got me hooked. Co-op, while its a nice feature, I dont really care for it. I always more into adversarial rather then co-op, plus I dont really have anyone to play it with haha.
