Considering the PS5's Kraken compression, how big are we expecting the PS5 version of GT7 to be?
Yeah, for me, nvme gen4 ssd's are way too expensive at the moment. Not having been able to upgrade my console's storage yet, I'm honestly dreading it.
Could use an external HDD if you're willing to wait longer.Yeah, for me, nvme gen4 ssd's are way too expensive at the moment.
Nah I'll be fine with storage for now, it's because I have GT Sport which takes up like 125gb so once 7 comes out I'll delete it.Could use an external HDD if you're willing to wait longer.
That isn't going to be accurate on PS5 I'm quite sure. Every game is smaller on PS5 than ps4. Usually much smaller.GT7 is going to be an absolute beast of a game in terms of file size, especially on the PS5, where you will need at least 110GB.View attachment 1107723
Well that's the quoted expected size on PS5. GT7 on PS4 will definitely be significantly larger than GT Sport (I wouldn't be surprised if it's COD-like, and PS4 users are expected to face the long copying times whenever updates are around), and with the compression on the PS5, that's how it came to be.That isn't going to be accurate on PS5 I'm quite sure. So much for "releasing the Kraken", I guess. If the game on PS5 takes up 110GB with that kraken compression, I would suspect the PS4 version to be around 150+GB
Yeah. The whole article seems off. This is the store page the article links to. Unless I'm going blind I can't see any reference to the file size?

Well if it didn't have kraken, it would be much higher. So much for "releasing the Kraken", I guess.
Someone on /r/GT says that it was very briefly there on the store page, but now it's gone. This is the store page the article links to. Unless I'm going blind I can't see any reference to the file size?

How "briefly" and when? There's been no changes between the last cached version at 0654 UTC today and the last Archive.org page at 0308 UTC on January 16, and the current version.Someone on /r/GT says that it was very briefly there on the store page, but now it's gone.
So twistedvoxel wrote that article based on someone on the subreddit rather than actually seeing it themselves then, and without evidence.Someone on /r/GT says that it was very briefly there on the store page, but now it's gone.
An actual human being wrote that, 100% seriously. The mind truly boggles. How do you compare Forza's money grinding to GT's? Personally for me, Forza's easy grind is what turns me off to play the game for a long period of time, it's just that you can finish the whole game in a few months, meanwhile GT's grinding took me a week just to buy a Ford GT (In GT4), was worth it.
That comment I was referring to was actually on one covering this:So twistedvoxel wrote that article based on someone on the subreddit rather than actually seeing it themselves then, and without evidence.
/u/niceveinsThe file size isn’t listed on the PlayStation store anymore. I doubt it will be this big when it actually released. At least not for PS5.
Oh, well that person doesn't actually confirm they personally saw it then, just that it isn't there now after they read the article. So apparently only twistedvoxel saw it. Odd.
While it only hints at minimum storage size, this also confirms that the PS4 version will have an install and play disc.PlayStation Direct1-2 players. 2-20 network players. PlayStation®Plus subscription required [for online multiplayer]. 110GB minimum. DualShock®4 vibration function supported. 2 Discs. Online Play Optional. PS4 Pro Enhanced.
Case in point:The sizes from that site are often based on inaccurate data too. They don't usually match the finished product.
