Not if it has objectives. Racing at Wangan in Japan usually seeing tother racers there is kinda common.

This would be great for online! Pull up behind a racer, then wait for him/her to confirm the race and then both of you are flying off dodging traffic with a hp bar that goes down when you are behind or when you hit something. How does that sound now?

This is GT you are talking about..?

Seriously, just go back to Need for Speed.

Ok all I really wanted was to have The Wangan in Gran Turismo. I did get carried away. I ditch my ideas apart from having The Wangan.

Genki published this? Isn't genki a tuner company?

Ever heard of the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series? They've been developing and publishing racing games for a long time.

Nope. Seems interesting though.

I respect your opinion.. But this sounds worse than loading screen/times. But I respect your thought.

Thanks, but it can be optional as I understand that not everyone want's to mess with things like this.

Would be amazing if they did that, made it optional so if you were in a rush you could skip to where you wanted to go, and allowed joyriding with some nice scenery. This could be integrated into photo mode as well allowing you to explore the environment with a camera in hand and take pictures of the car in different places or even whats going on in the city. I used to love to do that in GTA San Andreas.

I really like the thought of implementing photo mode to the idea. I mean we can put the car wherever we like (for the most part) so why not drive there?👍

I absolutely LOVE this idea.
They could even base their/our Home map off a real region. Like a screenshot from Google maps.
Have it "country based" depending on your country of origin/playing base. :)
Then cruise around the destinations using real roads that we are familiar with. 👍

I am not sure PDI would have the time to do that, but "cruising" is what I would really love to see.

The older I get, the less fullspeed I like going when I am playing my games. I know I will never own a Lambo or Ferrari, so the idea of driving one through town sounds exciting to me since I enjoy driving my car around for the sake of driving it and looking around town.

Woah wait! You can also go to the track. Freeroam could be to travel to GT Auto, car dealership, used car places and tuning companys even maybe auctions? And finally where you get most of the money and fun -the track.

Sound better?

Sounds alot like what I posted, so yes, I think it sounds great!

They make some of the best racing games on PS2. Wangan Midnight for PS3 is their latest game based on the Manga/Anime/Film Wangan Midnight. I have it although you can only get imports from Japan and China. But even tough I did. I know how to play it. Little instructions are found online in English.

Cool. I will defiantely look into it one day.

I wonder since GT6 is going on the PS3, is its GT Life mode gonna be a small open world where we can explore that city GT5 had? I sure hope so.

He did say "Might be on PS3" There is loads of evidence to back it up that it will mostly be on PS4 tough.

Ala Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 with interchangeable highways, tunnels, traffic, bridges, and full day night cycle. (5 secs per minute)

Freeroaming in GT6 based on Google Earth would be fantastic. Where players could submit photos to PD in order to make the world look even better (Photos with GPS location obviously). PD could call it Gran Turismo World. Got a nice ring to it...

(Out June 2024 hehehe)

No free roam please. I'd play burnout if i felt like crashing into traffic at red lights.

Who said that the free roam will be about crashing into traffic at red lights? There are tons of possibilities how you can take "freeroam".

freeroaming as an addition to GT6 proper, not as the main theme. In GTworld you can have driving school. Where you learn how to behave in traffic etc. With License test and rewards ofcourse.

But most of all I want GT6 to be both look fantastic and be able to suddenly scare you. I want this because in real life. When things go wrong, they go wrong very fast. You very easely panic and freeze up. This kind of fear has allways eluded the Gt series in my humble opinion. And old, and very buggy, rally game called Vrally 3, first introduced me to this kind of fear. In particular the rally portion of GT6 would benefit massively from this. That and proper rally physics on gravel, which in my opinion is something GT games has never done realisically. Asphalt racing is fantastic, but gravel and maybe even snow is something PD seems to struggle with. Probably because the hardware (ps1,2 and 3) never had the kind of power PD needs to pull this of realisically. PD are perfectionists, allways have been. I'm thinking realisic physics on gravel were PD calculates the physics of each individual pepple. Mental I know, but that is why we all love PD and Gt series so much I think.

With the ps4 being so easy to code for, maybe...maybe PD has the time to fix the rally portion of the game and make Gt truely realistic and sometimes terrifying. With authentic crashes... without the blood ofcourse. Don't want to make peope sick and messing up your expensive new hardware.

I honestly think this is important. Because we don't want people who play Gran Turismo to go out and race like maniacs in the real world. Because that is inherently dangerous. By putting a little fright in these people from time to time, I think you effectivly remind them that if they did this kind of racing out there in the real world, they would most likely end up in the hospital or worse. Safety has allways been important to PD. What do you guys think?

It sounds like that would be rather interesting. Introduce the fear factor of hurting the driver or crashing the car so bad it is beyond repair would deter fast speeds in the corners. Would also deter the people who try to crash into your car on purpose from doing so. Or it'll encourage them.

Yes why not. Free roam would be nice. As long they don't downsize on the GT5's courses.

Didn't that game have exactly same place as SSR7? If I remember right.

I'm not sure. It might have. I'd have to play it to be sure.

But as far as the free roam goes, it would make drifting a little more fun. Especially if there was a mountain pass or two in the free roam. Touge would be easier as well if there was a place besides Toscana (Tarmac) and Nürburgring that we could run on.
