Never understood why they don't keep it in Japan every time anyway, cheaper for them to run and for most of the world a nice prize trip to Japan is better than most of the other places they've ever put on events at. A bit hard on the J players maybe (Miyazono wouldn't need to remember to renew his passport though) but this 'around the world' events thing is kinda well past its sell by date. Most of us watch online.

I was expecting this post any day now. At least people are getting a refund and the tickets are not being reused on an other event…
Now waiting to see what will happen to the F1 GP at barhain and Jedda…
Probably will be cancelled too as there is no free space on the calendar to re-schedule

I wonder if F1 considers doing virtual races, like they did during Covid, if those races get cancelled.
And because this wasn't a big success back then AFAIR, maybe they could use something else than the EA F1 game. Maybe something like GT7 and maybe a Nordschleife GP using the F3500-B?
Yeah, I'm dreaming, but imagine that! I bet the tv ratings would be quite nice....and Max would love it😄

Looks like Gran Turismo has made it into some of the more mainstream gaming media outlets today, relating to job hires.

Nothing really new or groundbreaking from what I can tell, but cool seeing it featured.

In the meantime we could & should have an even better experience in GT7 with Custom Championships! It would take a day's coding, or max a week.

On a similar note - maybe a bit off topic - my biggest dream for this game would be custom races, but online in a hosted lobby, with guests using "rental" cars.

This game is such an amazing sandbox, imagine if you could create a custom race, then just click "host" or "invite", and then your friends could race the cars that you prepared.

Would be a great way to connect "power users" with more casual players. I've done "replica races" like 1971 Trans Am grids or 1994 JGTC with friends, and getting the BOP and liveries coordinated for everyone takes so much effort. Imagine if you could just prepare it and have people hop in.

It would be great !! Also being able to fill the online grids with bots that drive the cars you tuned in

I noticed today that the Porsche 919 Hybrid has a turbocharger upgrade as well as a gearbox upgrade available, but the TS050 doesn't.

Does anyone know if any other cars like that have upgrades like it?

I think the GR010 Hybrid has those too…

Random thing I noticed recently; in the automatic-modeled Hyundai Elantra N, the player model will actually shift the automatic shifter into reverse when you select the reverse gear and throw it into automatic "sport" mode when in drive. I thought that attention to detail was kinda neat and--this is not suggesting PD is lazy by any means--it bums me out for every other car that doesn't have a specific animation for selecting reverse. :indiff:

Like, wouldn't it be cool to see the player model press the reverse button on the CR-V, or use the shifter stalk on the Teslas?

Wipers, headlights and turn signal animations would be cool. In PSVR2, the avatar reflection of the player’s helmet moves as the player moves.

Always wondered if it's possible to take the original Gr3/Gr4 cars PD made and throw them into an CFD.

Would be neat to see if these cars have viable aero in reality.

If the models ever become extractable, from Sport or 7 (for 7, some time after the servers are off I imagine), that might be possible if you can run CFD on a 3D model with no other required data.
