Still excited for the Nismo R32, though the real problem that no one is talking about is how I already bought like 8 of Vspec 2 to make a bunch of Group A cars for my grid.. And now I might need to do that all over again to make them more appropriate. Also all those people have to remake the liveries lol The pain!

I guess the swaps/part stuff is alright. I'd be interested in swaps if they actually added realistic/cool swaps. Like an FC and FD 13B engines (Naturally aspirated and turbo versions) into an NA Miata. Or other Miatas I guess. Or F20 or Blacktop 20v or Beams or a Formula Atlantic engines for the AE86. Various RBs into other Nissans.

I have zero interest in all these bizaro, cRaZy, wild and whacky swaps that I guess people think are cool? Like sticking Ferrari V8s into an FRS 🤦‍♂️

New layout, and the tuning shop now has information about the type of engine

People still might think its a crappy update (your right) but you cant deny they added some nice QOL to the game. We aren't getting new tracks as frequently as some would like but this is one less thing to ask for. Honestly, im not sure i expected this to be added.. so kudos.

Pretty sure we're all actually excited for the weather radar changes the most 🤣

You know you can put the FD engine into the NA Miata right now, right?

With the option to buy engine swaps and special tuning parts I'm excited what else is in store for the update. Shame there is no new track or track variant and the three cars aren't not really exciting, at least for me.

I think I’m old school, haven’t been much for tuning a car as it seems unrealistic to me. That said I’ve saved a few cars or made them more fun to drive using some mild tuning. When you can tune a corvette so high youre blowing away bonafield race cars something just seems unrealistic about that to me.

I’ve got about 10 engine swaps in my tuning parts that I’ll never use, wish I could sell them. I understand a lot of people wanted this so I’m glad they got it. Going to keep my fingers crossed for PD to dump a pile of tracks on us for the next update, it feels long over due. I don’t even care if they’re all fake original circuits and I don’t even care if they’re brand new completely made up and not Autumn Ring or whatever, just something different to drive please.
"haven't been much for tuning a car as it seems unrealistic to me" - What? Literally MILLIONS of people tune real life cars...

"When you can tune a corvette so high you're blowing away bonafide race cars" - What? again. Race cars have limits on weight, on power, on aero etc. You can 100% tune a real life corvette to beat a race car. The ridiculously bad AI aside, people build race cars from road cars ALL THE TIME.

Whether you like the update or not is fine, but to say that you don't like tuning because you're "old school" and it's "unrealistic" is genuinely daft. People have been modifying and tuning cars almost since cars existed, it don't get much more 'old school' than hot rods and things like that, as an example.

The parts that you've been gifted from tickets, that show up in gift section in your garage, should be highlighted in the Tune Shop indicating that you own the part and if selected ask if you want to install the part.

Weight reduction 5? the weight Reduction 4 is only available after a ticket roulette, so...

Man the weight Reduction, car invitation and engine swaps are conditioned with that roulette. What a pain in the neck, PD needs to do something about that.
I have only seen weight reduction 5 via tickets. There are plenty of cars that you can do up to 4 in the shop already.

Cool cars, will definitely have to pick up the Alfa and GT-R. The tuning stuff is a nice bonus too.

Not all cars have the option for WR4 so I wouldnt have thought they would have a roulette ticket for WR5.
The Veryon has WR5 as a ticket. I won that one a while back. Not all cars have WR4, some cars don't even have weight reduction at all. Every car is different.

I understand people tune cars, but to have a C4 vette or whatever tuned to blow away a Mazda 787b or 917k on straights and cornering just doesn’t seem realistic to me. Mind you some of this is without weight reductions or anything so you’re literally throwing HP, suspension and brakes at it and suddenly it’s putting bonafide race cars to shame? Idk. Seems off or unrealistic to me.

But then again people were jacking up the back ends or front ends whatever they were doing, adding weight and a ton of HP and almost bypassing pp limits by doing that before they fixed it so who’s to say they don’t have something 100% correct there?

It’s just my opinion, I’ve got a GR86 fully tuned, the thing does 265mph or something like that on a straight, I’m not even sure that car would hold together at those speeds. i remember seeing a Ferrari and Hellcat going head to head on a high speed track, the hellcat was reaching similar speeds but the driver said, in the Ferrari it’s smooth I can push it further, the hellcat he said the thing is falling apart, trim pieces are coming off or about to come off, I’m a little bit scared.

I stand by my opinion. I think the tuning aspect of the game isn’t all that accurate. I’m glad it’s there, I’ve been able to wake up a couple cars with mild “street” tunes, but the extreme tunes just don’t do it for me for the reasons I mentioned. They’re not accurate, they are what they are. Talk to you later, just going to put a full computer on my 1969 Camaro.

Sorry we are not all talking about how you bought a bunch of cars to make up a full grid and that you might have to do that all over again. How selfish of us to not be thinking about you and your actions. We will try harder next time. ;)

I re-read this a bit after I posted it and knew someone was going to say this  I meant more.. a lot of people bought a bunch of the R32 specifically to replicate the Group A version. And having to do that again sucks a lot more than not having another boring Gr3 car ;)

Given the news of the changes to engine swaps and S Parts, I feel like the roulette tickets mean nothing to me now and there is no motivation to earn them each day. Since the 3rd or 4th month of GT7 they only mattered to me because that’s how you got engines for swapping, S Parts and the 500k and 1M Cr. prizes were nice. Now that I won’t need them for engines or S Parts I really don’t care to get my miles everyday just for the chance I’ll get one of those or a bonus 500k to 1M for the day.

So, would this be evidence of Polyphiny paying attention to their crowd, or was this part of their plan all along?

Were they testing the waters to see how people responded to the inclusion of engine swaps and special parts?

Regardless this is a good move, I just wonder what the team at Polyphony has in mind.

What about the turns?
Just like reality-
You can swap a high hp motor into a small lightweight car, it will go fast on the 'strip",
But
That Ferrari is gonna handle on the turns, track etc., but the swapped vehicles only have high speed.
Most of the high hp swaps on these tiny cars with 14-16 stock wheels, yes i agree are unrealistic a bit, but dont handle for ----.

Now take something with some tire, like the m3, or pantera, that could actually use some more power, and those swaps are not !! As famine puts it-

they are much more driveable and realistic.

Almost useless in sport, purely for fun in singleplayer, and public lobbies.

..and Why not put a computer in a classic vehicle, enjoying modern-day performance and fuel economy. Irl Truck is done and working on a second for my Camaro.

So the current 39 Gr.3 cars aren't good enough for you? The latest Mercedes Gr.3 car we got in the last update wasn't good enough? You need more?
To be fair, most of the Gr3s are just recycled from previous games. Sans a few, they're old and outdated, some 10+ years at this point. Sure, we do have some newer ones and I am not overlooking those; but, most aren't. Quality over quantity... I don't want more, I want new. Give me the Ferrari 488 or 296 and you can have the 458 back. How about the new Mustang, Vette C8, Aston, etc?

Of course, PD won't delete cars from the game (actually, I wouldn't put it passed them!) so adding more - simply for not outdated, decade old race cars - is the path.

Then consider that 90% of the Daily races include a Gr3 race. So yea, the Gr3s as a whole need a refresh.

not unrealistic at ll, you just need to get out more friend. :) We have an annual event called the adelaide motorsport festival, kind of a mini goodwood here in adelaide... at the last couple of events they have run time attack cars against bona fide 90's F1 v10 monsters - the time attack cars were modiifed skylines and rex and stuff with 1000+ hp and massive wings, aero, downforce, etc... and they ate up the F1 cars head to head on the track... so not unrealistic, it is real, it happens, people modify cars and put enough oney into a chassis with power, aero and no restrictions and they will easily beat upp on purpose built race-cars that have to be built to strict rules and guidelines...

MTX uptake not good enough, so they had to give us more stuff to spend credits on... ;)
If we're talking about the ability to spend real money for in game money, then this would make a little sense.

But there's no way to purchase roulette tickets with real money. I thought that might eventually be the case at some point when this game first came out, but here we are.

I even thought PD was testing the waters with the inclusion of the daily roulette spins, seeing how we'd react, and deciding if they'd add the ability to purchase roulette tickets based off of that.

As a lifetime Gran Turismo player, I don't see PD being all that into paid content, but rather once you buy the game, you get whatever is added... besides in GT5, there were a FEW purchasable DLCs, and I can't recall if GT6 had purchasable DLCs or not.
