Not joking when I say this is the best time to doom post. The more negativity the better the surprise. Seriously.

I recently posted a mock photo of the GT2 cover of the McLaren F1 from the driver's view(was hard to cooy the light to illuminate the gauges accurately). How long before we got that car in the game? Twenty years.

How long until we got the most requested car(E30 M3) voted in this website? Twenty-five years(the Sport Evolution in GT Sport doesn't count).

How long have we even waited for legacy original tracks to resurface(literally)? Ten years.

For those that don't have a PSX/PS1(One) and Gran Turismo 2, the last time Pikes Peak was seen in GT and put out to pasture was twenty-five years ago, when Gran Turismo 3 debuted.

PD been adding cars on cars from past games and some specific to Pikes Peak and all the Gran Turismo 2 nostalgia. Still doesn't mean we'll see Pikes Peak... and I'm sure many of us know this. At least we can look at it in pictures.
I genuinely think it's the opposite - they don't usually add Scapes for a track unless they add the track alongside it, so I think them adding the Scape before the track is a sign the plans to add the track to 7 have been canned.

I would love to be wrong but I don't think PD are the type of company to build up to it like this.
The Albert Park Scape is a bit weird. Although the Scapes are “down the road apiece” from the actual park circuit location, why those Scapes? So much brief rumour of Albert Park Circuit and nothing comes of it? Maybe it’s in the works or maybe not.

Maybe it comes right before they release GT8. That would be such a PD thing to do

Albert Parks an interesting one because Scape data for that specifically did leak at some point, either early GT7 or late GTS. I would imagine the shots we have were taken at the same time the circuit ones were, but obviously the circuit ones haven't been added for one reason or another.

I'd almost guarantee they would be if the track was, but who knows if that'd ever happen.

Also worth noting that the Albert Park scapes data was found alongside the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve scapes data, and the latter has since been added both as scapes & a proper drivable track.

Exactly.

I’ll post an idea here

so not to throw off this thread.

Though the ID.R can be fitted with the Pikes Peak spec side skirts, but apparently the Pikes Peak version of the car also had a different rear wing which we can't change in-game.

The ID.R also doesn't feature the #Pikes Peak car type tag. Only the Escudo & Quattro do.

Though Pikes Peak is brought up in Brand Central text.

Tangent Edit:
I just noticed/was reminded that the ID.R's specs are the exact same as most of the Hypercars:
670BHP & 1,030kg lol

Not to mention the infamous interview/stream of some content creators back in 2022 with a poster hanging on the wall that had the shape of Albert Park designed on it

With all this talk about Pikes Peak, I can't help but to wonder: are we expecting the track to be playable in races, or a TT exclusive like the Nürburgring Touristenfahrten and Endurance II layout? Would we be able to drive it downhill like in GT2? With no pit lane, can we have fuel use and tyre wear enabled on the track? (And can we NFS Carbon competitors off the track?)

It’d make realistic sense as a one car TT. Like I outlined before, a never ending open TT. Run what you brung. From the big wing clad CR-V and Hyundai Ioniq to the actual purpose built cars.

I guess there would be an initial Credits TT using one or more Pikes Peak cars from selections current and maybe a new car.

Pikes Peak would work very well in a new Mission Challenge event (been eons since one of those been added...) which you start out a very mundane road car in the first event, go though a bunch of different of machinery until you're driving the Escudo or the ID.R for the final challenge.

Downhill race : escape the volcanic eruption in a Volkswagen Samba Bus.
Hillclimb race : escape the T-Rex in a Volvo 240 Estate.
Overtake challenge : escape the giant tsunami and be the first to reach the summit with your Subaru Legacy.

It looks like they'll retain the trophy for worst TV broadcast of a motorsport event again this year...
I put it on TV and there was just a Zoom call on for about 5 mins, turned it off and went upstairs lol, they just never know how to make it a good spectacle.

It makes me feel sorry for them, sharing the only measly microphone available. Under a tent.. Polyphony Digital didn't need a huge amount of money to obtain the exclusivity, pretty sure that.

We may see a car at some point, I guess.

I do wonder how long these sponsorships like the N24, Pikes Peak, Fraga's Super Formula etc will continue. It's not a secret to anyone who's read any gaming news in the past year that Sony wants its game studios to rein in their budgets so they don't need to sell 5 million copies just to break even, and that's spending that nobody else in the studio group is doing so it feels like an easy target to cut should they be asked to.

I wasn't aware that GT4 (Gr.4) cars were such a big category at Pikes Peak these days. Guess it helps that the road is 100% tarmac now.

Varies, but the real question should be what is PD's budget and development costs compared to other Studios under the PS umbrella

Gt7 is the best selling game in the series and n1 by far for revenue, plus a 30 euro dlc just for some races, another dlc next year maybe if ps6/gt8 are delayed,it's doing pretty well don't worry
Also Sony killed evolution studios bc they wanted GT to be the sony car game, rip driveclub you won't be forgotten
