Its hard to feel nostalgic about a game which released 2 years ago.

But this is the same timeline for most other franchises. It gets released, gets some hate and in 5 years time a new game will release and everyone will hate that one and the older games will receive praise for being so iconic.
The game could have felt nostalgic on release. If the menu music was like the past games. If the menu itself had the style of the past games. If certain events were 300km or 99 Laps. There are a host of nostalgic elements, if done right initially, PD could have hit that mark on the game’s debut.
Trial Mountain is in. Deep Forest is in. Grand Valley is in. However, those circuits aren’t triggering certain nostalgic feelings from players that played the original layouts.

GT7 is a game that does a little with a lot of cars, they really need to put the brakes on adding meme vehicles and think about features because there is really not much new that they've offered that's been fully fleshed out with this game. Sophy is still half baked, weather is still a limited offering.
I don't think fewer new cars would help with any of that.

Now that the games been out a while, the game needs something like a second season, opening up new levels 51-100, bringing in new career events, 2-4 hours endurance races, championships, events especially for historic cars (those cars that a currently useless), going back to GT1 there needs to be something mysterious event or video that teases GT8 that unlocks upon reaching level 100.

Missing despite being "featured" in the intro movie and some trailers..

Ok… but if at the end we will discover that a swap with Corvette o Bugatti engine will be possible and you will have a sort of dragster available… I want to see the same complaints… 😄

Yes, the Unimog and 3 Scapes.

Tune in next month, where we finally get to experience the long-awaited return of... the Renault Avantime!

Not quite sure if you mean this in a sarcastic way or not, but actually im waiting since forever for them to add the Avantime, I’m a fan of this bizarre thing😅

I assume a few of these are from the scrapped classic car events, namely the Legends Grand Prix and World Classic Car Week. The question is, why have they not been added in yet? Even the existing classic events don't let you enter in cars from the 50s and older - what gives?
Maybe because of the GaS style support they've chosen for GT7.
They probably have a bunch of events ready since the launch of the game, waiting to be added (remember the screenshots taken from the press version of the game before it was launched). Just to keep the game alive on the long run so players are more likely to hit the track every month.

It can be a good strategy if you are just into numbers, but connection datas are not necessarily indicative of entertainment for the players. I fear it starts failing if the next game shares the same scheme.

Following this plan from start to finish would make GT7 a complete game only by the time of its final patch. Few months before a new incomplete game would come to take over (namely GT8, or GTS-2...). I think it only works if GT8 is made for PS6 only.

Nah, the Renault Avantime is for the February 2026 update.

I may be wrong, but on reddit we have activity from one of the GT7 developer, so it may, or may not mean that we are getting something extra with those 3 cars.
Hi, you have a link to this "developer"?

I'm curious about it, thanks!

It's Ivo van Roij, a technical artist who works a lot on tracks. He's had a Reddit account for about four years, so it's not a recent thing.

What is he saying on reddit?

I quickly skimmed through his comments, mostly just insights on the track environment art he worked on, but this comment stood out.
I’ve explained already that there are reasons why we went with this direction, and that OG GV would never live up to the standards (see my reply about nostalgia). That being said, I’m happy we got to bring this track back to GT, and I’m excited to see everyone’s reactions to the coming free updates.
Considering he's a 3D technical artist who has worked on previous tracks, this comment would seem to imply that something new he worked on is coming soon.
