Looks fantastic! The scenery is probably the most impressive so far, and I can't wait to look at it from the bridge in VR!
My dad was driving a DS19 long ago, and even if many young people might not even know about its existence, it was an iconic car in 50~80's, especially in Europa. It appears in a huge lot of movies from this period!
In last update, 4 out of 5 cars were from after 2016. The last one was the Celica GT-four which was a long expected, and it's not that old.
This 1.29 update is a good counter-balance, especially when once again, cars from before 90's are way under-represented, and cars from before 70's even more. You've got to realize that neither classics enthousiasts nor brand new cars enthousiasts are a majority of GT fanbase, both represent huge numbers and PD has to compose with all of them. And I assume that most car lovers enjoy both of them and don't just look at the year tag more than the car's feel and characteristics.
Also, the 60's are considered by many as the golden age of racing. There was a lot of deadly accidents, which led to stricter regulations, but drivers were seen like heroes back then, driving raw speed monsters when there were no driving assists at all and safety was an abstract word. A simple race incident was way too often synonym of death. It's a good thing that safety became a priority, but the counterpart is that less thrilling sanitized aspect of races. Now cars are full of assists and electronic. Traction control, anti-lock braking system, assisted steering, counter-steering assist or other ADAS. We've seen manual transmission progressively disappear from race cars to the extent that many young pro drivers can't drive MT correctly nowadays. Even in road cars, AT and semi-AT became a norm long ago in US and Asia, and it's going the same way in Europe. High octane has been progressively replaced by diesel, and atmospheric engines will soon be replaced by those lifeless hybrids, then full electric engines silnt as a tomb and with auto-drive function...
We'll see in 20 years from now if players still want to drive the most recent cars in video games, but it's sad times coming for cars enthousiasts, that's for sure!
