Well, this was embarrassing.
I was at the Autoshow yesterday, between 1pm and 4pm, and I got a chance to participate in the GT5 challenge. The best time I put down was 1:33:xxx...
Granted, I had all the assists except ABS off but that's not my excuse....
My excuse is something I bet everyone here overlooked... it's so underrated but looking back it greatly affected my performance...
I was wearing shoes.
I know it sounds silly but I just couldn't feel the pedals. I have a G27 at home but I've used a DFGT before privately and my lap times weren't that off from my G27 lap times... wearing shoes was distracting... I couldn't feather the throttle or brake to my liking, and unlike real car pedals, the DFGT pedals are very close to one another and small.... I'm tall and I have big feet... and larger shoes... this completely threw off my game... so if you're going to go and don't wear shoes at home, take 'em off when you're setting your lap time at the Autoshow...
