Regular PS5 user, has anyone else felt the car viewer framerate to be a bit... woeful?
Especially compared to the rest of the game. Seems very jittery, which considering how limited features-wise it is, is a bit odd.
I guess it’s because the graphics settings are set high in that mode. For example I noticed yesterday that I could see the car’s interior being reflected in the mirrors.

About that. Dead serious. I was looking in my garage at my Spoon Step WGN at about 10 am(It's 845pm now). When the car spun around to the back, I could see the front seats reflected in the driver side mirror crystal clear.

I figured I'd try that in the Car Viewer. Didn't go so well.

Since there's no focus option, I couldn't try to see if it makes a difference.

Has anyone noticed a change in the standard AI since Thursday’s update (1.72)?

I’m talking about Quick Race on the hardest difficulty, not Sophy. The AI seems noticeably faster to me, and I’m pretty sure it now runs at 100% throttle on the straights instead of the roughly 95–97% it used to.

I can’t seem to catch up with them on the straights anymore. Am I imagining things, or has anyone else noticed the same behaviour since the update?

Well Autumn Ring's Xbox counterpart, Maple Valley on Forza, was set in New England.
Could also be in the seasonal forests of Michigan, where I don't think there are any map dots too close currently.
I'm going to guess it'll be set in Japan though.
Gonna throw in another guess for where Autumn Ring might be set.
The benefit Polyphony has with its fictional circuits is that they have the ability to set them anywhere. Look at how High Speed Ring was put in a very remote part of Japan's north island Hokkaido for example.

What I also notice on the Asia-Oceania map in World Circuits is that while Japan itself is densely populated with track icons, the west of the map is less so, particularly in the area of Korea which takes up a decent chunk of the space.
So Polyphony might choose to set Autumn Ring somewhere in South Korea, rather than Japan.

We recently saw from screenshots of the Spec IV intro movie that Autobacs is a notable sponsor at Autumn Ring, similar to how WeatherTech is at Grand Valley, so Asia would be the best guess for the continent. And although Autobacs don't have any stores in South Korea, they did still feature on the GT4 circuit Seoul Central.

So that's a new theory/guess.

I think the rewards given for the new level-ups are a joke.

I’d like to see some actual rewards for all the time that I, or rather that we have invested.

How about something like: "Congratulations! You’ve reached level 75; you can now use any vehicle you like in all races with a limit of up to 450 PP." Then, from level 80, the limit could increase to 550 PP, and so on. And at level 100, if that ever happens, it could be completely open, up to 900 PP.

Indeed, the car viewer works far better in the Livery Editor, for both navigating around the car and framerate.

I wish they had made the car viewer more similar to the dealership in Gran Turismo 5. I really liked flipping between the different lighting conditions and seeing the lights turn on and such. It was such an elegant way of doing it.

But does the game specifically indicate whether it's talking about dry weight or kerb weight? Surely, the dry weight would be more consistent because people have different weights as does cargo.
What? People and cargo are not part of a vehicle's curb weight. Curb weight is a vehicle weight with all fluids included. For crying out loud...

Full of people and cargo would be GVW (gross vehicle weight).

Sorry, Google AI also mentioned people and cargo as part of a car's kerb weight. Perhaps it's wrong 🤔

Ive golded all sectors of Sugo in the circuit experience but struggling to string together a gold lap and finding myself 1.7sec away. A bit frustrating but I just need to get into that zone where I relax a bit and everything flows.

Those kerbs at Sugo are pretty high, probably best to not approach them with too much vigour...

The BRZ felt nice here for the 20 lap race they added, it's kind on tyres so you can put the softs on and split it into 2x 10 lap sprints.
I know the feeling  It only takes a weird angle!

Cockpit camera view is always funniest 🫨

is this using DLSS5 or it was that good?

If you're referring to the image of Seoul Central, that is a screenshot from the first YouTube video result that came up from typing "gran turismo 4 seoul central" lol.
The description seems to indicate it's running on PCSX2, and was uploaded in 2023 so likely before DLSS5. Still probably has a graphics boost compared to original hardware, but that's as far as my tech knowledge goes.
