All right im gonna be getting a new car here soon and im gonna have $5000 to spend on it so any suggestions. Ive thought about maye getting some older muscle car or something like that but basically i want something with lots of hp.

You are 19. You don't want a car with "lots of hp", or you won't see 20.

get a CRX, (good, light car) and with the leftover money buy some performance parts. Old muscle cars are going to cost over $5000, and the '80s muscle cars aren't going to be very reliable.

If your not against import's, you should take a look at an MK3 Supra turbo, or a '91-93 MR2 turbo. Both can be bought for 5k, or less, and both can make considerable hp with little money.

Good luck

My recommendations:

- 1990-1993 Acura Integra sedan - 130bhp 90-91; 140bhp 92-93 (especially 1992-1993 GS)
- 1994-2001 Acura Integra sedan - 142bhp RS/LS; 170bhp GS-R (especially 1994-2001 GS-R)
- 1988-1991 BMW 325ix - 168bhp & AWD (especially sedan)
- 1990-1994 Eagle Talon TSi AWD - 195bhp & AWD (especially after 1990 when antilock brakes became standard)
- 1995-2000 Ford Contour V6 - 170bhp
- 1989-1995 Ford Taurus SHO - 220bhp (especially 1994-1995)
- 1990-1992 Infiniti M30 - 162bhp (especially convertible)
- 1995-2000 Mercury Mystique V6 - 170bhp
- 1992-1996 Mitsubishi Diamante LS - 201bhp

I dont think i'll have a problem with alot of horsepower. I've driven my dads new Ram with the hemi that has 345 hp and i dont really speed or do anything stupid in that.

i suggest against an ix. its not that they are bad, but you can probably find an "is" for a bit cheaper. i believe the awd adds a bit of weight to the car.

Well look at it this way. It's a truck. Of course it won't "go" as well as smaller cars with the same displacement.

I dont know of you've felt the power of the Ram with the Hemi. It has quite a bit of power and it goes pretty quickly.

1.Cop Car{best choice cause you got cop brakes,suspension.etc and they could be found for under $2,000.make sure to look for a detective model and not fleet duty.they beat the crap out of the fleet duty ones}
2.80's F-body
3.Pickup Truck

cop cars are a bargain

I(and when I say I, I mean my dad) paid 7, or something, for my '97 WS6 w/under 70k miles.

I saw two matching red Z28's with under 90k miles at a dealership the other week, and both were under $5,600.

The Camaro/Trans Am will be easy to find for under $5,000. The Corvette would be harder to find unless it's old and a total piece of Doug. I mean ****.

I did a quick look at autotrader.com and i found over 50 of those cars for sale for under 5k :) thanks for the tip.

yeah, you can find a corvette for under 5k but what condition is it in usaully if a corvette is under 5k it's being sold for a project car
and if you want to restore it you'll need more than 5 000 dollars
I would get a civic or something that dosen't need a lot of gas

Did you know they made a Ram Air convertible? I've seen some around - I love it! I'll take four. In black. With chrome wheels.

Yes. I've seen a lot in videos, and in real life. I've seen more of the LS1's, though.

AIM? Meh. The only times I can get on AIM are Saturdays and Sundays. I'll get on next weekend.

Man, don't get something too powerful. I shudder to think of what my Miata could have done if it had had more power. i'd be upside down with my head off.
