i expected this to show random cars in your garage. thats good enough for me...i loves prologues presentation. but this, i could sit at the home menu for hours. **** the earth and saving power, this would be on my tv all day everyday.

was that the actual music tho? because that sold the entire thing...i got so emotional T_T

No, the music was dubbed over.

It think this location will show on the main menu like it does in Prologue. Hopefully you can set which enviorment you want and which cars to display

I heard the ALMS and Rolex series licenses are more rigid than F1... Very hard to make a game supposedly...

PD might have gotten Rolex as a Sponsor..and they've got NASCAR...and some LeMans...I still think there should be a Grand Am game.

However, it looks like most of the cars from the Rolex, CTSCS and ALMS are in, so...we can pretend. :P

Grand Am/Rolex series is owned by NASCAR so I am sure NASCAR took priority in the situation, unfortunately.

Just a reminder, the wheel selection is only limited to premium cars. You can still do it, just not on standards.
 
I cant see why we wouldnt be able to change wheels on a standard car :S whats the hook, really?

But on a second thought.. maybe u can change the wheels if u use racing modification on it, and "standard model issue" means 100% car.. but its more likley to be the biggest let down in GT5 tbh since theres not many premiums and i dont think Nissan Silvias are premiums :guilty:👎

If this is the biggest letdown in GT5, then GT5 is doing pretty damn well so far. Because on a scale of 1 to 10 on the care meter, this is a 1.

Aside from weight, size, and an extremely small aerodynamic effect, they are, and I highly doubt that even premium cars' custom wheels will differ in any of these areas.

Actually wheels play a larger factor in weight than you might think. Because it is the wheels that do the turning, weight is multiplied by a much larger factor then weight reduction done to the rest of the car. So lighter rims are very important in a race car.

Have you guys notice that under ENGINE block icon it says that you have to restore it after some time? How freaking awesome is that? !!!! Same goes with car body. SO the more you drive your car, the older it gets, and just like in real life it needs engine and body restoration to keep it running best.
 
that 11 minute intro clip actually shows more of the dealership selection screens... when you choose the actual cars a second time it gives you multiple background views etc... very classy!! can't wait to view those puppies in HD :-)

Yeah its cool. One would assume that power and handling slowly become compromised after time and the solution is to perform engine restoration to bring back the horsepower and body restoration to bring to handling back to its best. What remains to be seen is how much the damage system will play into this. For example can 10 bad races with high damage cause greater wear than 100 clean races for example, or would be be purely based on mileage?

Wasnt Body restoration in GT4 too. Anyway in GT4 you needed to change the oil every once in a while to restore its power but after time you didnt get all the power back after a certain ammounts of oil change. So this engine overhaul is a good thing. This makes the game even more interesting.

I guess my roadster will make it in the standard cars list, it wouldn't stand a chance in a race but i love it (and so does Tiff :sly:).

The Nissan dealership is crazy, so many GT-R variations. There are more premium GTRs than premium lamborghinis, fans and owners will be in heaven :dopey:

Yes the "overhaul engine" and "repair body" options are a great new addition to the series.

Someone asked above if the "repair body" was in GT4. No it was not but you could wash the car body to help with some of the aerodynamics.
 
There wasn't a repair body option, but there was an option for chassis restoration in the weight reduction / roll cage section.

Yes it was yes :D

The process was called Chasis Rigidity Refresh, it was part of Tuning Shop and it would bring back torsional rigidity of the car after too many distance covered in one vehicle.

Notice that chasis rigidity was declining faster if you'd crash the car more.

You could increase the overall body-structure stifnes by installing a rollbar (process was named "Increase Chassis Rigidity").

Chasis Rigidity Refresh was a very expensive process, 45.000 Cr if I recall.

Many never realised you were also damaging the engine faster with usage of NOS or constant revving into red-area of revs, which was damaging the engine (HP amount) permanently, without possibility to be repaired by Oil Change process.

In short, damage was implemented in GT4 on titally different margin than in any other driving game outhere and I relly can't wait to see how everything will be done in conjuction with new damage model.

On the notice, it is also great to see the further enhancement of the "ownership" philosophy - GT remains to expand it's most important and distinctive RPG feature.

ok, so there is a video of the races in a-spc. is there really only 9 championships for each one? this is the first disappointment i have seen. it makes the game seem really short to me :-/ i mean dont get me wrong i know its gonna take a while even for those 9, but i could have sworn gt4 had a TON of them.
