What could the customization refer to?

I am really happy we have a painted option for carbon parts, don't get me wrong I like "raw" carbon too but I know every boy and his fairy will have them raw ad on some cars I like the clean look.

Agreed. I always had CF part painted before putting them on my car. I do however love the look of a white car with an unpainted CF hood. The contrast looks so good.

im sure about one thing...
how all of us remember, we have the 3 stages, the first where, the pointer arrow 1st stage is, show the design of the door and hood and the choice to choose the hood type..
for me if the pointer hit the 2nd stage there will be another kind of picture like ex chairs (like in previus gt) and maybe will shows another kinds of stuff to choose from...

I noticed in another picture the boost gauge has units printed on it, not just the numbers but the scale aswell "x100 kPa". Rather than like other GT games we are guessing what the dashes represent now we have a defined indication.

This might lead to some boost adjustment (like GT2) and hopefully more indepth options.

Would be a excellent return, you could drop boost to make a car more drivable, better on its tyres, more fuel efficient or allow you to enter a favourite car into a lower league.

It was a form of tuning that never should have disappeared.

Isn't it already like that in GT5P?

another thing.
maybe when you click on the torsion bar will bring you in another section to choose the brand...

I highly doubt it. Strut bars don't cost 30,000. There is likely no brand as you probably get the frame rail foam filled, roll cage welded in, under body braces/sub frame connectors.

Yeah, in TXR I would usually keep my car's hood painted, even if it meant a few extra pounds compared to raw. Some cars do look good with raw though, like Dave said, a white one. Or a black I might as well leave it unpainted :D.

Weight reductions are a lot cheaper this time around... though, the hood being separate probably has something to do with it. Neat.

I believe the weight reductions are cheap because they're only one part of it. It states that they're "Chassis Weight Reduction", which I believe would only mean the chassis itself. Where other Weight Reductions may take out useless components out of cars (AC, radio, seats, etc) or lighten with carbon fiber panels (body kits, hoods, etc.)

If the options are part of the body chassis only, why are carbon fiber hoods there?

I was going to point that out. I don't expect any other body pieces to be turned to carbon, since the hood is right there. Though GT Auto might allow us spoilers just like GT4, or maybe the option to turn the stock unit into a carbon fibre copy (which should be simple from a programming point of view). Maybe splitters as well...

Show us the return of the almighty R Mod, Kaz!

Because, as someone stated, it could be that the weight reduction isn't as simplified as it was before. With the 1st stage you get the option to buy a lighter hood. With the 2nd stage you get to put on a CF trunk. With the 3rd stage you change out the doors for CF ones. To me it seems to be following a street trend, if it is indeed like that. It makes sense since the stages are so cheap compared to what they were before.

GT4 had Splitters, they just weren't visible. It was included in the package when you bought a spoiler.

That seems very plausible. The ones on the left are for the chassis (Stage 1-2-3), the ones on the right are body parts which require the necessary chassis upgrades to install.

What I mean is that the hood or even body panels aren't part of the chassis, so at least to me, it seems unlikely that the image we're seeing is only for that as previously implied (by the "Body/Chassis" caption).

Hmm, never thought of it that way. That'd work 👍

Ah, I meant visually :). I recognize we could adjust front end downforce after buying a wing, but as far as I was concerned, not actually throwing splitters in to see meant they didn't properly exist, heh.

? You have the chassis weight reduction stages on the left and you have the CF body parts on the right. The chassis/body screen encompasses both so why wouldn't they both be on one screen?
The description above the car tells you all that is involved in the body/chassis lightening/strengthening process.
I'm sorry if I'm not following.

Ah, sorry.
I was thinking of "Body/Chassis" as the menu title in some kind of tree system, as another user suggested.

A bit like what happens on this forum:

All Forums > GT Series > Gran Turismo 5 > Gran Turismo 5 Customization?

So it's probably Body/Chassis as in "Body AND chassis".

Where'd you get this picture?!

While it's only the weight reduction screen, I do hope the theme and look transfers over to the actual customization screens as well. If the picture moved as you did different aspects of tuning, that would be great.
