Actually I want snow-covered variants for the tarmac circuits which are in a place where is possible to snow.
Just like this:

But snowy Spa is too risky to drive on!?

I drove my E30 to work on (unsalted) snow covered back roads two weeks ago, and it was an absolute blast and kinda changed my prospective on driving in the snow. Definitely 100% has a place in a GT game.

I would much prefer what you suggested, rather than Polyphony making new rally circuits just to have snow in the game.

Winter driving is one of my favourite things to do in the world but if you're talking about a RWD, I'll see you in a ditch somewhere.

Actually, snowy versions of circuits could make for some fun racing and keep rally cars relevant in the game. Maybe for future GT instead of trying full rally, just do snow races on regular circuits instead plus rally cross tracks.

Some snow tracks like Chamonix were funny with friends, but I don‘t see them in the important part of th game for myself. Won‘t be a game changer.

Right now, what is the expected GAME CHANGER of GT7?

The Ring on ice pure fun. One of the great things Project Cars 2 allowed. This was also lots of fun in Project Gotham 4
PGR4 allowed me to take the F50 GT and the Ts020 GT one on the Nordschliefe with snow covering the tracks!!

Unrealistic but it was the best thing ever!!!

This is the great thing about videogames we can do things that wont happen in real life.

You'd be surprised how well a E30 325 can handle some packed down snow on the road with some good tires. I certainly was. As long as you know the limit and short shift when you should, its very controllable and can be enjoyable.

Bah. Next you'll be saying games should be fun.

Not really im for all realism but also dont mind having some fun. Immersion is actually what im talking about.

Pgr4 may not be realistic but it was an immersive experience. Nothing wrong if GT goes for some immersion.

Immersion isn't thinking it looks and feels like reality but rather not thinking about it at all and just being in the moment. A mobile game can be immersive. You're right that fun equals immersion.

Asolutu i think I spelt it wrong was actually not bad game. When I first played it has GT all over it.

Underrated mobile game. Mobile games if done right can be fun and immersive.

GT7 doesn't need to be game-changing to be good.
It certainly can still be a good game if nothing game-changing happens, but there's an argument to be had on it not being an excellent game though if it doesn't break any new ground over the previous games. People can find the same format stale and want something different.

I mean, I'm perfectly content with just playing the game as is assuming PD improves the A.I. and physics. and adds new kinds of events to keep the racing diverse. but as I've seen in these threads, there are definitely fans that would like more than what was given in the past. In honesty, it's probably worth trying to change things a little, not a lot. Just a little.

On the topic of snow again (because why not), there's at least 1 thing found in the GT Sport datamine that suggests it's at very least in development.

It goes by "test_snow_ishibashi" in the code I believe.

This is likely to be just a test environment for snow and snow physics rather than an actual circuit like Chamonix. "Ishibashi" I think was worked out to be a name of the developer that made the test environment.
It remains to be seen as to when Polyphony decides to make a circuit using the physics that are in development. It could even be in something like a rally update where they have those point-to-point stages found in GT5's "Special Events" section. That would be a cool career mode expansion.

I pre-ordered the game knowing full well that it wasn't going to bring anything ground-breaking the table. Not that it had to IMO. I just want it to be a modern version of the classic formula that I loved soo much.

I believe the lack of cars in GT7 (compared to old GT games) is understandable, but we want something else to make up for the lack of cars which we aren't getting
The game will have 428 super premium cars at launch which i think are a lot especially considering the amount of detail that these cars have...and probably they will add a lot of cars with future updates like they did with GTS.
Than we will have improved physics, dynamic time and weather with real time generated volumetric clouds and according to Kaz with drying lines that will form with the passage of the cars (this will open a lot of variables on race strategies) , classic tracks that will make a comeback like Trial Mountain or Deep Forest, tuning, career mode etc...honestly i wasn't expecting all of this stuff on a game that has to run also on the base ps4 but i guess people are never happy these days

Is it though, when most of the cars are ripped straight from GTS, and when most of the game is being based around a PS4 architecture?

improved physics,

We don't know this. If the game still has the wonky driving dynamics that is present with FWD and MR vehicles, then can we really call it 'improved' physics?

classic tracks that will make a comeback like Trial Mountain or Deep Forest

Turned into Tilkedromes for no other reason then because they could, turning what was originally neat, well defined fantasy tracks into otherwise flat ones in terms of look and feel.

career mode

We know for a fact that the career mode will be the typical GT career mode fare, and unless things change (which I doubt they will, but they absolutely should) will contain the standard moving chicane AI that has defined GT 'difficulty' (or lack thereof) since GT5, so is this really a benefit?

but i guess people are never happy these days

The bar has been raised by the competition that Polyphony seems to only acknowledge, and never take from except in very specific circumstances because it is an easy lay up. People absolutely have a right to be critical when Polyphony basically pats themselves on the back for a job well done when the vast majority of press material has shown a game that bases itself so heavily off of GTS, and is trying to lure people back with a campaign that is playing very hard to nostalgia while not offering anything new.

I don't know about you, but I don't exactly think paying 90 bucks CAD for the PS5 version for a game like that isn't exactly a good deal, no?

This brings up something I saw last night on Youtube.

TL;DW - The title says it all, bad games are better than bland games.

I'm not sure I agree with "better", but "more interesting" absolutely. I would rather GT7 shoot for the moon and fail spectacularly than it be GT6 Spec II - UHD Edition. I'm more interested in Grid Legends than GT7 at the moment not because I think it will be better (I'm 99% sure it won't be), but I think the likelihood of it being a wild ride of a dumpster fire will make it a fun experience that can't be found anywhere else. I'm curious to see how they do the live action stuff and whether something like that could be done in a non-cheesy way by more "serious" games.

I think at this point in the franchise Gran Turismo has done the same thing so many times that they don't need to be game changing to be good, but they do need to be game changing to be engaging. GT5 did a LOT of things wrong in retrospect and was frustrating as hell sometimes, but it sure was memorable. You can't say that they didn't try hard to make a game that was at the top of the genre with GT5 - it just turned out that their reach exceeded their grasp.

This doesn't mean that Polyphony should throw away what worked in the past. They absolutely should not. It does mean that they need to extend themselves beyond what has worked in the past and add to it. Not only will it not be good enough to make a game that is just GT Sport with the GT6 career mode tacked on, it won't even be bad enough to be entertainingly bad. It will just be another racing game built on a design that's 20 years out of date. Woo.

I don't doubt that Polyphony can put together a competent game but I have an entire library full of competent games, many of which already do the same things GT7 is proposing. I want them to show me something I haven't experienced before. Even if it's something ultimately turns out to be a failure. Gran Turismo Sport was not and will never be a mistake, despite how poorly it was received and how few people ever used it's core feature.

At this stage, it’s not even about the amount of cars. It’s going to be about AI programming and dynamic conditions. The physics won’t concern me. Can’t be worse than GTS.

The PP system, appears to leave no car behind. So, that’s sorted.

It’s going to be about the tools. The basic, buy your beater and tune as you race and save, is probably the same formula. Livery Editor and photomode will be as big as ever. Will the solo player be left to do the PD events over and over, with the same lack of options for Custom Race? Will the Lobby community still have to rely on good faith, instead of good options, for the duration of GT7?

Reading concerns over the past four years and few months of GTS, it’s going to come down to those main questions the GT Community been asking for the past twelve years.

Well, having 3-4 new tracks it's not something that PS4 wouldn't handle... It's a matter of storage space and time to develop those, not an hardware costraint.

About dynamic weather, time, improved physics and real time volumetric clouds and drying lines and other stuff I completely agree, it's very groundbreaking that a PS4 can handle that with such a dated hardware compared to the younger PS5 sister, at the same time with very good graphics and realism. Pretty impressive, GT7 will definitely push PS4 to the limits.

Yeah of course i was talking about the latter. Idk how the ps4 will handle all that stuff at 60fps with that crappy cpu...maybe they will lower the resolution or implement a dynamic one
