Why would it always been an issue? I don't think they allowed enough watering of the track. You can't run over it a few times when it's hot out and expect water to keep dust down. They needed to some how soak it slowly over time before the first race (granted it could easily went from powder to mud in a hurry too).

I just think that caused issues with some folks.

For the things you mentioned, that's why I said it was always going to be an issue. I don't know what type of dirt that is (hence why I just sorta said redish kind of dirt), but my point was that kind of dirt always presents a dust issue and as you mentioned, it could've easily became Mud.

And that red clay dust you really don't want to get too soaking wet in the middle of the day 'cause it could bake into brick and that would cause more issues than it would solve. Also, the water truck broke in the middle of the event, so...

I'm not complaining as it was neat course and event. I also heard track was under water a week earlier.

GRC Barcelona has been rain delayed. "Rain Delay" and "Rally" don't really go together. I say just race it. The Rallycross cars must be set up like NASCARS.

Well, it's rally, AND it rained in Brazil but the track had dried before the race. Seriously, though, they need start bringing rain and mud tires with them so they can have an actual rally race if it rains.

Except NASCAR racers cant race in the rain on ovals because its physically impossible.

That's soooooooooooo stupid it's not even funny. "Rain cancelled Rally Event" is an oxymoron. It makes no sense and kinda makes X-Games and GRC look like idiots. I feel sorry for the drivers 'cause some of them are going back to other rally events and they're gonna get laughed at 'cause GRC is scared of rain and mud. I sure hope that this event and the face that the Brazil track was underwater until the final day make the GRC realize that mud tires might be a good investment. Seriously, I hate NASCAR. NASCAR commitee people are a bunch of wussies when it comes to weather. I don't think I've EVER seen a NASCAR sanctioned event in the rain. Even Grand-Am races tended to get cancelled if it rained. (Which hopefully won't happen with the URC.) But, where I can kinda see cancelling a road race because of rain....the only time I've EVER heard a Rally getting cancelled because of rain is when the road is literally under too much water. Like when it rains and the river they were supposed to cross is now a raging torrent and you'd be an idiot to try and cross it. Seriously, if you're a rally driver and your race gets cancelled because the dirt track is now a mud track...that's embarrassing. And I'm sure about 95% of the drivers are rather irritated that it got cancelled.

Like I said on the last page. They didn't have the tires for the conditions.

When they did attempt to run practice laps, they couldn't get above a running pace without hydroplaning because the tires were getting coated in mud.

Maybe if they had ice racing tires, because that's about the only way I could potentially see them being able to race on that surface in those conditions.

You people need to seriously READ my posts. I mentioned they need to invest in mud tires.

Name me a WRC event that continued in the rain that bad on surface that bad.

Now you have.

Even Grand-Am races tended to get cancelled if it rained. (Which hopefully won't happen with the URC.)

You were saying?

Fun fact: ALMS cancelled the rest of the 2010 Petit Le Mans because of.. rain.

And before you say anything, I have read your posts and going off what I have read, you really don't need to post when you are angry. Lots of untrue information in your posts all because you are upset at this being cancelled.

GRC has said they're going to have a make up race.

I think, though, with all the bad publicity they've gotten for cancelling a rally race because of rain, I have the feeling that next year, they will make a sanctioned mud tire and require windshield wipers on the cars.

So apparently, there's another race on right now at X-games Munich and its gotten to the finals. Here are the drivers competing:

Tanner Foust
Brian Deegan
Liam Doran
Ken Block
Thomas Heikkenen (please let me know if I spelled that correctly)
Scott Speed
Mattias Ekstrom
Anton Marklund
Patrick Sandell
Timur Timerzyanov (subbing for Travis Pastrana)

Final race is starting.

Edit: And Liam Doran wins the gold. The second Rallycross race is tomarrow on ESPN.

Well, looks like I'm the only one who knows (or cares by the looks of things). Rallycross event #2 is on right now, they about to do heat 4 and then the LCQ before the Final race.

Edit: Now the LCQ is going to begin. THe people Competiting:

Bucky Lasek
Anton Marklund
Scott Speed
Guiga Spinelli
Mattias Ekstrom
Anton Marklund
Patrick Sandell
Timur Timerzyanov (subbing for Travis Pastrana)
Dave Mirra

Was started, but Mirra's car stopped on track and the race was red flagged so it will start over again and Mirra will not be competing now. Its starting now.

Finally, I'm not the only one in this Thread!

Yeah, I tend to have the hardest time with Finnish names so I'm never sure if I got them right or not.

You're not the only one struggling with names, Autosport live have been confusing Liam Doran with his dads name Pat!
