It'd be a shame if the next game doesn't have some form of open-world mode, because it would make so much sense for the normal and weird everyday cars we keep getting like the Honda CR-V & Suzuki Carry to be NPC traffic.
I mean you can turn the latter into what seems to be a mobile kitchen/food truck!

We also saw a similar idea of traffic cars be used in the latest Honda Civic one-make event, so maybe that's part of the intention behind Polyphony adding them.

The Ferrari 812 and a bunch of cars are all broken for me after this update. All stock out of the dealer. The 812 won't turn. The wheel runs against the guard. This is stock! The corvette c5 is fine. No problem.

That's not a good sign, all the cars should be working. That's weird. Maybe you should re-boot your console and try it again. It might be a bug or glitch, I don't know.

Just for the people enquiring about the ticket change "trick", my non-credits tickets from 1.58 and 1.59:

6E - ENGINE - Nissan R92CP --> Suzuki VGT Gr.3
4⭐ - PART - Mustang Gr.3 Road Shaft --> SAME
6E - ENGINE - Pagani Huayra --> Porsche 959
4⭐ - CAR - Honda CTR FL5 --> Toyota Tundra
4⭐ - INVITE - Lamborghini --> SAME
6⭐ - CAR - Toyota TS050 --> Chaparral 2X
6C - CAR - Alpine VGT --> Toyota FT-1
6⭐ - CAR - Delorean S2 --> Super Formula SF19 Toyota

So they do, in fact, still change. I didn't have a big selection of non-credit tickets this time, so I can't say if the Parts/Invites are not changing or whether they just didn't this time. Odd that every Car/Engine ticket changed though. Every. One.

Between these "everyday" cars and the swap for the Z432, I think PD should give their shot at developing a console Wangan Midnight game. (There's a growing player frustration with Bamco's Maximum Tune coin-op games as of recent, by the way...)

That Escudo swap with a Group 3 engine is really interesting... Nerfing the car to make it less wily but possibly making it into a good choice for WTC 800 etc.

It might have an advantage not necessarily in overall peak power, but perhaps in the torque curve or something.

  Engine Swaps are now available for the following cars (unlocked at Collector Level 50):
  ・Porsche 911 Carrera RS Club Sport (993) '95
  ・Porsche Cayman GT4 '16
  ・Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport '16
Can't wait for a Porsche GT1 Strassenversion '97 X Porsche 962 C engine swap..

Looking at the Special Picks in the Used Car Dealership, there's probably going to be a Chevrolet Corvette one-make as the next Special Event in Weekly Challenges.

Oh and in Brand Central & the Café, they make reference quite a bit to the C5-R, the racing version of the new C5 Corvette.
Reminds me of how the BMW V12 LMR is referenced in the BMW-McLaren F1 Longtail dialogue.
Hopefully we'll see both return as actual cars in the game someday.
Once again like with the Civic one-make, some very cool opponent liveries in the Corvette one:

When you open a roulette ticket, as the prize has been revealed and it is not to your liking, disconnect your internet connection and shut the game there and then without accepting the prize.

After you reconnect and restart the game, the ticket should be available as unopened.

Then you let it sit in your inventory until next content update rolls around and you reopen that ticket AFTER the update.

The contents may or may not have changed depending on the original prize.

Don't let the game save itself after opening the ticket, just disconnect and shut it from the PS menu.

I appreciate the time and effort put into those special events, but I can't help but ask myself "why din't they add those special events to the existing ones ? So much work for a one week only event ???"
disconnect your internet connection
just shut the game before exiting the roulette screen, no need to fiddle with the internet connection

Yep. Additionally you can open any or all of your tickets, so long as you don't back out of the Gifts screen manually. Hit the PS button, go to the switcher, select GT7, and shut it down.

When you boot the game back up, all the tickets will be back again. They won't change until there's another content update, and then they only may change (though it seems all my car and parts rewards did this time), so it's not worth doing if the next update is after the ticket's expiry; as we tend to find out when an update is up to a week before it happens, I don't keep tickets that will expire before next Thursday.

Gt7 nailed the 812 sound. Really happy to see that. Wish fxxk would get an sound update to. Hopefully fixed for gt8.
Now, if they could only fix the rev issue that a lot of vehicles suffer from (i.e the audio doesn't change when performance parts are added). Most of the Honda's, the Aston's, a lot of the Nissan's, most BMW's, etc... When I add an ECU and a high lift camshaft (raising the rev limit) the engine note should reflect that. The pitch and ferocity of the sound should be..... more. Many of the cars/trucks in the game have this weird issue, where the pitch of the engine note doesn't change from stock. SO, no matter how much you tune it up it sounds relatively the same (i.e BORING). End of rant.

I disagree many cars not all changes how the sound when you either change the exhausts, highlift camshaft and other upgrades etc. Even turbo and supercharger noises changes after upgrading. Its more noticable on some cars through.

But to say the sound dosent change with perfomence upgrades is false. I have went back and fourth and do the camparsions myself and yes their is difference but it depends on the car really. Their no other racing game that goes this much in depth either with those changes. Hopefully the improve it even futher in gt8. Some cars just dosent get that much impact on sound with perfomence upgrades.

This is the first time pd even gone this deep for a gran turismo game with the upgrade system. A huge step up from gt6. And i could see gt8 take even the next step.

Here's a video from the brilliant @lbpomg95 that explains it better than I ever could.

GT8 will probably be cross-gen (or, more likely, a PS5 game that gets a "Director's Cut" style late release on PS6), yes.

PS5/PS6 cross-gen will be significantly less painful than PS4/PS5 though. The PS4 (and X1) were weak hardware even in 2013, it's no wonder 2020s ports struggle on them. The PS5, while it's not exactly a high-end PC or anything, is significantly closer to the bleeding edge than its predecessor was. PS6 GT8 is probably just going to be a shinier version rather than having features only it can run.

Edit: Also, game scalability as a skill has massively improved because of how big the low-end PC market is - devs need to be able to scale games down so that kids who see streamers playing their game can buy and play it (a massive source of revenue these days). Whether that applies to PD, one of the last great PC holdouts, is questionable though.

Completely agree with you. Let’s cross our fingers and finally have a GT that can express the full potential without the limitations of bad or old hardware like ps4(old) and ps3(bad)

I absolutly agree this is the case. But the guy i responded to claim that none of the car sounds changed it sound with perfomence parts, witch is clearly not the case. Their is some that changes more than others. And some other barely changes outside of exhausts. I hope thats something they resolve for gt8. It was so cool to at least see gt7 take this step for the first time in franshise.

You severely misunderstood my post. There is a well known issue in the game where SOME cars audible rev limit does not change with the addition of parts that raise the rev limit. Such as high lift camshafts and ECU's (among other parts).

As I said before, most Hondas suffer from this, as well as a lot of the Aston's, a bunch of BMW's, and MANY more. It's not my opinion. It's a well known problem.

"But the guy i responded to claim that none of the car sounds changed it sound with perfomence parts, witch is clearly not the case."

Nope. It's like you read the first line and then gave up. That was never said.

I think we won’t see GT8 before ps6. Ps6 is rumored to be 2027-2028 release. Even if PD is going all in making GT8 there is literally no sense to release it only on ps5 and then making some kind of definitive edition. More likely PD and Sony could be keeping gt8 as ps6 launch title (with ps5 release)

I know the game suffer from this in some cases. I have noticed it myself. Maybe its 50/50 split hard to answer. Most aston suffer from it, not db11 through. It sounds completly different after the engine balancing upgrade witch increase the rev limit to, Most BMW i found only the exhausts have a big impact on the sound.

I would like to see pd resolve at least some of this for gt8. They took a huge leap forward already with gt7 campared to past titles.

They have really never even tried to do those things before. Its the deepest sound changes we have had at least with perfomence parts.

Would make sense to go a bit deeper with gt8 but i guess we see.
Its proably not easy to do it with that many cars.

I am also intrested if ac evo will do something simular when they add upgrade parts to the cars witch proably wont happen until 1.0 release, but i am still intrested to find out.

However is their a list of cars that have those sound changes with highlift camshaft e.x.

But a bit weird that the issue with this has not been talked about more, you really dont find much about it in general.
