Best thing to do for all us in the UK is to go to bed tonight and have a nice dream about GT5 and then in the morning turn on your PC's and see what's been said.

We will all be blown away as we will have loads of cars to drive on some ace tracks.

I just really need to see skid marks - please oh please.

That new Ferrari 458 Itallia vid,when it takes of in the pit lane dosen't show tire marks.Concerning.Or maybe it was just an easy take off.

Anyway,I'd be kinda dissapointed if there were no marks left from laying rubber as so many other games do it.

It did actually wheel spin - you see the wheels go round a few revolutions before moving - so no skidmarks - it doesn't like like we are getting them then does it!!

Well I hope you are wrong, I don't think those advancements are difficult to achieve for a game of GT5's caliber by a developer as experienced and established as PD. I'd have to actually see these features in the game though, not just a published feature list, fell for that before...

Oh I agree, but based on the series progression to-date, and what we have heard, I have my doubts. Love to proven wrong though.

Things like tyre marks, yeah, that should be a given. You would think the ability to paint any car in any colour and any finish should be a given, but I'm sure that for accuracy, we'll only get colours that match those available if you were to order a car. That means a very limited choice for some, and thousands of shades for others.

Oh well, not too much longer to wait hopefully, but I'll buy it regardless and just grow with it as the DLC rolls in.

I've been waiting for 5 years Nomino. I don't need to tell you how much I'd want a good GT5 to bring me back to the driving game that started my automotive love affair. If it turns out as disappointing as GT PSP I'm going to be close to tears.:(

Same here mate, we've all been waiting, but I'm just trying to be realistic based on how things have progressed across the console generations before. At the end of the day, I bought my PS3 for this game. I haven't got any other racing game like it (not counting Prologue), so anything that expands on Prologue is a win for me.

If tyre marks, full damage modelling on all cars, rolliing cars, aero kits, and the ability to have complete control over the look of your car are what matters, there is always Forza 3. I'm not saying that in a derogatory manner, it's just the reality of it unfortunately.

Fingers crossed eh?!

As for GT PSP, I'm torn on that one. Do we want the full racing experience on a handheld? Not so sure I do - after all, they are more "pick up and play" devices, and that's not really what GT has traditionally been about.

Stop being pedantic. :dunce: I never said I played it. I was referring to all the reviews I've read and seen, at least 6 of them gave it quite bad scores.
 
All for having no career mode which was already known..

let me put it this way,

your on this website and you have a ps3, you will purchase GT5 even if there are no tiremarks or rollover, your fooling no one
 
This may have already been asked but can someone explain why there won't be any live video streaming of the press conferences this year?

Every other year most gaming sites have hosted a stream and even put up a special TGS section but this year sites like Gamespot havent got anything! Its really bizzare!

Did somehow TGS become less important this year?? Its the biggest show of the year with E3!

I think that was his point all along, actually. If it doesn't have every feature that Forza has, then it's not worth buying, regardless of how many features it has that Forza doesn't.

Patently ridiculous, of course, but yeah, if Forza offers any feature that GT doesn't, it automatically "wins" as far as Cobra is concerned.
 
I am still keeping my "review" of GT PSP till I play it, some people who I trust in a proper assessment have played it and thought it was fantastic.

As it is am looking forward to the conference, but with an open mind.

Well I genuinely think those 6 things I want to sway me GT5's way really aren't that unrealistic. Reason why I think this time it will be different? FM3!;) Competition, most times, brings out the best in game developers. Maybe the fact FM3 is so good will give PD the push it needs to bring back it's flash of genius I remember from the days of GT, GT2 and GT3.:bowdown:

I had a think today, being as realistic as I could be, decided that if the following major advancements are to be in GT5, whenever it will be released, I'll buy it.

Here we go:

-Full damage on all cars
-Rollover on all cars
-All car models of the same quality*
-Tyre marks
-Aero upgrades: front splitters, front canards, rear diffusers and rear wings
-Ability to save multiplayer replays
-Ability to paint any car in any colour I want

*I'd rather all car models either of GT5P quality or just the premium cars to start with, and add the GT5P cars as DLC regularly as they reach premium quality.

Given that Kaz has rarely been swayed by what goes on with Forza, I can't see him chasing the craze this time around. He's a perfectionist, and wants what he does deliver to be the best it can be. If you genuinely think Forza 3 is vastly superior, get an Xbox 360 and enjoy it. Problem solved!
 
I'm still not quite done with speculating on the digital download subject. Here's another crazy idea.

Probably there is still quite a few GT5P copies in stores for quite a low price. If Sony announced tomorrow that GT5 will be available for GT5P owners via DD a little bit sooner than others, would it motivate people to purchase GT5P? Probably not...

Thankyou for the the link but it doesnt explain why there are no video streamed press conferences this year. At every TGS Sony, MS and Nintendo always do their thing. I remember been up at like 2am watching it last year!

Fair enough, did I call you pedantic, did I tell you that what you think is not realistic? No, why the need to make opnions about me? You can buy it and enjoy GT5 for what it means to you and what you want out of it. Why can't I have my own preference, opinon and choice? Why can't I have my hopes and my standards? How about freedom of speech without persecution? Come on, use your head, what so wrong and threatening with my post?
 
Damn it, the only night I have an early night is usually Wednesday, as I work early Thursdays. Any other night I stay up until 3am at least... Well hopefully I'll wake up to some good news from tgs. I'll be on my phone's internet all day tomorrow soaking in all the new info...

I said FM3 is good, not superior, not vastly superior. I have an XBOX360 and will most likely buy FM3. I'm also hoping to buy a PS3 Slim and GT5, I'm just waiting, well hoping, TGS will give me the reasons I need, key word here, I, to make that decision. That's all my post was about. Hardly nailing GT5 on the cross...:crazy:

Played the final game have you? That statement (along with your other posts) implies that FM3 is so good that it is showing up GT5 in most areas.

I would be an excited puppy if PD just showed racing without bumper cars. If they do that, I will sleep tonight like a baby in anticipation of GT5 in December.
