This might lead to some boost adjustment (like GT2) and hopefully more indepth options.

I noticed in another picture the boost gauge has units printed on it, not just the numbers but the scale aswell "x100 kPa". Rather than like other GT games we are guessing what the dashes represent now we have a defined indication.

Isn't it already like that in GT5P?
another thing.

I am really happy we have a painted option for carbon parts, don't get me wrong I like "raw" carbon too but I know every boy and his fairy will have them raw ad on some cars I like the clean look.
Yeah, in TXR I would usually keep my car's hood painted, even if it meant a few extra pounds compared to raw. Some cars do look good with raw though, like Dave said, a white one. Or a black I might as well leave it unpainted.
Weight reductions are a lot cheaper this time around... though, the hood being separate probably has something to do with it. Neat.

If the options are part of the body chassis only, why are carbon fiber hoods there?

I was going to point that out. I don't expect any other body pieces to be turned to carbon, since the hood is right there. Though GT Auto might allow us spoilers just like GT4, or maybe the option to turn the stock unit into a carbon fibre copy (which should be simple from a programming point of view). Maybe splitters as well...

Because, as someone stated, it could be that the weight reduction isn't as simplified as it was before. With the 1st stage you get the option to buy a lighter hood. With the 2nd stage you get to put on a CF trunk. With the 3rd stage you change out the doors for CF ones. To me it seems to be following a street trend, if it is indeed like that. It makes sense since the stages are so cheap compared to what they were before.

GT4 had Splitters, they just weren't visible. It was included in the package when you bought a spoiler.

What I mean is that the hood or even body panels aren't part of the chassis, so at least to me, it seems unlikely that the image we're seeing is only for that as previously implied (by the "Body/Chassis" caption).

? You have the chassis weight reduction stages on the left and you have the CF body parts on the right. The chassis/body screen encompasses both so why wouldn't they both be on one screen?
