What could the customization refer to?

you would think with all the "Customization" and "tuning" threads PD would listen...

i love how the "Exhaust" upgrade is broke down into sever categories... they they let u pick separate Cat and Muffler...

Racing Cat with a Semi-Racing or street Muffler...

so seems like the tuning categories have been broken down into smaller detail for more options... thats a start... :dopey:

You have the option to do headers, cat converter, and muffler. Does muffler, again, include the b-pipe, or did they decide to keep all the piping out? I also don't understand the point of the racing cat, or even a sport cat. If you have a racing exhaust you are most likely running cat-less.

There should be Straight Pipe option as well.

Also I thought Some racing, there is a need for the CAT.

What you not taking into account is that these shots are of main menu's, whose to say that once you select an option, another menu opens up with more options. PD have never been shy of offerings and i dont see them been any different with GT5, they know that loyal fans have been with them since GT1 and have grown up and now have there own real cars, so i dont see them giving you less but more.

If the options didn't have prices next to them, I might be inclined to think this. Still, at such cheap prices having a few different parts or processes put together into a "Stage" is actually probably the most sensible way forward.

Has anyone thought that, maybe, the prices for the different levels were the mechanic's salary to install the parts you can buy for this level ?

So you pay the guy for a level 1 job, then switch to a part selection screen with prices, data, and other explanations... With the inclusion of named AI, and the buffing of B-Spec, Is it so far fetched to think that you will have to pay someone to handle all your precious after market parts ?

Just throwing stones in the dark... Still fun, though.

Show me proof that's how it works.
That's how I hope it works as well seeing as the stage1 doesn't show how it affects the stats.

i think the prices are cheap because its a Ford Focus :O

The racing "suspension" is still 20k.
In gt4 the focus ST "engine stages" went for 4700, 12,000, and 70,000. The Ford GT for example went something like 5000, 13500, 80,000.
The prices were not that different.

So if I buy a Cr.10,000 car I've got to spend Cr.20,000 if I want racing suspension? "Hey everybody, the suspension in my car is worth more than the whole entire car.. yay!"

Im pretty sure that happens in Real Life too

Ask some dude that has build up a ****** 500$ Honda with some 5000$ Js Racing Headers for example..

Yeah, pretty much.

Its pretty easy to spend 50k on a 5k car tuning it in real life.

"Can’t talk about details on customization but yes, you’ll be able to customize.

Customization in GT5 will be better than GT4.
"

That was from KY at the E3 2010 Twitter breakout session.

Wondering what he means by better? Carbon fiber hoods, bumpers and sideskirts?

Paint shop?

Maaaaaaybe livery editor?

He dismissed the livery editor in GT5, and the latest batch of screens shows carbon fiber hoods, with a choice of painted and unpainted.

Really? It's not that easy unless you can't stop yourself from buy over priced things and going way overboard. Unless of course you're talking about finding a shell of a 1950 mercury custom and then restoring it. That's not quite the same as "tuning". I know people who've gone out and bought fully built cosworth motors in their "toys" and that didn't set them that far. Another friend completely built his $10k car from the ground up and barely got half way through that 50k even with almost every single part of the car chromed or refreshed. In GT however, but racing suspension, and a stage 2 engine tune and you're down 30k+.

Cuztomisation huh? Well if they confirm bodykit, I expect like 1 or 2 -all body kit- for each car like NFS Shift.
The one wish I almost completely forgot about (which used to be my one only wish) is the option to change your car color.

IMO I don't see PD letting you put body kits on cars. I see them doing what they have always done. Making the car lighter and faster and throw in the occasional race modification. Just with that one screen, carbon fiber hood or painted carbon fiber hood.

GT2 had the option to for new body kit in most cars(with sponsor decals). like if you wanted it for rally. Some had 1 or 2 different colors to chose from.

I can't see why real life bodykit/tuning specialists, won't be in other than licence agreements.Plus if KY wants them in.Would be great to have Techart, Keonig, Veilside plus other companies.

S&S.

[optimism+reality]I wouldn't say dismissed, but we can say it looks grim. He said "probably not", not "No, never, impossible, let's move on".

KY has always downplayed big features. Weather was downplayed at TGS when KY repeatedly said "It depends how it affects the overall quality of the game".

I don't necessarily expect a livery editor after the Gamescom interview, but there's still a chance. *insert Dumb and Dumber reference here*

Indeed, features that have not been confirmed yet always get downplayed like this by Kaz, his answer has not suprised me at all and I still think there is a chance of making it in GT5. I however don't think too much about it to avoid dissapointment.

If there is a livery editor I expect it on Premium cars only.

I honestly reallly really hope you can change the color of your car. OEM or custom

Yep, together with other effects such as choosing between different settings of matt, metallic, solid or chameleon, obviously at a extra paint shop charge of course.

so...
after all track creator and karts its true.
EVEN BETTER
if gt5 doesnt have our favorite tracks, we create them!!!
