Then remove the lid. Remember, it's all paved. With GT7's rally physics being what they are, my hype for Pikes Peak is well contained.
OH IS IT!?it's all paved.

I didn't know.
In that case ALL ABORD THE HYPE TRAIN. Choo choo

It’s a sign to use the new scapes added to GT7!This could be a sign... probably.
Should it ever be added, Circuit Experience for it would be a nightmare...The 2026 event is on this weekend, so it's more likely just a nod to that. I think the last update also included a Pikes Peak photo scape location too?
It would be great to have the full Pikes Peak as a circuit (well, time trial location) in both paved and semi gravel forms in GT7, but i'm not going to hold my breath for it.
Add to this a Suzuki Escudo engine swap, a reverse Circuit Experience at Fisherman's Ranch, and a new race event at Fisherman's Ranch too.The 2026 event is on this weekend, so it's more likely just a nod to that. I think the last update also included a Pikes Peak photo scape location too?
Because they always leave the oven on even when no-one are cooking.Feels like there's enough smoke now.
Well the whole point of Circuit Experience is to learn a track.Should it ever be added, Circuit Experience for it would be a nightmare...
I genuinely think it's the opposite - they don't usually add Scapes for a track unless they add the track alongside it, so I think them adding the Scape before the track is a sign the plans to add the track to 7 have been canned.Feels like there's enough smoke now.
I'm leaning towards they are setting something up.

Why?I feel like if PD does add Pikes Peak into GT7, then I feel like it would be a PS5 only track or mode in GT7 but who knows at this point.
As it currently stands, the PS4 can handle basically every circuit without lagging. The only times the game doesn't get constant high frames is on certain tracks with other cars around the player (Nordschleife with heavy rain at night, and Yas Marina, for example).I feel like if PD does add Pikes Peak into GT7, then I feel like it would be a PS5 only track or mode in GT7 but who knows at this point.
Other than processing requirements I think it would be a good incentive to get people to finally upgrade to a PS5Why?
Have you played the game on both consoles, especially going back to PS4 after being used to PS5? It absolutely lags and is not a nice experience. Should be left behind, we’re way past that point. As it currently stands, the PS4 can handle basically every circuit without lagging. If Pikes Peak was implemented as a Time Trial track, there wouldn't be other cars around. So if the concern is performance, that wouldn't really be the reason to not have Pikes Peak on the PS4 version.
To put it into perspective, the PS4 is about two years older at the moment than the original dark grey PlayStation was when GT4 was released. Ancient doesn't even begin to describe it.Should be left behind, we’re way past that point.
Technical limitations, especially with Pikes Peak and it's altitude causing power reduction at higher altitudes. Why?
Maybe, but I can see PD using Pikes Peak as a guinea pig to test those types of things in GT7 and perhaps get it ironed out by the time GT8 arrives. Not that I necessarily think this would be affected by PS4 limitations, but did Kaz once say that he wants to simulate engine power loss at altitude if he was going to add Pikes Peak back to the game?
And it had the Jaguar, an extremely underpowered CPU that was borderline obsolete even in 2013, never mind now.To put it into perspective, the PS4 is about two years older at the moment than the original dark grey PlayStation was when GT4 was released. Ancient doesn't even begin to describe it.
I don't have a PS5, nor have I ever played GT7 on a PS5. Again, just like I mentioned in my post, GT7 on PS4 only lags in certain conditions, in which Pikes Peak would likely never be under. That was the point I was making.Have you played the game on both consoles, especially going back to PS4 after being used to PS5? It absolutely lags and is not a nice experience. Well... you’ve played one version of the game so you’re missing an entire perspective in this discussion. I’ve played both. You’re under the impression it flows fine because you haven’t experienced it on PS5. I did one of the recent TT’s (alone on the track, Monza that particular time) on PS4 because I was away on holiday and no, it doesn’t flow particularly well. It looks considerably worse and it’s playable (ish) but that’s it.I don't have a PS5, nor have I ever played GT7 on a PS5. I was under the impression that this rule wasn't the case until recently because, IIRC the two classic F1 cars from Forza 5 came thru some kind of deal with the Rush movie (and I could be completely wrong about that but I remember discussions back then talking about how the Lotus 97T was GT6's lone F1 car whereas Forza was able to get those two cars alongside the latest Lotus F1 car). The problem is, the "limit to one brand of F1 car" rule always felt like it was unofficially limited to the early '90s or so, and anything before that was considered a classic that was allowed to be freely licensed.
I mean, I've played the game since launch on PS4, nearly every week. I think my perspective is perfectly valid, and playing on the PS5 wouldn't change my opinion.Well... you’ve played one version of the game so you’re missing an entire perspective in this discussion. By Forza Motorsport 6, they also had both the Ferrari 641 and McLaren MP4/4 together.I was under the impression that this rule wasn't the case until recently because, IIRC the two classic F1 cars from Forza 5 came thru some kind of deal with the Rush movie (and I could be completely wrong about that but I remember discussions back then talking about how the Lotus 97T was GT6's lone F1 car whereas Forza was able to get those two cars alongside the latest Lotus F1 car).
