Is not GT news per se, but I see this on X and can't think in other thing

"For a moment I thought it might be AI, but it seems to be real...
Apparently, the legendary (?) Vector M12 GT2 has been unearthed overseas.
Even seeing the actual car, it really does have a Ridge Racer vibe..."

C'mon Kaz, is the time

Vector & Venturi were such cool brands. A shame they only ever appeared in 1 GT game (GT2).
Really cool discovery of the former.

Perhaps worth noting that there is no relation between Vector Motors the car company & the similarly named Vector Sport LMP2 racing team.
I originally thought that was a name revival similar to when Vanwall returned to WEC, but it turns out that's not the case.

They will first have to be restored.

This remains great news for automotive history.
These specific cars, yes, but there are some (not to much really) out there.

We saw some Vectors in Pebble Beach (this is a W8, in 2024)

I did notice that the second BRZ GT300 with the GTWS livery has one notable difference - it has different wheels and tire stickers.

EDIT: Also, does that Renault 5 Turbo that’s now in the UCD have four-digit mileage, or is it the more typical five-digit mileage?

@TheCracker
I am a collector of Le Mans cars and across my three accounts i do have a lot.
Your suggestion is a good idea and it makes my collection more diverse, I looked into the history of these Shell/Dunlop Porsches and they needed to be in my collection.
So far I do have two of the three, need to get 19 the Andretti car to complete the trio.

There was an interesting quote from Mark Cerny, lead console architect of PlayStation, earlier today.

At 8:04
"...and I'm really excited about bringing them to a future console in a few years time."

That would seem to indicate the PS6 is approximately expected around the year 2028.

Soo maybe GT8 is a launch title for that console. I think thats the realest situation, we have to expect a long wait, and maybe an Spec IV (Hopium 1000%)

With GT7 released in 2022, and Spec III releasing 2025, I find it difficult to believe that we're only half way through GT7's life cycle if GT8 was going to be a PS6 launch title (believed 2028).

I personally think it's more likely for GT8 to initially launch as a PS5-only title, then maybe get some PS6 enhancements a year or 2 later once the console is out.
A bit like what they already did for GT7 when the PS5 Pro was launched in the middle of the game's life cycle.

Yea that is also highly possible, but considering GT7 is kind of a live service game, and also considering the hate the PS5 got for pretty much 0 exclusives at launch, i just see a possible 2028 launch as a PS6 launch with an PS5 version, also.

Hello! 2 questions for everyone :
-When can we expect to know the last details of the Spec III update? Very intrigued to know the last 4 cars and maybe "hidden" content
-Even if the trailer state it'll be the 1.64 update, do you still expect to have a small content update (with Xiaomi/3 cars, bug fixes and some races/menu) at the end of October and/or November?

There was no hate at launch. Everyone and their dog wanted one. The "no exclusives" thing came a couple years later and only because Sony got scared their exclusives would not sell with people not being able to get a PS5. By 2022 (which is when GT7, HFW and GoWR, previously PS5-only titles, were released), the world was still recovering from the pandemic.

The hate came pretty much only from internet trolls who either couldn't get one/were on Xbox camp/etc. The PS5 is probably Sony's most hated and underrated console, as it's sold well despite a microchip shortage and a pandemic affecting supply chains, but weird people insist it's a "flop".

It also gets hate from PC boys now that there's diminishing returns with more power and the consoles are closing the gap to midrange PCs. :P

It’s hard to believe but... the kart is my most used car in GT7. :D
Did you put all the cars that you bought with 0 mileage inside your favourites ?

A few days before patch, at best.

No. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Yeah, with a few exceptions. Legendary ones bought at ~7 kms and under three figure km mileage I consider favourites and “0” since the amount is pretty much negligible. Also legendary and UCD ones sold with with the kilometres matching the release year (1,976 etc, etc). They'll be higher but since the beginning number is clearly known just subtract with the year number. I think so but can't quite recall with certainty if I had the 400R at 1,995 and the W 196 R at 1,955.

What is this saying?

I can tell it's a PD staff talk about neural networks or similar, and that there's pictures of tracks in it. But a lot of us here aren't Japanese speakers, you'll need to explain further what it's talking about.
It's a talk about the graphics rendering system that Polyphony has developed to reduce "pop-in" and improve frame rate and overall performance for GT7. Basically, they have figured out a way to use a neural network to simplify the process of deciding what actually needs to be rendered in each frame for the player. The more efficient that process can be, the better the game can perform and the more hardware resources that frees up for other calculations.

I might do a full article on the presentation for GTP.

Would you mind doing that so we can all understand that terminology in the game/gt7. Thanks. I would appreciate it too.

Just went to the Sunday Cup event on Kyoto Driving Park just for fun with a strong car to see if the rubberbanding would kick in and yikes, it certainly did. When you can't even lap a CH-R with a 700PP tuned Road Car even on Easy Mode it all shows up. The arrows on the map would go at crazy speeds when I was ahead.

It was weird to see a 380 PP Road Car drive like a 600PP Sportscar. 😅

Funny you should say that, I just destroyed a grid of Group B rally cars in this week's weekly challenge rally event using the K20-swapped Mini Cooper S. (480PP in a 700PP-limited race)

Amazing!! 👍 To be honest I'm a very ordinary driver. I try to outdo myself but most of the time that I go full speed I end up off-track or in a wall. I've got a lot to learn.

This is sort of tangential but I wasn't sure where else to ask it - does anyone know if there's anyone working on a wiki for GT independent from Fandom? I was looking up some info yesterday and how miserable that site is to navigate just broke me, to the point where if there isn't one I'm tempted to take some time off work and build one myself.
An update on this... I decided to buy the surprisingly not taken https://www.gtwiki.co.uk domain. It's going to be a lot of work, don't expect anything much from this for the rest of this year at least, but I've needed an idle time project for a while now so I'm happy.

One thing I have done early though is collate all the silhouettes and when they were posted. So next time Kaz doesn't post them first thing on Saturday morning, look at that before immediately confirming it means definitely no update that month. Although interestingly he has been leaning towards posting them early recently, it turns out.
