Parts of the circuit definitely remind me of PCH/HW1 but others don't. I'm also used to a different part of the road compared to what's depicted in the game, we definitely got more trees up in Marin

Yeah, they did really good job of depicting the different parts of PCH, but definitely went light on the trees for the
Cambria—->North - inspired parts of the Circuit.

I think this can be interpreted as PD acknowledging their POS trees aren’t up to the task 😂

They've added some stuff to Known Issues today:
Steering Controllers
 - On the THRUSTMASTER® T300RS, the force feedback effect may differ between the left and right directions under certain conditions;
 - On the THRUSTMASTER® T300RS, device protection safety is triggered more easily on high loads from Update 1.54 onwards;
 - On the Fanatec® GT DD Pro / Extreme, unexpected noises may be produced when turning the wheel sharply.

Physics Simulation Model
 - In Scapes demo movies or when making a pit stops during a race, the car will drive in an unintended manner if the tyres collide with the fenders.

Seriously though, what's the deal with the Red Bull Ring track map in menus?

PD should include Apricot Hill and Midfield, and the track in which Apricot Hill perhaps was inspired from, Circuit Paul Ricard.
That's a personal take, but I think Apricot Hills already shares a lot of things with Kyoto Driving Park, may be too much actually. Apricot Hills is a good track, so is Midfield, but I'm not sure they would refresh GT7 experience that much.

Autumn Ring, Pikes Peak or Tahiti (and why not Red Rock Valley depending on the scenery) on an other hand, would contrast a lot more with what we already have in this game.

I would rather that we get something different, long road track similar to Sierra from GT6 than another original track.
Ideally make Gran Valley Speedway with another 6 miles seaside road, and another 10 miles in the canyons. GWS would be ideal to resemble real road as track is not too wide like a real road, yet enough for racing, and it has good atmosphere in any time.
That would be a blast for free roam and roleplaying in online lobbies, drift etc.

Maybe I’m in the minority on this, but I actually think more of the same adds more value than content which stands in contrast to the existing. I think Lake Louise is a good example of this. Yes, it does represent something novel but is this actually an enhancement in the long term? I’m not convinced, because once the novelty has passed I usually return to what can be considered ordinary Gran Turismo content. The more of that, the better in my opinion.

That's the point. Polyphony has been using a revamped version of Suzuka in in-person World Series events since August 2023 in Amsterdam. That version of Suzuka has the updated logo and it seems like some minor differences like that yellow ad line.
In fact the revamped version of Suzuka is the one Polyphony uses in all new releases and even appears in the intro of the game since Spec II, but for some strange reason they haven't updated the game with this version 🤷‍♂️ .

My personal theory is that in 2023 they updated the banners on the Development version of the game they keep working on (+ the DevKit for GTWS events) and they just forgot to this day to incorporate those changes in the Live version of the game

GT7 wasteland of a content....very toxic of me indeed.
Not sure if toxic or stupid. Anyone with half a brain would have walked away from the game long ago if it's as bad as you make it to be, so you're either deliberatery stirring **** or too dumb to figure out that you can just forget about it and go on. I'm betting on the former.

Still hating the game yet sticking around to continually talk trash. What a terrible game if it keeps inspiring you to randomly pop up and spout the same crap. Imagine how useful that energy could be elsewhere...
You`ll be mentioned in despatches !

Last track that got added into the game? We'll see one track at best this year, mark my words.
And what did we get? Lake Louise.....as I was suffering through the weekly race there last night, what came to mind is how that course seems like a bunch of random non-related turns thrown together with some straights. I played a LOT of ATV Offroad Fury, and the made up courses were great, nothing at all like what the GT series has offered.

Sadly, I hope we don't see Midfield or Red Roc Valley added. I shudder to think what updates could do to them.

There's Eiger Nordwand after Lake Louise. And people still complained it wasn't a race car's track.

"Hating the game", go take my words out of a blue. I hate the way game is handled, after such promises of "returning to original GT"

Do you want track updates or "the original GT"? Because the original GT was just a game on a disc and you were either happy with that, or put it away and played something else. No complaining about free updates not being to your liking. Besides, no kind of track update will turn this game into an old school GT and you know that.

And if you take any statement by Kaz or PD as such a promise, you are setting yourself up for disappointment, that's on you.

There is no taking your words "out of a blue". It's the same crap everytime that adds nothing to the discussion. Contrary to popular belief, you can hate the way a game is handled in a far more constructive way then the nonsensical means you repeatedly do (which is why I'm calling you out on it).

BTW, nice response:

DM'd me just to make a locked conversation, such an adult action. Can't handle getting called out? Tough stuff, maybe stop doing the thing you keep doing.

Imagine being this bitter about a video game
It’s reasonable to assume people sign up here because said video game is within personal hobby territory. Bitterness is a valid feeling when hobbies fail to align with whatever someone wants from them.

Even not taking Kaz at his word and then seeing what we got, it’s still really not like past Gran Turismos. I mean, some people that have played through the whole franchise and didn’t know what Kaz said about revisiting the past Gran Turismos in feel, still feel GT7 lacks the nostalgia of past games.

Ironically, a game that got a lot of boos is GT Sport and that game feels more nostalgic than GT7.

GT7 has everything we need except for B-Spec and track editor. As many passionate players point out, we just need some kind of organised progression and replayability. We have all kinds of events and yet some major ones lacking for certain cars in the game. There are Championship races from PP 400 -> World GT PP 800 and those feel like they’re cast aside after completion.

The real gems are the Clubman Cup+ events. Those indeed feel like nostalgic GT. Also the attempt with the NEO-CLASSIC Competition races.

Anyway, so many races in the Event Directory and while they’re good in concept, the saying for this game is they’re “executed poorly”.

Yep, the lack of freedom in progression was this game's biggest problem for me. "Career mode" presents you with one menu book at a time, and then provides you with three cars that you can use for each one. Sure, you can go to the used car dealer and pick your own ride, but I was always hesitant to do so because of the chance that a later menu book would provide me with that car for free.

In a "classic" GT, most of the menu books would be available from the start, and it would be on you to acquire a car for each one.

Also, last week I finally learned what everyone meant when they complained that some cars "have no events". I bought some classic racing car for a bonus menu, and thought "I'd like to race this real quick before I turn around and sell it again". That was when I discovered that the Sunday Cup... doesn't allow race cars? Since when is the Sunday Cup not a complete free-for-all? That ain't right.

I was disappointed about gt6 though back in 2015. It didn't have a large variety of modes/races for people to choose from. I know there were 30 tracks and 1,200 cars to choose from but still... it was nowhere near what gt5 had. It had five different leagues you could take part in which was fun. Plus the special events that was available for us. The coffee break challenges were hard as hell to get a gold in too, in gt6.

I do like the menu books in gt7, PD stepped up with this part of GT, I think and the lap challenges/Sport mode events and championships/ GTWS series.

I can't believe it's already time for another gt7 update, seems like we just had one in January.

Its hard to feel nostalgic about a game which released 2 years ago.

But this is the same timeline for most other franchises. It gets released, gets some hate and in 5 years time a new game will release and everyone will hate that one and the older games will receive praise for being so iconic.
