Cheers Alex. Holy 🤬 you can hear that distinct Zonda sound! It sounded like what I expected, although I can't judge it 100% with the quality of the sound in the video, but from what I hear, I'm pretty confident PD have finally improved the sound!

How did it sound to you when you were there Alex?

Honestly, I didn't hear much more than that what can be heared from the video you know? lol

^ sounded great but i was lmao when he kept spinning out :)

Haha, guys I only had 2 hours of sleep and I tell you, when you drive this car without traction control with pro physics and touch the grass or make a sudden "turn movement", it's gone, this car is insane lol.

i know you tried your best, it was funny and you did some nice donuts. :)

Wow! That Zonda sounds amazing in GT5. Just unbelievable though of how uncontrollable it is. I can't wait to try it out for myself :P. Cheers Alex for the video!

Thanks alot Alex, awesome video.
Skidmarks-awesome
Smoke-Awesome
Debris kicking up-Awesome
Sparks-Awesome
Physics-look great
Exhaust backfire-NEED!

Apect ratio seems squashed? That TV is widescreen right?
His vid is in 4:3 which, I guess, is why it looks squashed. If he sets the vid back to 16:9, everything should be back to normal...

Alex P ~ Do you usually play in the "chase car" view? I personally could never get the hang/feel of driving in that view. But you seem to be doing well enough 👍
And the Zonda looked super-twitchy... wow! Thanks for the vid!

I'm loving the smoke effects along with the skidmarks. Plenty of hints to prove that drifters were around  ;)

Notice the new particle effects and the skidmarks, nice! And yes I know my driving sucked.

Spiffing footage! Don't think your driving sucked in any way and in addition, it shows off all the goodies PD has implemented.

They seem to have incorporated quite a lot of the unevenness of the track, which in turn makes you spin if you floor it on the wrong section of the track. That should make for additional weeks of fun because it ads a whole new layer of learning and conquering the track.

I'm very surprised you could actually hear a comparatively great deal of the engine!

Looking forward what Alba brings home.

Thanks alot!

Nice vid Alex p, but to be fair, I'm not going to kiss booty on the driving skills side because you did suck!

Regarding the skid marks, I highly doubt you will be able to lay down as many as you want and have them all persist for the duration of the race though.

 In his defense though, the ZondaR is a fierce car to control, put it on the Ring and it's like going on a rollercoaster ride.

10. That is by far my favourite one and I finally managed to upload it. Pagani Zonda R '09 on Nürburgring 24h version. Driven in pro physics, no driving aids, soft slick tyres. Boy oh Boy that car was a monster to drive, almost uncontrolable at high speeds.

Oh and... you will get a glimpse of me.:embarrassed:

30 second loading time for a biggest track in the game! 👍
(this is a great improvement over previous demo!)

Well done PD!

Well done PD!

The loading times are really quite good. I don't know if they did something to the demo in specific, but from choosing "Arcade race" to selecting a car (there's a small delay in the thumbnails showing up) to picking the track and finally hitting the race, it's all very smooth and no-one seemed to notice the wait. I didn't.

Longest track doesn't necessarily mean more complex, in my opinion.
Shorter city tracks probably have an equal amount of data to load.

Man you don't need to make it more complex than it is - other tracks are loading obliviously faster. :)
(maybe they are loaded partially (good in license tests) and/or game has loading time limit to 30 sec, both are very good!)

If you watch the video again you'll see he only looses it on high speed sections when he runs over the kerb, the car is probably not setup to run over kerbs at such high speeds.

You have to take the surroundings into account. Most clubs have a quieter atmosphere, either Sony or the Hama booth next to them, featuring Rock Band, trying to block out the noise from the other by simply cranking up the volume to the max.

This being Germany, the homeland of rules, regulations and health and safety, to be honest I can't quite understand how they can pull this off.

So you are left with weak FFB and almost unnoticeable sound.

So don't be too harsh with your judgement, most likely you will never drive GT5 under such conditions.

The videos have all been great so far and unless it's direct video capture rather than off screen footage it's probably not going to get significantly better although I am really looking forward to Alba and Denur's footage if they can get sound direct from the TV's.

Alex P's last video of the Zonda R on the ring was great IMO, I don't really want to see a perfect lap with nothing interesting happening so it's much better to see how the car behaves when it loses grip and crashes at a variety of speeds. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have keep it on track any better with no sound or FFB.

It's really nice to see the sparks have been toned down since the last demo, obviously PD wanted to see what people thought of them and were listening.

Is it possible if I could request someone at gamescom to find out something for me. What do the go karts sound like on tickover and throughout the rev range? I just want to know whether it is realistic or not. If this is possible I would be really pleased if not then thats cool you probably are really busy. ;)

FOR SOMEONE @GAMESCOM:

can you see HD light on PS3 if is every blinking? this means that GT5 use a cache on HD to charge circuit sector in real time.

Hey guys, alba and Denur here live from Gamescom. We have captured lots of videos and sounds at the GT5 booth all day today and with some editing it could give us a clearer picture about the whole sound business within GT5.

Unfortunately, in this demo there was no way to turn down the music so all the recordings we got has music in it but Im going to try to edit it out the best I can.

We have pretty much all the cars left out from footage on the net already... Like the Castrol Supra and the M5 and we even have karts sounds so yeah hopefully things turns out alright.

alba out, Denur in:
I would like to apologize beforehand for my louzy driving. Hate driving without sound. ;)
But got drive a lap with headphones (GTR) and I was pleased, the deep rumble is there.

We saw a nice thing with the AI when a kid was driving. He was doing a Shummy (park the car in a wall so no one can pass) and one of the AI cars eventually decided to back up, to make room to pass the car. Very nice.

Photo mode was in this build too, but without a controller, we couldn´t do much. Got some footage though.

So hello from alba and Denur live from Gamescom and we will try to get you the content from the show as soon as possible. Cheers!

Should probably be up tomorrow as I edit them and put them up on the GTPlanet youtube account. Until then, have a nice day!

:tup Thanks for the update Alba and Denur. Sounds like you've had fun and it's been productive. Can't wait for the footage :D
