It's a stylized diagonal rendition of the kanji for "kyō" (capital, 京).

If you look at the rectangle in the center of the Kyoto Driving Park logo you can see how it maps roughly to the rectangular section in the above image.
I'm sure this is indeed true, but... what a stretch. It's a country mile from the in game logo. Even stating the rectangle in the middle represents the middle of the kanji seems like a wild stretch of the imagination. It honestly looks 1000 times more like a piston. However, maybe that was their intention. A combination of both.

I've always wondered but never thought to ask, what does the Kyoto Driving Park logo represent? 🤔

Looks like a stylised version of the first letter of Kyoto in Japanese.

I feel like I'm in a minority of people who are actually looking forward to future VGT entries, especially if they end up being from famous design houses like Pininfarina or Bertone. In the former case, it'd actually be under the Pininfarina Automobili brand, perhaps alongside the Battista. I especially like the VGTs that allow certain brands to have a Gr.1 racer when they wouldn't have one otherwise, such as with Dodge. Furthermore, I wonder what brands could end up suddenly submitting another VGT, as we've seen with Jaguar, Peugeot, and Alpine? Maybe Jaguar could come to its senses - if only for a brief moment - and make a hybrid version of the VGT SV, so it would be eligible for Gr.1.

The only way I'm interested in VGTs is if they're rooted in reality. Make something tangible. But I don't think that's the purpose of them.

We need a new Red Bull car. And the RB17 would be a great addition for that since it's a real thing. Otherwise I'm not sure what manufacture would create a new "unlimited" racecar.

A new Red Bull X-series would likely be in doubt as Adrian Newey has moved to Aston Martin.

To replace the X2019 Competition, maybe a switch to the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro would be a good idea.

Am I the only one who loves the C9 concept
Probably. Looking like a VGT is not something to strive for IMHO. A more grounded approach would be much more attractive, in my book. More car. Less spaceship. That's my .02

That would be great, but with a Japanese engine(Honda), it would be an absolute win for that partnership. Two legacy brands from the franchise in one car. ;) A fresh Gran Turismo halo competition car.

My favourite kind of VGT are the ones that preview future design language, and are a bit more restrained in concept. The wild ones are fun but the ones I feel the most immersed by (not that it's a pre-requisite of the VGT project) are the ones like the BMW VGT, Volkswagen VGT, and Bugatti VGT.

Not sure what the theme is, but I’ve been saying this for the longest and been doing my own race series with these cars in the past.

The CSL ‘71 was in the UCD recently and there are six-cylinder turbo models currently available. Would be cool for PD to acknowledge all these cars in a Weekly or new WTC or PP event.

While some people complain about the addition of 'useless' cars like Unimog, I honestly felt this way when VGT is added, that there's less real cars being added, and that VGT can make the car list feel less complete (the GT car list being outdated problem) despite reaching 500+ cars.

Though I don't fret much as there can be always newer cars added (so I don't complain about any real cars added, maybe wrong mindset to adopt in internet), and adding newer ones don't require deleting the existing ones like gotta delete VGT to make room for newer cars.

Did Fanatec DD Extreme get that improved GT7 support they were talking about?

This is interesting to watch play out, it feels like the culmination of the issue we've often talked about where PD try to spin both the classic content plate and the Sport Mode plate and end up kind of ineffectual at both.

If I were PD, I think I'd see the writing on the wall, pivot away from Sport Mode, and re-tool GT8's online offerings to be more based around the whole car roster at the expense of the GTWS. But I could also see them desperately trying to hold on to streamers and top-tier players who they worry won't play non-race car content.

It seems the fad of eSports is coming to an end with partners pulling out of GTWS and now this, I assume nobody is seeing an adequate return on their investments.
I mean, that is why people are skeptical of Rennsport to begin with.

Hopefully with GTWS ending their partners, PD will be more flexible about adding newer race cars.

Or maybe adding more quirky cars like the Kangoo, CH-R, Jimny, etc

Honda and Suzuki did well making realistic VGTs (aside from those who slap body kits into existing concept cars and calling it a day) imo.

I kinda have feeling the F3500-A might serve as a replacement for the X2019, though using an old-style F1 car is a questionable choice (though they did use the F1500T-A one GT World Tour in the GT Sport days.)

Perhaps a modernized Formula GT built to modern hybrid rules might be it...?

I feel it could be the end of the race car group system and essentially going back to "Smash Bros with race cars" like in GT6's WTCC events, too.

Makes me wonder how RaceRoom managed to hold on for 12 years already

Only two partners I've seen exit are Fanatec (who also didn't renew their sponsorship with the SRO as well so that seems more like a specific company decision) and Michelin. Not sure what was behind this particar stoppage of a series but if the F1 stuff is anything to go-by, eSports ain't done just yet

Rennsport had ALOT of reasons people are skeptical about it (Middle Eastern funding, NFTs, etc).
