I created the Chaser LM with the Crown Athlete. So it will be wonderful to make this properly now that we are getting the Chaser. As kids me and my Brother would call the Chaser LM, the Smoother car because art drove so smoothly. :lol: Good memories.
 
My prediction is that one of the Toyota's is 5-speed manual, while the other gets the 4-speed auto.

And neither of them gets more than 5-speed gearbox even when fully upgraded.

JTCC/LM edition Chaser had 6-speed sequential.
 
Part of me was wondering if the Chaser would have either the TRD or Tom's bodykit as an option.

A Caterham was one of the few cars in my personal wishlist left so I'm very happy with this update even if the two sedans do nothing for me. I believe many others have wanted them so always happy to see an update catering to different tastes. Frankly, if we got a Yellowbird and a Ferrari 360 in the future I'd have very little else to ask for.

Seeing how we seem to get a lot of custom part for the cars we get in update I wouldn’t be surprised if we get those or something similar…

I also expect to see the N performance parts for the ionic 6 N

Pretty good selection of cars. While I'm not necessarily a 90s JDM nut, I can appreciate the historical and cultural value of the two Chasers. The Ioniq 6 looks surprisingly good and nice to see another manufacturer added with the addition of Caterham.
 
I love that they are adding Hyundai N models, I just really want that some day they will add the i30N as well (and since I'm dreaming, the Fastback version, not just the hatchback).

Since in the teaser we can see that the car have a bigger wing than the standard ioniq 6, I expect it to be the N variant.

This trim was shown last year I reckon so it will either be added has a 2025 or 2026 car. We also usually get the “remove wing” option so I’m guessing you could turn it in a standard ioniq 6 if you want….

Spoiler is a real spoiler so open at your risk 😉

The update was also leaked and it is said to be the N car…

This update caters to different parts of the wider GT community. Mainly the drifting & track day parts this time.
The last update served the motorsport part very well, but there wasn't really anything for the rest of the community to chew on. We were due an update like this really.

As for Super GT cars specifically, with Igor Fraga now competing in the series with a Honda Prelude-GT GT500 for Nakajima Racing, one would think that only increases the likeliness of newer GT500's arriving at some point. I mean, they already have his Super Formula livery feature in the Spec III intro movie.

They might even want to pair new GT500's with a circuit, like how the Dallara SF19 was released in the same month as Autopolis.
A return for Twin Ring (now Mobility Resort) Motegi has been speculated for years, though Sportsland SUGO & Okayama International Circuit would also be fitting candidates for a themed update.

I wouldn't be shocked if we get a road-going Honda Prelude alongside the race car either, like when the 2021 Subaru BRZ was added in both road-car & GT300 form in the same update. Pretty sure there are other similar examples too.

On a complete tangent, the Caterham on the way I think is going to be the closest thing we'll have to a Lotus in GT7 lol

Yay, Caterham! Please let me put the 2&4's engine in it so I can emulate a Fireblade.

The sedans could look good VIP Style.
 
If the Caterham comes with the Suzuki "Twinbusa" swap, I'll probably make a JPE variant. Closest thing to one.

Which, incidentally, I also have the same 1:43 scale model as that photo.


(I know it has an Opel race engine in real life, but the Suzuki swap is arguably the closest to it; and with the pattern of that engine going to lightweight track toys, that may seem to be the case)

One Chaser, one Mark II. They're different cars based on the same platform (along with the Cresta) and sold at entirely different dealerships: Toyopet and Vista/Netz respecttvely.

So... it's complicated but yes.

Toyota essentially had four entirely different sets of dealership: Toyopet, Corolla (Publica before 1966), Vista (which became Netz in 1998), and Toyota.

Each sold distinct model lines: you couldn't get Supra anywhere but Corolla stores, Sprinter Trueno was only at Netz, Soarer was Toyopet. There was some crossover and I think some models migrated to different stores over time, but that's pretty much the up and down of it. The stores still exist, but Toyota streamlined it all in 2020.

It makes the sub-branding of GR, Century, and whatever else seem sane though.

I suspect we might see a record for the amount of liveries made between the Toyotas. If the widebody adds the over fenders to the Chaser, PD knew the mission. ;)
