It really is dark out here in these GT streets right now, at least until the big VR update.

If only we were blessed with a wide variety of weekly/bi-weekly events to keep us busy until then. Perhaps one might even go so far as to call them SEASONAL events... 🤔🤔🤔

Nah, that's ridiculous. PD would never come up with a genius idea in one game only to scrap it forever.
There’s a bi-weekly time trial - is that not seasonal?

I wouldn't even mind half the prize money if there is something challenging to do every week.
Not twice a month.

What I don’t understand is how PD feel they can afford to skip a month’s worth of content so early into the life of GT7. World Circuits is like a barren wasteland in terms of different and interesting events to keep players interested. It was already bad those months they added only three new events to keep things fresh, but now nothing has happened since mid-December. Additionally, last month’s Clubman Cup 600 at Nürburgring is crippled by a ridiculous payout. The game needs attention, which they also acknowledged in-game on January 13th. The solution? Give it none. Brillant!

I don't know how to tell you all this... so I'll just come out and say it.

The two 25th Anniversary events were the seasonal events.

We may get more, we may not.

Looking at GT Sport's update history, the first time they skipped a month was June of 2018, basically 8 months after the game launched. Then they skipped another one in October of 2018, exactly a year after the game released.
They're dropping the VR2 update soon so I don't think it's unfair to cut them some slack on this regard, they probably need to get everything ready for launch.

GT Sport updates brought 5-7 cars on average and a new circuit every two months. GT7 is far behind.

it could have been sold as an expansion of Gran Turismo Sport
Sure, let’s force everyone to first buy and install GT Sport before they can play GT7. Then let’s make GT7 overwrite GT Sport so you can’t play it again unless you uninstall GT7. Great idea.

Exactly a single time trial every 2 weeks. Seriously? Other games have tons of weekly and monthly events. We are stucked to tre daily(weekly) races and on time trial every 2 weeks. Wow! I am impressed

Back in GT5/GT6 times, we would've had like 3 time trials going right now, 10 races with incredible payouts, and a few drift trials on top of that.
If you wanted to get some fun and varied races going with other players, you'd just hop in a shuffle lobby/Quick Match and that'd be it.

Now, though, we are in a drought. And all the innovative and exciting features we had back then have been tossed to the wayside. Not to mention the fact that the community spirit seems to be entirely dead.

Yes Is a great idea, 90% of content in GT7 Is recycled from gt sport

Look no further then Overwatch 2 to see how "great" an idea that is

Spoiler Alert: it isn't.

We could have also drag races online or time trial version of them for example. I mean seriously lots of stuff they could easily implement. The just do not want to do it

For the first time in ages i missed the daily km, been weeks since i force myself to do it, if it wasn't for that wouldn't touched the game for some time.

Hmm, I wonder if the low grid count for many of the races, were in anticipation of VR.
Interesting thought but I'm not sure that would be the case if the full game is available in VR, that must mean races with full grids are availalbe in it too. If for any reason grid sizes end up reduced in VR then you might be on to something.

Mentioned it because I thought someone posted grids lower than 20. Not just because of 16/16 Lobby grids.
Sure, low grid sizes been a thing at the beginner stages of GT campaigns. The low grid Chilli races, could be an aid to allow players a chance to pass less cars.
If VR allow 20 cars per grid, it's a serious win for us all.

PS4 is going to be a bottleneck before PS5 on VR2 is
Or PD themselves. How, if they have, did PD get more than one car working on the VR2 PS4? Granted, we don't know full details, but if PD got 12 cars working on PS4, how'd they do that? They could only get one car in GTSport.

So, PS4 wouldn't have been the problem. Just PD choosing to limit the option.
Again, I don't know, but they're always doing stuff like this. Guess we'll find out in a Q&A.

The PS4 doesn't support PSVR2. It's PS5 exclusive.

I'm not sure I follow, the PS4 version doesn't support VR and especially not VR2 which is only compatible with PS5. What I'm saying is that anything related to the grid size of events, Sport mode, etc is going to be limited by PS4 first before getting to a point where the VR2 version can't handle it but the flatscreen one can.

For GT Sport, I don't think there's much they could do to get more cars in. The CPU of that console is a potato and the game already has a heavy graphical downgrade to support one car, something like Driveclub VR has a bigger grid of I think 7 AI cars? But the game also looks significantly worse and the physics aren't as sophisticated as something trying to be a sim like GT.

Ah, gotcha. Understood.

Yes, I was confused he was saying it was limited by VR support for PS4. All good.

We haven't gone without a content update for this long in quite a while. Hopefully we'll get something soon enough.

Are this consistent lap times?

Don't get mad about it...

Consistency for good ones is staying within +-1/10s
Consistency for less good ones is whatever you define for yourself, with the objective to improve

8 laps, no major errors, I'd say it's a good consistent run

try to understand where the variance in coming from, accept slower laps with less variance, things will bild up
