A reviewer with very respectable knowledge in sim racing gives constructive criticism and valid arguments, oh no, he is obviously biased, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Now apologists are starting to trash other really good games just because they don't have ''GT'' on the cover.

I say every and any fan stops everything from evolving. And who is apologizing?
I wasn't referring to anyone specifically in my post, but just skimming through the first page has led me to believe that the people in this thread have a hard time dealing with criticism.

Ohh, okay. Although that happens with every frachises.

You missed out then, the infected game mode on the gymkhana compounds was some of the most fun I've ever had online in a racing game.
Oh, I played the infected mode alright and enyoyed the 'playground', I just didn't care much for the actual Gymkhana stuff itself.

Then you bought the game for the wrong reasons. Dirt was never meant to be a full rally game, that's what WRC games are for, as you stated. So your gripes with Dirt don't hold much water. If you got bored or didn't like it because it wasn't what you wanted, that's on you...
Hang on a minute, Dirt was a full rally game with a few hillclimb, buggy and racing rigs added. D2 incorporated yet more disciplines and D3 went further afield, so saying that Dirt was never meant to be a rally game isn't really correct initially - a lot of people kept with the series in the hope that it would revert back to the type of game Codemasters were known.

Ergo: Toko's points were valid.

So it's okay for you to trash GT6 - a game you've not got or played, yet when someone else apparently trashes another game...it's not alright?

Thank you @MeanElf. :)👍 But watch out, he'll probably assume you're somehow defending GT, even though you didn't even mention it.

What I meant by not being intended to be a full on rally game, was not something like WRC. Dirt focused more on the X-Games type rally. Rally cross, gymkhana etc. It never focused fully on the actual rally part of it.

The whole reason Dirt was brought up in the first place was to compare sounds of GT to another game, then you started bashing Dirt3 for being boring when that had nothing to do with the discussion, and IIRC don't you have a history of defending GT to the nth degree?

Mainly because it lacked rally, hillclimb and rally cross events. The gymkhana events are why I say Dirt 3 is boring, and you can't skip them unless you want to complete the game. Online wasn't to bad, kinda, but still perfer Dirt 1. And show me where I defend GT. I do, but sometimes. Oh wait, you'll probably check my post history to use as your source...

Just don't assume based on my post, I was defending GT, because I wasn't. Also sure the sounds in Dirt 3 are good, but there aren't the only things that'll keep me playing for long.

So what's your problem if he finds Dirt3 boring? And what if it doesn't have to do anything wit the discussion. If you don't like it, ignore it!
BTW I find GT6 BOOOOOOOOORING!!!! And I have been playing since I was 23 years old. And that was 17 years ago...

He pretty much sums up all the stuff we've been saying on the boards since GT5 launched.

I have to agree with him on most accounts. But I'd say the physics are great overall and that is at the core of the game and where I have the most fun.

Hear us PD!

The physics are the area I love the most. I won't lie, I had a blast the first few days GT6 launched feeling the cars move around and the amount of feedback you get with the new physics. I still enjoy the physics, now that the "honeymoon stage" has worn off I think they still need some work, but overall a big step in the right direction.

The biggest hamper on that now, IMO is the broken tuning system, mainly the camber adjustments. It's a piss off having to run 0 camber on everything right now.

Yea, backward tuning isn't tuning.

Seven out of ten is fair. Also, I don't want to get involved but Dirt games are arcade fun. They aren't true successors to the McRae series.

I can trash the parts of the game that aren't up to the industry standards which are a lot because those are facts, trashing other games which undeniably do better than GT in said things just for the sake of hopelessly defend GT's honor is what many here are doing which BTW, I never said they couldn't do it, like always, I'm just pointing it out and maybe they'll see for themselves.

Typical reaction from these people when they can't refute a negative argument, they try to lower down other games to GT's level, even when these other games aren't even mentioned.

Funny, I haven't noticed that in anyone's comments...

As a long time GT fan I can't help but agree with Darin's comments in this review. I expect GT6 to have more features than GT5 but no, features instead go missing in GT sequels. AI is still terrible, sounds are below par, career mode continues to be a grind.

GT has lost its way and unless it finds its way again in spectacular style there'll be no PS4 or GT7 for me.

Fair review. He pointed out the good as well as the bad.

My only issue is that he didn't do any online racing, and the number of blue lines visible in a few of the things he was doing in game make it perfectly possible to do that.

Having said that, I feel that 7 out of 10 is generous, if anything, until this game gets come considerable patching.

What you say pretty much exactly sums up my view as well. I think it's a fair review. 👍

The force feedback including weight transfer is actually really really good on a T500 in GT6. I have to admit that the sounds really never bothered me that much, but now that I have tried Assetto Corsa I kinda get where everyone is coming from. :)

So sounds, race creator/editor and better and more challenging AI is on my wishlist.

The track collection and quality of tracks is out of this world though, and I'm still gonna have a lot of fun hotlapping Bathurst, Brands Hatch and the one Ring to rule them all. :)

I am not insecure or like some people here posting reviews of someone else to make them feel good/bad about a game.

I will probably write a short review or something after some 200hrs or spec2 if they update the game like GT5. I have done more than 110hrs so far and it is amazing game. I would probably give. It 9/10
