A couple of questions on that:
  • How, exactly, is the price of the engine swap determined? Judging by the single-source screenshot of GT Auto (a 2020 Civic engine headed for the 1998 Civic), it appears that there is a 100,000-Cr. premium over the cost of the donor engine in the Extreme tab of the Tuning Shop. Said 2020 Civic engine costs 27,500 Cr. in the Tuning Shop (1/2 the 55,000 Cr. the car itself costs in Brand Central).

The engine itself has a value assigned to it within the system. If you win a ticket through the roulette it has a value assigned to it (recommended retail price?) - so I'm presuming it's tied to that.

My bigger question is that some engines have NA under the price... Does that mean some engines will still only be obtainable through the roulette?

Also-
That swap is much more than the advertised motor value on its roulette ticket 🎟 -

25k value k20 ticket cost 127k at gtauto?

what will be the markup for the 1mil 787b? 🤨

Are they going to devalue bonanza swaps?
Curious to see how seeling my overflow engines in prize cars for profits will fluctuate 🤣

The engine swaps were one of the things I was hoping to see in this update so that is awesome. I guess I have something to pour credits in. I hope they allow a swap XJ220 so it can have a nice V12 like it was intended too

I never thought to see the day that the engine swaps will be finally available to purchase in GT Auto... even if they're that much expensive!
But it's a step in the right direction, at least.

I wonder if they will fix the Carbon Propeller Shaft's, they currently do not lower the weight of your car but they do improve the acceleration performance numbers. 🤔

I know that. In fact, that's how I'm able to tell the new price of a Hagerty's/Legend Dealer car that doesn't have a purchasable new engine through the Tuning Shop (like the Mazda 787B) when an update that changes Hagerty's cars' prices drops.

I'm guessing that those engines will be purchasable as swaps only, much like purchasing a wide body, given the swap purchases are through GT Auto instead of the Tuning Shop. The question is what the premium is going to be - a flat 100,000 Cr. or a sliding scale based on the cost of the donor car, much like the price of most parts from both the Tuning Shop and GT Auto.

Of course, it goes without saying that the ONLY reason PD gave us buyable special parts, is to incentivize MTX’s
Yes I have credit card ready 😄
Unpopular opinion: I don't give AF about engine swaps (or anything else in this update)
Give us a new Gr.3 car or two and a new track (cough Sebring cough)
Edit: oh yeah, and converting street cars to race cars.
That's cool if this not a good update for you. Everybody is not gonna like every update or may not have things you are interested. Maybe next update we'll get a track and some GR 3 cars

Insert learn-to-code and learn-to-market memes here for those people.

Do you think a replacement engine for the 787B will ever be made available, what is the reason for not being able to replace a worn out one?

So the current 39 Gr.3 cars aren't good enough for you? The latest Mercedes Gr.3 car we got in the last update wasn't good enough? You need more?

I think I’m old school, haven’t been much for tuning a car as it seems unrealistic to me. That said I’ve saved a few cars or made them more fun to drive using some mild tuning. When you can tune a corvette so high youre blowing away bonafield race cars something just seems unrealistic about that to me.

I’ve got about 10 engine swaps in my tuning parts that I’ll never use, wish I could sell them. I understand a lot of people wanted this so I’m glad they got it. Going to keep my fingers crossed for PD to dump a pile of tracks on us for the next update, it feels long over due. I don’t even care if they’re all fake original circuits and I don’t even care if they’re brand new completely made up and not Autumn Ring or whatever, just something different to drive please.

I genuinely don't understand why people that want this game to be nothing but up to date GT3 cars just don't go and play ACC. It's all there for you.

GT is about much more than race cars. Whether or not you like that is fine, but it seems counterproductive to whine on a forum that you are getting more than GT3 cars in a game that's about more than GT3 cars.

Weight reduction 5? the weight Reduction 4 is only available after a ticket roulette, so...

Man the weight Reduction, car invitation and engine swaps are conditioned with that roulette. What a pain in the neck, PD needs to do something about that.

They’re about my least favourite car to drive. I mean they’re not bad but I just find they all feel very similar. Im glad to see that alfa in the update, would like to see an older ford escort or cortina or capri too.

Not all cars have the option for WR4 so I wouldnt have thought they would have a roulette ticket for WR5.
