And Gran Turismo is a weird one. Like I heard recently that Gran Turismo was running on the Switch 2. I don't think it's going to come to the Switch 2, but I heard it was running on the Switch 2.

If true this may have been a test to see how the game & engine runs on a low power handheld, like the rumoured device Playstation have been developing for the next generation (and with the low power mode already available on PS5).

Well the PS6 handheld should be able to play PS4 version without any issues at minimum and Switch 2 is like PS4+ :D

I don't know why they'd go to all the extra trouble of getting their engine running on ARM-based Switch 2 when there's lots of x86-based PC handhelds out there if all they wanted was handheld/low power testing.

Unless this is foreshadowing that PS6 is also going to be ARM-based, I guess that would make it reasonable. But that would have a lot of backwards-compatibility compromises...

I'm gonna just throw a random dart and say the next DLC could be the:

Renault Captur

Nismo GT-R R33 LM Road car ----> Could see a tuned variant being used in daily races with the Supra GT road car, and like the Supra GT road car the racing variant can be easily made almost exact.

Ford Mustang Cobra R

Captur is confirmed, and the other 2 fit the criteria of returning cars and are from Japan and America along with not being Gr/race cars. Seeing as we already have a Viper GTS Gen 2 and a C5 Z06, the Mustang Cobra R would complete the 2000s/Late 90s American big 3.

Doesn't make sense. Porting the game to ARM is not a trivial task just to see how it runs on a portable. If that's the case, makes much more sense to run it on a PC with similar power budget and specs to the new PlayStation handheld and console.

Sony is committed to AMD and x86 for the next gen already.

Kaz is still quiet about the February update...there won't be cars teaser at this rate, and he'd just reveal the cars and say the update is coming tomorrow.
Or worse there's no February update for 2026.

Is it possible the handheld uses ARM for better performance? But then you would need either native ports of games or emulation which may counter the possible performance gains.

As for PS6 potentially using ARM... I don't hate it. Definitely you'd have some BC challenges, if they can't get it working then I don't think it would be worth the trade off (especially with today's development times), and while the ease of development and PC-like architecture IS good, part of me misses the days when Sony would come up with unique chips. Even the Cell, which probably was too far/not easy enough to program well.

Normally teaser is coming one week before the release... so for February I don't expect any.
I think we will have something between the end of Nations and the first round of GTWS in Abu Dhabi.

No maintenance update, so no update tomorrow.
Maybe early March, maybe later in the month before the next live event.

To us, that's a problem. To them?

Pokemon is re-releasing FRLG for $20 dollars and people are eating it up in droves. When you're that starved for content, you'll pay whatever they ask for the convenience.

I’m going to call it now. The PS6 will not be ARM based.
It won't, Sony is committed to AMD already.

Cobra R isn't a bad choice, but I'm gonna throw a Hail Mary with this car choice to come from America.......

If this ends up being the next update, I would be very happy. I just hope we get a Japanese and an American road car and not some PD tuned fantasy cars from the past.

Maybe it's the February effect, but at least for me it still doesn't feel that long ago since the last update. Not like it normally feels anyway.
I might've said the same thing last year though.

Thanks, I guess.

Taking into account the clues he mentioned in the video, I think it's likely that those two cars will come from here:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Race Car
2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Touring Car
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Race Car
2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Touring Car

2002 Honda Integra Type R Touring Car
2004 Honda Integra Type R Touring Car
2010 Honda CR-Z Touring Car
2007 Lexus IS-F Touring Car
2008 Lexus IS-F Racing Concept
2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Touring Car
1997 Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car
2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX Touring Car
1994 Nissan GT-R R32 Touring Car
1997 Nissan GT-R R33 Touring Car
2002 Nissan GT-R R34 Touring Car
2009 Nissan GT-R R35 Touring Car
2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Touring Car
1995 Suzuki Cappuccino RM
2009 Toyota Prius Touring Car
Last year [if it wasn't in 2025?] I suggested to Kaz on X that PD should add all DETAILED cars/race cars from GT6, but obviously both me & the G7 community would favor some type/classes of cars above others. & we won't get all & we won't like all cars, just the fast ones..:-)
I can't grasp that PD needs 9 months to model a car from earlier GT versions when said car is DETAILED.

I never really understand things like that.

The car is also the first Vision Gran Turismo car to have a fully working mockup model in real life; the actual car was shown at the Wörthersee Treffen event on May 30, 2014, coinciding with the launch of the car, although it only ran at low speeds.
So what does "mockup" mean here exactly? Is this indeed a "real car" with a twin turbo VR6 or is it rather just a chassis with some weak engine that can drive slowly but probably couldn't take a corner at higher speeds?

It's very real. Few days ago some youtubers got to drive it at the event where these photos were taken. Glorious sound, so definitely a real Powertrain.

None of them did anything close to racing speed, but that's 100% a fully functioning vehicle. Most likely they just did not take the time to fully set-up the car for dynamic driving.

Yep! Looking forward to it. There is quite a big margin to imprive the image quality with rt on and pssr on on gt7. It’s quite blurry and low res at the moment especially from the cockpit view

I think it's time for Kaz and Polyphony to release a statement or apology as to why they missed February for an update.
As if he owes us that.

He can release stuff when he thinks it's okay to do so.

There are many other things to worry about rather than be concerned on one particular person who missed a habit (when in fact he is not even obliged to give us monthly updates)
