Great news after another year of waiting :indiff:

Thats a closed session yes, but there is a presentation also I beleive.

At a guess there's still well over 6hrs to go before anything happens, I look forward to coming home tomorrow after work then.:sly:

But still, the date is all that matters right now.

So finally after a long wait the day has come ,goona be crazy here when the show starts.

Credit to Darin for posting some details on the RSC website...

Ive no doubts we will get a date and with a taster of more in what the game offers with a nice trailer.

The details from the closed door session will be covered by media attending.
So its not as if those details wont come out anyways. Besides Wednesday further details combined with footage being uploaded from the booths will make Wednesday an enjoyable day for more GT news/videos.
If the past is anything to go by sometimes smuggled in camera footage may be uploaded and posted somewhere so who knows.

Personally Im going to avoid opinions on here that are negative or continue to moan, because whatever goes down is what is and moaning wont change anything.
I hope some others here take a similar stance and try to keep this thread more positive than negative.

I'm sure that we overload GTP this time 👍

Getting exited.. even my avvy caught fire!!

Looking forwards to tonigths show 👍

Care to explain how a closed door demo means the game is coming out in 2011? It doesn't mean anything.

How else are they going to do it??

They won't have time at the Sony event for a full on demonstration of all the features. If they held a public session it would probably be chaos and everyone would want into it.

To be honest if they are holding a special session just for GT5 it should mean that they really are going to be spilling the beans.

And what better way to relay that to the public than via the press?

I would actually say that this is good news. He might be showing the whole game completed and just doesnt want it filmed as its going to be a nice surprise for everyone.

Indeed, it has nothing but really nothing to do with that.

Am I the only one who is grateful of this news? A closed-doors talk and demonstration most likely means we'll be getting a heap of fresh info, most likely about features of the game. It sounds juicy to me. There's a whole 20 minutes devoted to GT in the Sony presentation isn't there? That's a lot!

Tuesday, June 15th – Mercedes Benz / Gran Turismo VIP Event – Developer Kazanori Yamauchi will be on hand as well as 6 rigs, one with 3D running GT5.
Wednesday, June 16th – Closed door breakout session for Gran Turismo 5. This session will be hosted by Kazunori Yamauchi, and he’ll be addressing a select group of media with a presentation that will focus on new information regarding GT5 as well as unveiling some of the new features in the game. (No Video coverage)
Thursday, June 17th – Interview with the GT team on E3 floor

So you mean they can´t tell us in 1 min what this new features are??

Why the hell all those advertisements at Le Mans, Playstation Blog, Keving Butler, if they don't reveal everything at the same time? This is just a videogame, not the JFK assassination or the Roswell Ufo secret :dunce:.
PD and Sony sould stop with the "new revolution is coming", "expect perfection", "better than reality" thing. They could hurt themselves, really bad.

Ok so all the Sony sites are wrong in stating a 2010 release date?

The Man Furismo Jive adverts are going to be soon advertising for a game coming out in 2011????

Just because its a behind closed doors demo doesnt mean its the end of the world. How many times do games magazines report of preview after being invited to a " private showing " at the developers HQ? All the time.

The other thing is that when have PD flooded the general public with info??

Was reading up on the last 10 or so pages and was quite amused by those who apparantly lost their marbles on the last few days ( years of patience and then finally when the finish line appeares snapped and gone in full Tourette mode...).

Agree totally with what Skidmark said about the closed doors thing, people seem to forget what the press or journalists main job implies, namely putting the info they recieve into written or spoken conclusions and impressions and more importantly sharing this with the general public afterwards.
It only goes to show there's so much to be informed about that a public presentation just can't do justice to as it would take too much time.

Was GT4 like the release of GT5, when everyone becomes angry on how the game is becoming delayed and only little info is provided by PD?

We didn't have the information overload courtesy of the internet, or should that me mis-information underload.

I do not think so, between GT3 and GT4, there was way less time, about 3 years. GT5 there is 5 year gap period, so everyone gets mad because of that mostly.

Close door session= Full demonstration of the Final yet buggy build.

Thats why they don't want video cameras. There will be glitches and they don't want to deal with the flack for a posted video with a car floating across the Nurburgring.

These things are normal. So, people need to take it for what it is and enjoy the ride. 👍

Oh yea, and welcome to the day we've all been waiting for. Hopefully, it will not disappoint. :D

LOL at the thought of the master version being buggy.

I think you are right in as much as there will be a video, but they have decided that they don't want the video to be recorded, for whatever reason.

This closed door thing is a bit of a worry, I guess it's safe to say we won't be getting GT5 within the next month or two, PD can be quite infuriating sometimes, to say the least.

Makes you wonder, when exactly are they going to be in a position to talk about the games features? I mean, whats the big secret? It's not like the competition is going to be able to come up with anything to go up against GT5 in the near future, so who are they trying to keep in the dark, and why?
