I'd much rather have personalization with the majority of cars over another feature or track added to the game, considering the amount of online play I'm looking forward to.

You wont probably even use more that 3 cars if you like a car why mod it shouldn't you like it for what it already is anyways to me what makes the car good and unique is the person driving style if you only have it to make it look good then the car owns you.

In terms of this feature maybe but GT5 has so many new features that are more important:

- rain
- day/night cycles
- rallying/NASCAR
- track editor
- damage

Would you give any of these up for the possibility to change rims?

Maybe it's because I´m not into the whole tuning thing, I never bothered with it in Forza either. I think road cars look fine the way they are, for example the BMW M cars... they´re carefully designed to look powerful while still maintaining a classy look... putting some bling-bling wheels on them would only destroy that.

Would I rather have wheels than those options? No.

Would I rather a game actually feature everything the previous game had to offer, and then some, before being released? Hell yeah!

Oh and not all wheels are about the "bling-bling" factor. Most totally enhance the look of the car itself (Even says it right there in the bubble), but wheels are also a place of weight reduction. They also totally change handling as you can have different sized wheel width and rim size. Then again you wouldn't know that as you're not into the "tuning thing."

I'm confused, that makes no sense. The picture shows "Standard issue wheels cannot be painted." Otherwise known as the stock wheels on a car. Same video, wheels icon says "Wheels cannot be changed on Standard Model cars."

Basically saying Premiums can have different wheels with different colors and the standards are stuck with whatever color and wheel they have from factory.

This makes sense. I hope it's really the way that it'll work out in the end.
 
I personally believe that the wording there has carefully been chosen in order to not make the Standard cars immediately look too much limited in customization options compared to Premium ones.

However, logically:

- Standard cars can't have custom wheels
- Only custom wheels can be painted

-> Standard cars can't have painted wheels.
 
I am REALLY finding it hard to care that I can't have painted or custom wheels on some cars.

But then again I am not one of those that "rolls on 24s, yo".

lol true but I meant the car model. It is exactly like GT4. They did not touch the model at all just put higher res textures. If i had a few hours with that model i would definitely make it look better than that (I'm a 3D artist so i know what I'm talking about)

Ahhh my only hope at this point is for DLCs to add more premium cars to the game

Im fairly certain they wont miss a trick regards DLC's and added cars. Im sure they wont be for free either. Then again nothing is these days. And to them its all about the money. So yeah im sure they have loads of premium rated cars that they intentionally held back putting into GT5 knowing that they can charge us in the future for them. I mean what better way than to keep its gamers happy until GT6 comes out?.

One way to start the happiness would be to actually release GT5 before GT6 :lol:

It has nothing to do with "these days," this is how business works. Of course it's all about money to them......they're in business to make money. I've never understood this attitude. You want to support someone who isn't in business to make money? Support a non-profit organization.

I do support our local organisations. Infact we (wife and i) just donated $800 to helping the homeless and to some animal shelters. Not quite sure if they were an actuall NPO, but we donate regardless.

Company's are all about money right?. Sony included right?. So with all these delays and fans being put out and all that, dont you think it would be a wise investment for them to actually first, give us a release date, and secondly dont charge us for added content in the future?. Obviously im guessing with that. Its not gonna happen i know but it would be nice for a company to look after its customers at some point.

Yes and often in a very negative way, just like those two shots you posted.

I think it's just a matter of taste, some people like this kind of look and other's don't. I rarely come across a "tuned" street car that I think looks better than the stock version, most tuning cars are just way overdone...

But I guess there's a market for that, so to each their own :)

But mostly, don't you think a car such as the Porsche GT3 or a Ferrari F430 or whatever does come with sufficient wheels in stock?

I don't think the wheels used for sports cars like that are seriously overweight or have any negative impact on the handling.

Aside from weight, size, and an extremely small aerodynamic effect, they are, and I highly doubt that even premium cars' custom wheels will differ in any of these areas.

I would presume it's similar to the racing mods in GT1 and 2; makes the car much lighter and applies racing stickers, rollbars, etc. Apparently there are multiple modifications now, though...

Yeah thats what I first thought when that clip came out. I know it must be hard to represent a whole stable of cars in one virtual location but I was really hoping they would have cracked it by now. Sheeeet, I would spend hours just moving around the garage admiring the work PD has put in over the years.

Sportscar, no, the wheels on those 2 cars do not need to be changed. But how about all of the street cars in game? Mustangs, Camaros, Civics, Skylines, Silvias...Surely they have room for upgrade.

And bduddy, don't be so quick to state without thinking. Weight reduction, yes. Size yes. Tire width? Yes. More grip, more handling with the ability to run a thicker wheel and a fatter tire. How about a staggered setup on a car with relatively nothing to offer in its wheel setup from factory?

i expected this to show random cars in your garage. thats good enough for me...i loves prologues presentation. but this, i could sit at the home menu for hours. **** the earth and saving power, this would be on my tv all day everyday.

was that the actual music tho? because that sold the entire thing...i got so emotional T_T

I'm not denying the usefulness of new wheels in real life, but I highly doubt that GT5 will offer any of those options, even for premium cars. And... an inch or more of stagger? :eek: Good luck keeping it straight...

Well, it's funny cause Forza 3 offers all of those options and their full effects, why wouldn't GT5? It's already implied that GT5 will feature weight reduction through wheels. But running different sized/wider tires on cars definitely changes the handling feel of the car.

And when did I ever say an inch or more of stagger?
