So far, two out of three. I think think the third is a possibility. PD wouldn't be that cruel... again.
MOTOR17202124535.jpg

Could say that Genesis will be in GT7? Due to the latest news about Genesis and GT Sport, it's posible that Genesis will be in GT7 with the G70, the G70 Gr. 4, the prototype Genesis X, the X Gr. 3 and the VGT.

I shall now make my own prediction, based on some confirmed ones, and lots of the ones that fit in some kind of criteria. Lets say that only Porsche, Lambo VGT remain to be added plus other 12 by the end of the year. If not those 12 are IMO most likely to appear.
Lexus LF-A - either one or both versions. Toyota just appears in every update, besides 2 last ones and Audi VGT one, and Lexus could service Toyota and be that obligatory Japanese return.
Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing - highly requested and sought after in community.
Ferrari 500 Mondial - It was meant to be in GT6 but was axed. I think that its being put on hold.
Nissan GT-R50 Italdesign - Its a GTR and yet unique enough to get added.
Ford Sierra RS500 - a highly requested car, only behind Supra and E30.
Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II - returning standard
Plymouth Cuda - muscle cars are requested and this seems most likely
Toyota GRMN Vitz - its Japanese, bonkers and Toyota,
Mitsubishi FTO - only this and SL55 remain out of Kazonuri Yamauchi owned cars
Mazda RX8 - either the 2007 one, or facelift one
Honda Civic tuned - scanned SEMA car
some kind of new japanese racecar, like very new, for example GT500 '19 or '20 one(s).

Now onto the predictions for next game. I think that, 3 times more cars like GT2 vs GT1 is impossible. So i was inspired by new cars for GT6 at launch comparing to GT5 and 3 years of gap, there have been new 150, around 50% new premiums. So I will predict there will be no more than 200 new cars if including outsourcing. This list is very top off my head, including many cars in making (SEMA, Pebble Beach etc), very relevant GT series cars, and some future cars. Out of 200, I will pick 50% premiums returning, 25% returning standards and PS1 era cars, 25% totally new ones. Also those cars above aren't just GTS update predictions, but also predictions for next game if they don't come to GTS (which is very likely IMO).

Returning premiums.

-300 SL road version but we have race car
-Toyota Aqua
-Castrol Supra
-Scirocco R
-155 TI V6
-KPGC10 Skyline
3 premiums and 2 standards very happy lol
LP640 and CGT were added to fill out numbers when I made these lists, obviously not counting these.

It is my belief that PD has held back some tracks from the preview.

I think that some of the stalwart tracks like Silverstone, Monaco, Motegi, will be there day one.

There's no way that PD could not have these tracks there.

People said the same when GT Sport was first announced....

We had to wait a good while for Spa. Don't know why the other tracks never came to the Sport game.

Edit: Seeing the return of the KPGC Skyline and the new to the franchise 429 Mustang, I think we'll see these:

A return of the muscle cars with us being able to recreate one of the biggest eras in stock car racing.

The Super Bee was a surprise in GT Sport. However, it still didn't have an equivalent representative, from Ford and Chevy, in the game. The Pony cars are there for the Big Three. Now, with the 429 Mustang, Trans-Am racing is nearly complete.
If Kaz really wants to talk about shapes to recognise and remember, can't exclude the muscle car era.

At the rate of the first 2 trailers, I can see every Japanese car in GT Sport returning. It makes sense, PD always commits more to Japanese cars. So it wouldn't be any different here.

I don't think we can discount the idea of GT7 being a lot like GTS as far as DLC goes, where there's a ton of free content - including tracks. This is where I think we could see Motegi, Monaco, Silverstone, and maybe even the Goodwood Hillclimb if they're absent at GT7's launch. Another thing to consider is that even with this latest trailer, we might not be looking at a 100% finalized version of GT7 - one conspicuous thing that sticks out in the recent trailer is when there's a wheel being tried on and it's described as a center-lock wheel, but we can see it's a five-lug wheel.

Well, now we pretty much know all the cars from GT Sport should be in GT7, I get the cars from my birth year again(Mach 1, Pantera, 365GTB4, Dino and AMG 300SEL) .

There is also a "new" to GT7 addition, but a blast from the past, in the 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R KPGC10(as per the GTPlanet updated car list).

A safe prediction, if PD are continuing down this nostalgic path, might see past GT cars from 1971:

  • 1971 Dodge Charger
  • 1971 Charger Super Bee
  • 1971 Lotus Elan
  • 1971 Lotus Europa
  • 1971 240ZG
  • 1971 Plymouth Road Runner
  • 1971 Plymouth Cuda
  • 1971 Lunar Rover ;)

A total of 14 cars from 1971. Not many. If we get more cars from '71, I'll be over the.... moon.:dopey:

Also, I'm thinking PD might be clever in bringing the AMG 190E Evolution and 190E DTM, as its widebody option. Same with the AMG CLK and CLK DTM. The cars could remain separate as they've been in the past. Like the Alfa 155(we can see the Alfa 155 seems to be its own car, not a racing modification). Only reason I think PD could make them widebody options is, the NSX widebody in the trailer, isn't its own separate model(though we haven't seen the complete car list) like the past NSX-LM GT2 from GT1.

Anyway, I'm cool with the car list so far.

I'm wondering how would PD handle Targa Florio, if they chose to make it. I know there's a minimal chance but it's a shame, especially if we have most of those cars in GTS.

We have some Gr. 2 cars in GTS. It is not so much and I hope we'll have more returning cars like Supra GT500.
Remember my absolutely dream car in GT4: Audi A4 Touring Car '04
Maybe some different cars to them, younger DTM cars as example

It would match perfectly in Group 2 and we'll have some diversity from Japanese cars, which are at some point very boring again and again.
Potentially we can have much different Gr. 2 cars

I honestly don't really know about Monaco. I get that it's a great course with a lot of history, especially in F1, but I don't know if it'd really be great for racing, especially online. One thing I will say is that if it returns, I hope there's dynamic weather included, as rain has typically been a factor at Monaco.
Looking at the top suggested cars https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/cars.339/?order=first_post_reaction_score&direction=desc

Weve got 8(I think the Aston Martin is confirmed) out of the 35, on the first page. There are a fair many that seem ripe to be in GT7. I mean, good cases to be in this game. Maybe a debut for the Sierra Cosworth, a return of the E46 CSL fully rendered, finally the McLaren P1.
Yeah, I'd love to see the regular P1 alongside the P1 GTR, and maybe even other modern McLaren models, like the 720S and/or the Senna.

Monaco great track, but I think I won't do there any online races in GT.
Just in the lobby with friends.

This is a track I don't need in the next GT. I prefer other tracks and only do there some time challenges

As I just posted in a less relevant topic....

If Pikes Peak is one of the remaining tracks to be revealed, and it really should be considering they've had the exclusive license since late 2016, then I think we will see a return of all the PP cars from the past like the Escudo, and a couple of recent ones.

I think PP and Grand Valley set in the US somewhere would be my two solid predictions for remaining new (over GTS) tracks, and a handful of PP cars.

IMG_20210921_183416.png

The translation might be a bit off, but you know that this might be an indicator that the glorious Prius is predicted to be in GT7.

Looking at new and returning cars (discounting GTS obviously) here is the composition of them
returning premium 6/35 including EVO VI TME
returning standard 6/35
returning PS1 exclusive 0/35
new to series 22/35 including stealth RX-Vision

South Korea 3/35 including new brand Genesis
Japan 10/35
USA 3/35
UK 3/35 including new brand BAC
Germany 10/35 including 8 Porsches
Italy 6/35
France 0/35 including other countries that are more obscure.

Alfa Romeo 2/35
Aston Martin 1/35
BAC 1/35
De Tomaso 1/35
Ferrari 1/35
Ford 3/35
Genesis 3/35
Jaguar 1/35
Lamborghini 2/35
Mazda 2/35
Mercedes-Benz 2/35
Mitsubishi 2/35
Nissan 4/35
Porsche 7/35
Toyota 2/35
VW 1/35

until 1945 2/35
1945-1970 6/35
1970-1995 4/35
1995-2010 9/35
2010-2020 9/35 including Lambo VGT
2020+ 5/35 including all three Genesis, Porsche and Jaguar VGTs.

I shall base my prediction on the fact that GTS content will remain including so far revealed cars which bumps the number to 363. That leaves 57-67 spots. I will use compositions above as reference, but I believe that some PS1/French cars could appear too. I marked my predictions in bold and italic together with ordinary text for GT7 list so far.

Also, could the covercar be Porsche VGT or something else?

Just thinking of the Mazda dealership:

the Mazda NB was available as the NR-A model. There’s a new ND version

As shown, it has a roll cage and racing buckets. A similar car is shown in the early builds of GT Sport, but we never got access to it. Wonder if we’ll get this as an alt to the Mazda TC. Especially with Kaz saying roll cages can be added to cars.
