What could the customization refer to?

Wasn't there an article from some source stating things about the customization going as far as changing the interior of (premium)cars? I can't find the link or article, but I know I read it on here, anyone remember that? Was it a false hope or was there any truth to it?

As far as what options we will see, body parts have been confirmed, bumpers etc. so wheels will be in there that's certain. lets pray that width and height of the wheels can be adjusted! I'm just praying for the DBR9 to tell you the truth. I love that car ever since i first laid eyes on it. One of if not the most beautiful LeMans GT/non prototype race car ever IMO. If you can't purchase it, I sure hope you can 'race upgrade' your DB9 into it!

^ If you're thinking of the same one as me, it was a long time ago, and Kaz was talking about the new procedure for modelling cars, which we now know as "premium". He did say that because each part of the car was modelled individually, you could change any part of it. Of course the context was probably hypothetical, ie. "perhaps with the PS4, and a hundred modellers working for a hundred years, it could be possible".

Who knows, though. Perhaps we could be surprised. They still have kept this whole area quiet so I am expecting something is being held back.

but not too big rims. I want low offset too.

From stock and only having it dropped...

to...

... but a little bit smaller rims like these^.

edit: or like my signature... (from left wheel, to right wheel)

I completely agree :) Stance Stance Stance!

I have a good feeling that standard cars will be customizable.

Since standard cars are susceptible to dents and scratches, wouldn't that imply that minor damage such as dents mean that at least certain parts of the standard cars have been "recreated" to support it?

For example, since a standard car can be dented, let's say in the front bumper, wouldn't that mean the front bumper has been made anew? And doesn't that lend credibility to the fact that the front bumper can probably be changed thanks to an upgraded customization feature?

What about the back bumper or the side doors? If these can suffer damage, might this mean we can customize these said parts of a standard car model?

Well they did say you'll be able to customize every aspect of the car, so I would imagine while they were upping the poly count on Standard cars they modeled parts separately

Probably not. Since they are shader based, the dents and scratches will also like be shown with shading on top of the panel.

I just like to compare it to gunfire damage on walls in games like Metal Gear. The wall itself isn't being damaged, it's just a texture displayed on top of the wall to give the impression of damage. Small dents could be treated exactly the same as scratches this way.

quick question, can you buy these cars in the USA? I dont think I ever came across one.

Yes you can, all the way up until the S15. They are rare though, I've only ever seen four or five in my life.

Yes as a Nissan 240sx, they come with a different power plant to the Japanese, Euro, Australian versions though.

Nothing like the SR20 engine though!

On-topic, the back of the box says 1000cars that you can race customize and upgrade (in no particular order). Does this not confirm even standards should get at least some customization?

Just changing wheels is a form of customisation, so yes.

If it isn't a feature, either Kaz doesn't want it in, or the manufacturers are much stricter with PD than they are with other developers.

Im not sure if someone can answer this but can you custom color cars in gt5? Like if I want to make a weird blue color can I do that?

Yes just been confirmed , the paint shop looks good. you can choose real paint colours.
no livery editor but the paint on the SLS in screen shot has airbrushing.

I bet they unveil the livery editor in the next coming weeks if they don't ill probably cancel my collectors edition GT5 and just buy the new NFS game coming out

Better cancel now as there will be no livery editor - Kaz confirmed it

I'm not sure it's confirm just yet. So far it looks like we'll be choosing from a set of pre-made colors, like "Mclaren Orange" as shown in one of the images. I think he was asking if we can set our own hues/sat. and such.

Hello separate icons for bumpers/sideskirts/wings, and the actual race mod option :D

I guess this means the Tuned Concepts from Prologue will be returning in one form or another. I'm also wondering if we'll finally get some new rims for fitment (and please, PLEASE, give me the Today's Special option again). At least I know I'll be able to paint my Volk TE37's any colour I want.

(EDIT) And it appears there's already members who think the SLS being washed, with foamy soap all over it, is somehow a livery

I'm excited about that particular thing too. We also have a good chance this time that it won't just be spoilers because the bumpers and sidekirts are also highlighted.

yay.

i now believe that pd will do a full blown paint and decal editor in gt6. whoops...i'm already talking about gt6! yikes....

Whats that Decal Icon/Option?? the same with the Bodykit Stuff..

OMG, GT5 Is Delivering!!!

..Always Bet on GT5
