We have had a Le Mans "themed" update before, back on GT Sport. That was when Circuit de la Sarthe was added alongside the initial 3 Group C cars:
  • Jaguar XJR-9
  • Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9
  • Nissan R92CP
That also featured 6 other more miscellaneous cars too, but the Gr.C's & Le Mans were the headline content.

There are a few other cases of themed updates in the past, but not so much in recent times.

This is going to be an expensive update 😅

Could be possible, considering some modern GT3's that were featured in the game (Audi R8 LMS EVO, Ferrari 296 GT3 and Porsche 992 GT3 R) had their EVO kits available as dress-up parts in GT Auto.

Could see the same for certain Hypercars too.

Unless the EVO version of a car is a major redesign, there is no need to model a separate car.
Well, the issue with the wingless Peugeot Hypercars is that they are now owned by JMB Classic. But may be they'll have given to PD the data they need for this.
The side LED panels look like an easy option to add though.
Five cars I'm not interested in using in this game but I'm glad people have them to stop spamming asking for them now!
Alpine A424 when ? Glickenhaus 007 LMH when ? Cadillac V-Series.R when ? Acura ARX-06 when ? Vanwall Vandervell 680 when ? Lamborghini SC63 when ? Isotta Fraschini Typo 6 LMH-C when ? Genesis GMR-001 when ? Toyota TR010 when ? Aston Martin Vroom Vroom when ? spam spam spam spam spam !!!
joking :D

That said, the Cadillac, if only for its V8 but also the return of the brand in Gran Turismo would be a nice addition..

The thing is, updates with a certain theme were an “easier” thing to do in the past because the updates were considerably larger by standard.

For example, the March 2018 update for GT Sport brought the 2016 GT500 trio. New players might think it was a fully themed update, except the Super GT cars were just 3 out of thirteen cars added in this update. Crazy to think about it nowadays.

Today, variety feels almost like it’s mandatory because the quantity lacks compared to those early GT Sport days.

Short summary of each LMH/LMDh in relation to the game:
IMG_1757.webp

* Acura ARX-06: Only competes in IMSA, not WEC. Brand not already in GT7, but has featured in previous games. Factory program ending this year.
IMG_1758.webp

* Alpine A424: Only competes in WEC, not IMSA. Brand already in GT7. Factory program ending this year. Kaz visited them at Le Mans 2025, where he got to see the Alpenglow hydrogen car.

IMG_1759.webp

* Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH: Competes in both WEC & IMSA. Brand already in GT7. When Kaz went to Le Mans in 2025, he posted it alongside the Porsche 963, complementing the Valkyrie's sound. The road car version of the Valkyrie is already in the game, and has been used at Le Mans in the GTWS before in a one-make format.

IMG_1760.webp

* BMW M Hybrid V8: Competes in both WEC & IMSA. Now coming to the game. Has received a 2026 aero update that includes smaller front kidney grilles, as seen in the above photo.
IMG_1762.webp

* Cadillac V-Series.R: Competes in both WEC & IMSA. Brand not already in GT7, but has featured in previous games. Cover car of Forza Motorsport 8.
IMG_1763.webp

* Ferrari 499P: Only competes in WEC, not IMSA. Now coming to the game. The Ferrari VGT's body construction took its inspiration from the 499P.
IMG_1779.webp

* Ford (Car Name TBA): Only confirmed to compete in WEC at this time, not IMSA, but to make its debut next year (2027). Brand already in GT7.
IMG_1764.webp

* Genesis GMR-001: Only confirmed to compete in WEC at this time, not IMSA, and made its debut this year (2026). Brand already in GT7, and seemingly with strong ties having previously been an official GTWS sponsor, and being the game chosen for its official digital debut. Already has a Gr.1 version of the Genesis VGT that shares some design elements.
IMG_1765.webp

* Glickenhaus (SCG) 007: Only competed in WEC, not IMSA, and has since been retired. Brand not already in GT7, and although speculated years ago with their SCG 003C Nürburgring 24H car, it appeared that Jim Glickenhaus couldn't agree a licensing deal with Polyphony that he viewed as fair, somewhat similar to the Lotus situation. Perhaps too obscure to be considered regardless.
IMG_1774.webp

* Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH-C: Only competed in WEC, not IMSA, and has since been retired though potentially may come back for the Asian Le Mans Series. Brand not already in GT7, and is perhaps too obscure to be considered.
IMG_1767.webp

* Lamborghini SC63: Competed in both WEC & IMSA, but has since been put on hold / retired. Brand already in GT7. Cover car of Project Motor Racing.
IMG_1768.webp

* McLaren MCL-HY: Only confirmed to compete in WEC at this time, not IMSA, but to make its debut next year (2027). Brand already in GT7.
IMG_1778.webp

* Peugeot 9X8: Only competes in WEC, not IMSA. Now coming to the game. Originally was designed to race without a rear wing, as seen in the above photo.

IMG_1775.webp

* Porsche 963: Only competes in IMSA, but did previously compete in WEC too. Now coming to the game.
IMG_1770.webp

* Toyota TR010: Only competes in WEC, not IMSA. The old car, the GR010, is already in the game, however the new car called the TR010 made its debut this year (2026). Toyota are an official GTWS sponsor.

IMG_1772.webp

* Vanwall Vandervell 680: Only competed in WEC, not IMSA, and has since been retired though potentially may come back for the Asian Le Mans Series. Brand not already in GT7, and is perhaps too obscure to be considered.

And there is still great chance we will get more hypercars in the future.

With just brands that are already in thr game we could have
Lamborghini LMDH
Alpine
Newer Toyota
Genesis
Wouldn't count on the Alpine, there's alot going on with that brand that doesn't inspire confidence of that happening. Lamborghini...might want to wait awhile because at least motorsport wise, they aren't looking too hot right now.

Though they are already in the game, it would be nice if the Lexus RC F & Mercedes AMG GT3's could get their position lights/digital displays added as GT Auto parts like we've seen with the more recent Ferrari 296 & Porsche 911 (992) additions, since the Lexus & Merc both compete in WEC.

I wonder if there will be some more GR3 new/updated cars to go with the Porsche and Ferrari we got a couple of months ago?
The BMW M4 is one that many people have penciled in due to it's appearance at past events, but if it does appear, it will likely be paired with/come after the Road going version comes to the game, as PD like to align the road and race versions of cars (GR.3 Beetle not withstanding)

The other car that would make sense without needing to model and add new road cars is the Corvette C8 (unless PD wants to add a proper Z06 model to go with)

Any Aston GT3 would likely be the previous spec, as the current GT3 car is a generation newer than the '18 Vantage we have in game, unless again, PD decided it's worth modeling both a new road car and the race car.

The McLaren 720S and Mustang GT3s would require PD to model a road car to go with, and since it doesn't seem like McLaren has gotten all that much post launch support, I'd pencil them in the ,"will believe it when I see it" category, while the Mustang Dark Horse is still relatively new, so whether PD has had the time to scan one, or where it sits on the development/priority pipeline is also something I'd need to see before I'd consider it likely.

PD could still make their own Mustang Gr.4 and Gr.3. They’ve done it before the real race car programs were even announced. Why it’s taking so long, if they’re even considering added those cars, I have no idea. However, as we’ve just seen, I wouldn’t count anything out.

I could see that as a possibility, BUT most of the new "dream cars" have been Gr.4 cars or Gr.1 VGTs, and have been tie in promotions with certain brands. I'd love for PD to make more original GR.3 and Gr.4 cars (and even Gr.2 cars maybe?) But it seems their focus is elsewhere, which is a shame, as some of my favorite cars in GT history were cars where PD ran wild (Camaro LM anybody?)

They had a chance with the recent Camaro Race Modified but squandered it IMO by making it a "tuned car" instead or a proper race car. Would've been great to see it as a proper GR.3 car.

Hell if it weren't for the potential of P2W accusations, I'd say the Power Pack Mustang American Racer should've been Gr.3 as well

I always thought the Mazda Atenza/6 would make for a cool PD-original Gr.2 car due to its size. A fictional 4th option for Super GT competition.
But Gr.2 is the only Group category to not feature any fictional cars.

That’s the thing. So unpredictable. Add all the other Power Pack cars like the Supra, Skyline and Levin. So weird their body panels are not available in GT Auto, at the least. The Camaro seems like a car for the Power Pack(of course now it can be used in the Power Pack). Just weird how they do the players at times.

so refreshing to see an GT update where every single car is a great addition, there isn't one "meh" econobox or SUV you'll never see again after adding one to the garage. Can't wait to inspect them in detail with the PSVR2.
Speak for yourself pal, I don't have the slightest bit of interest in any of these cars. Would unironically get more use out of a Volkswagen T-Roc, at least I can use that in custom shuffle races, build it up to a PP limit, have fun lobbies with my friends. Not like you care for anything I say, you'll just poo this post as you always do.

Please stop overwhelming me with so much information the moment I wake up in the morning.
It prevents me from feeling happy right away.

That said, I never understood why there weren't any Gr.1 events at Le Mans until now, but hopefully this will lead to an increase in Gr.1-related events.

At minimum we need the BMW M4 GT3. The M6 at this point feels ancient.

I would think that the manufacturers would want to have more up to date cars in the game to compete with the newer Ferrari and Porsche, I know BoP tries to level it all out but people do seem to prefer the newer cars.

Cool that we're getting another Safety Car, but a bit of a shame that it still isn't implemented as a gameplay mechanic, even if it's just on the initial start like we saw in early GT Sport footage. Though would be even cooler if it came out in the event of big multi-car crashes & yellow flags, with the option to turn it off of course.

Also double-file rolling starts are something very much missed, especially as that's the most common start procedure in GT / Sportscar racing.

Even funnier is the fact that the money making event is composed of Gr.4 cars, which honestly do not feel like appropriate given the nature of Le Mans.

I was just going to say. We're getting another safety car that won't be used for its intended purpose, so it's basically a duplicate? Unless that's something new they're implementing with this update. Maybe it's just a symbolic thing of them acquiring the licenses for these cars.

They still get used in independent league racing, so there's that. Just not in an official feature capacity.
Also will likely be turned into a police car for the cruise lobby community, so the car will have use even if a new SC feature isn't added.

Was the last time we had a new safety car added when we had 3 in a GT Sport holiday update? (Dodge Charger, Renault Mégane, Toyota Crown). If so, that was ages ago lol.
