How does this weekly race series work ? Do we have to post photos of our race / lap times to confirm who wins ?
I am rather interested in starting this as none of my friends like GT.

You can just read the thread, starting with page 1/post 1. And then keep reading how the race series evolved (so far as rules go). Currently there are no players other than you since you dragged up a thread that has been dead for almost a year.
I'm too involved with GT4 but perhaps someone else will join you with some GT1 racing...

So, when does it start? Who's running it? If nobody comes or objects, I am interested in running this series; I have plenty of free time on my hands.
P.S: I know I dragged up a dead-again thread, but I don't care! I want to participate in a series, and this one requires no photographic evidence first-hand. That's good for me, as I don't have ePSXe, a capture card, or any other item; just a copy of GT, a PS2, and a will to race.

I would join as well, except that my GT1 disc has snapped.

Update: In light of Skid Mark 33's plight, as he is a willing competitor, and seeing that it seems that no one objects to me running the series, how about a series of exhibition races to get things going? (it would also teach me a lot about running these competitions)

How about we start by brainstorming ideas for rules? Here are some:
1: (for car type)
2: The rumble strips are part of the track, however cutting off course is illegal.
3: Specifically, keep 3 wheels on the course at all times.
Should we have identical cars and settings, or should some freedom be given in choosing an entrant?

Racing Modification
Racing Suspension set to default
Racing Transmission autoset to 16
Simulation tires
Everything else, except exhaust modifications and electronic aids.
Track: Red Rock Valley Speedway
Length: 27 laps
Run in: Arcade Mode, Time Trial
Tire wear: On
Damage: On
Any suggestions?

Racing gearbox (ratios subject to change)
Racing Tires (super-hards F/R)
All Engine upgrades
All Exhaust upgrades
Downforce at default
Track: Grand Valley Speedway
Length: 20 laps
Run in: Grand Valley 300km, test session (for tire wear)
Submit to superberkut by PM:
-Total race time
-Fastest lap
Submit by: December 16th, 2007
Late entries will not be accepted.

For this race, you can, but it isn't necessary now. All you need is your fastest lap and your total time. We run by the honour code here. If you breach it... look in the banned user's log under pink_the_floyd/TS020. This is the official weekly race series thread, so remember that.

Time sent, pathetic though it was.
What a Pig of a Car and setup.There was no mention of racing brakes so I did not fit them, doubt it would have helped though.
I did not have a '93 model available so I used a '90 model.
Doubt there would be much difference here either !!!
First 10 laps moderately awful, I defy anyone to get around without excursions at all. Couple of decent laps once tyres warmed up but then started to feel very Seasick with all the bouncing up and down
After about 12 laps, as tyres started to go off, it was just a matter of survival
very pleased to get to 20 laps, Car virtually undriveable by this stage.
Boy ! What a train wreck
!
Maybe future races could be just a car and track picked out in Arcade mode or something, just to make it more pleasant.
