State of Kaz!

Some slightly bad news about this guys - spec 3 is the next numbered update (1.64). Nothing next month or November then.
I'm good. Hopefully they will add the AZ1, MidgetII or Speed 12. Any one of those will be awesome. Still can't believe they are adding the FTO. I can't to see the liveries for it

Excellent news, needed an excuse to get back into GT7.

I hope this means we'll be getting basic QoL updates to PSVR 2 we've been clamouring for over a year for (basic HUD customisation springs to mind).

And also a bit of a Sport Mode refresh...like please guys start using the dynamic weather/time of day features, race configs etc?

Glad to see they're still supporting the game, I keep saying this but GT7 is an amazing platform as a racing game, it just needs certain tweaking particularly with the online offerings to reach its full potential.

Very cool! I figured a Spec 3 would be coming at some point. We should wait until more info is revealed...I like the info that I see including a couple great car additions, and the tracks are fantastic choices, but I assumed the announcement would be a little more "grand". Like an economic overhaul, or endurance race series, something like that. We shall see.

What is the data logger?

No one mentioned (probably because trailer didnt mentioned as well), but the news page says:

"・Improvements to online races"

Maybe the requested "Daily D with 1h race"? Or new Leagues besides GTWS?

Also Kaz (and the news) mentioned changes to Circuit Experience. I'm imagining they will allow you to use any car now. This seems silly but will help a lot with practice.

It's a ~1992-94 spec car based on the lack of side protection for the drivers head and shoulders and that shape of nose.
That was 96 when the high sides was enforced - however it's certainly that time frame. Could well be a FW17 - I think it looks like its got those silly rear wheel winglets that started appearing later in the 90s too it's the rear brake cooling ducts

So on site there are supposed to be 8 cars in this update.
4 are on screenshots
5th I assume it will be Xiaomi Su7 which is teased a lot
So 3 cars to go for speculation :D

Seeing Spec III is a great and very welcome surprise! I mentioned a few months back when we got the last F1 car that PD should do more generic cars and not worry about licencing. I am delighted to see another car in this vein.

I hope for a LMH or LMDH car to be part of the eight too.

On that, actually, I never thought about it, but a generic modern LMH car would be interesting too. If licensing is an issue. I know it wouldn't quite satisfy folks who want the real cars, but if there's no better option, or even if PD would rather make that over no real LMH cars or fewer real cars, I'd take it.

So ****ing excited that when i saw the F1 car i just instantly thought that it was a late 00s one. I have an itch that the last 4 cars, 1 will be of course the SU7 and the 2024 GT500 trio

Are you expecting and entirely new game? Ya, by all accounts, this is a major update. This more than the standalone "My First GT" that was released last year.
Eh, its less what I expect them to add (which is/was very little at this point cause that's been the pace lately) and more what I'd consider a "major" addition to the game. Maybe there is more to reveal in the next couple months, maybe not. I've written down thoughts before so I'll try to keep it brief.

B-Spec mode would be a big "feature" and seemed to be rumored. Would I use it much? Probably not but that does feel like a substantial addition to a game like this. Maybe this Data Logger is an early aspect of that.

A way to make and save Custom Championships or Custom Events.

Multi-Class Racing. Not that critical I guess since the grids are still small. Wouldn't have that much affect on the game I think. Just be a nice option for endurance races.

More of a quality of life thing but: Let the user hashtag "#" their own cars and then organize/sort them into categories. They already have hashtags on cars. This would be useful for us who create custom grids and cars. Let me make "SCCA", "Touring 1", "Touring 2", "Group A", "BTCC" etc tags. Then I can go to Custom Race, select Select from Garage, then just pick a tag or two and it'll fill grids with any cars with that tag(s). I have over 500 cars at this point.

Better support for Endurance race formats? Whether that be through pre-made events or championship. I know Sophy custom race is decent but it still feels incomplete. Only using Slicks or the tires they came with (I want to be able to use Sport Softs for club-tier racing, in my mind, DOT Slicks) Or like still various cars and track combos that don't work with Sophy.

Just some examples. Obviously everything doesn't need to be in one big update but to me these are things that would actually affect overall gameplay. My biggest thing is just a lot more cars and tracks. I wonder what the difference in licensing costs is between smaller, regional circuits (Mid-Ohio, Ebisu, or Oulton Park) are vs big international ones like Silverstone. Cause I, personally, would much rather have more smaller courses than fewer bigger courses. Use that extra money to hire more artists.
