Google advertisements covering the menu bar

I understand you need them for money but i cant get around the site where they are now. Its the main bar at the top.

Adverts are now obscuring content in the PS3 browser making the site unusable.

Could you be more specific? Are all ads that you see covering the content, or just one specific ad banner? Which banner is it? What part of the site are you on? I just checked on my own PS3 and didn't see any problems.

try the news page its been doing that alot lately, also the renember me feature is not working on ps3 but neither is facebook renember feature working so it may be a ps3 thing.

Its a bit random when it happens but it covers the menu bar and half way down the left hand side of the screen. Im on my ps3 as well.

I have also been noticing the top banner ad blocking the button above where the ad should go. The banner ad will spin and extend down the page as a see through box that prevents you from clicking any links or buttons covered by the banner.

It seems to be logitech ads mostly but that could be due to the fact logitech ads make up the majority of ads.

When loading pages on the Ps3 it prompts you to either run plug-in or not, not running it seems to make this happen more, but it still seems random. Edit: nevermind it has no effect.

Whatever change you've made has fixed this problem, it looks like the ad in the upper left is gone now.

Sorry for the revival but the problem isnt goin away. The banners at the top of the page bleed into the menus making them un-clickable. It looks like the code is telling the advertisements to display in portrait instead of landscape. It only happens on the ps3, and its probably an issue with flash. However my iphone works just fine.

Also, when you log in, the banners flip back horizontal, but now they obscure the GTP header.

EDIT: I just clicked on grog's link and the same problem occurs on imageshack. Seems its a problem with the browser, not the site 👍

Unfortunately, I don't know what's going on or how to fix it. Most of the pages on the site validate with the W3C, but the undocumented and inconsistent specifications of the PS3's browser make it extremely difficult to work with or troubleshoot. I see that ImageShack employs the same ad server software I'm using here, so I'd guess the browser doesn't know what to do with some of its Javascript invocation code. You could try disabling Javascript and the issue will probably go away.

Actually most ads are gone in the PS3 browser when you disable Java, so yes, I think that's the best solution.
