Daaaang, ok PD. I see you. I'm probably in the minority, but the Motul Civic was my fav FF in the series post GT1 and the OG Prelude. Autumn Ring returning is fabulous. Please keep the classic tracks coming! I have missed out on buying the Toyota SUV 3x in a row by seeing it listed in the LD and sold out. So the concierge service would be great to fill in the last car in the game. AND Shuffle Racing? I guess I'll be racing online again just for that, haha. This all sounds like some unbelievable dream somewhat

Winter only officially begins on the 21st, so I guess we might actually see autumn ring in autumn for real.
There are two different answers to when autumn actually starts.

The first is called meteorological autumn, where weather scientists divide the year into four exact seasons of three months each. That means autumn always begins on 1 September and ends on 30 November. This makes it easier to compare temperatures, rainfall and sunshine from one year to the next.

The other answer is astronomical autumn, which starts at the autumn equinox - usually on 22 or 23 September - and that's when day and night are almost the same length. After that, days start to become shorter and nights get longer.
or there's British autumn, which is usually just a couple of weeks in October before winter sets in :nervous:

I have to say, that $60 for the original game has been quite the bargain with these continual updates (i won't think about the hardware costs...)

Unpleasant opinion here but perhaps there is something to having a digital only purchase and not having to buy update disks....

In certain cultures etc etc...

Trees are rarely adorned with orange leaves by the end of December.
Ok but december has 21 days of Autumn and we don't know the day the update will come.

And are we asking the update to come the exact day the leaves will look like that? C'mon.

Must say first six cars are.. interesting. E60 M5 surely high on many list. The Motul Civic - yeah, maybe a nice onemake niche. The rest? How can you land 6 cars with 4 so controvercial? A minivan, 2cv, updated duplicate of a fantasy Gr3 and a VGT.. I can already hear the voices this will raise. 😂

Played GT2 and GT4 as a kid, got really into GT and car culture upon the release of GT5 in 2010. Made a GTPlanet account around that time to soak in the glory of the hype and speculation of that release.

After more than a decade I am logging back on to post a THANK YOU to PD for bringing Shuffle back. I'm very excited that they are starting to focus on the biggest flaw in GT7 imo - not the cars, tracks, or its technical brilliance but the fun game that's supposed to be the center of it all. Hell yes to the Concierge, Car Viewer (interior views/opening doors please!!), and cheers to more QoL updates that made the past games effortlessly fun. Hoping for host migration, matchmaking/streamlining lobbies, selling engine parts, and more features that build community for GT players, car enthusiasts, and everyone in between!!

Right after that single summer day 😅

Now I want to see what are they going to show at Singapore, hoping they will reveal the 6 cars that did not get revealed, I can totally see 3 of those cars being the 2024 or 2025 GT500s

Shuffle Racing is back! and it looks a fair bit more balanced
I hope there will be one or two more classic cars like the BMW 507 or the Toyota Celica from the Datamine for example, or one of the Peeble Beach Winners

Bringing shuffle back is no small favor. To me online shuffle was the peak of casual drop-in racing. There is no better way to get a quick fix instant dose of racing bliss.

Toyota Mark II, the much-coveted BMW E30, E36, and E60, and random races from GT5.
People have been asking for these things to be added for over 10 years.
But Polyphony's policy was to stubbornly stick to its vision of the game. And instead of BMWs, they often added strange concept cars.
But now something is changing.
I respect the uniqueness of GT and Kaz's vision.
But I hope that in the future they'll change the engine sounds to a more "correct" one.
I understand that the engine sounds, with their strange squeals when downshifting, sometimes reminiscent of a vacuum cleaner, are a legacy of the GT series. It's not a bug, but a feature. And Kaz likes this sound because it reminds me of 90s arcade games.
But for me personally, it's one of the main stopping factors in the GT series.
Perhaps they could have added two sound modes. One is a classic engine sound, the other is a realistic engine sound.
You have to understand that a realistic, proper engine sound is something like Race Room or Avtomobilist 2.
I don't think it takes a genius to distinguish an engine sound that's close to reality from one invented by marketers.
Many games have strange, even disgusting, engine sounds. For example, in all Forza Motorsport games since the fifth installment.
Or the sound in DriveClub, which sounded like you were always driving in a tunnel.
We don't need that, but the current sound in GT7 is jarring and interferes with the immersion of driving a car, rather than feeling like you're in a retro game.
You don't want a sound that's too dry or contrived; you want a sound that feels like it's in real life, and maybe a little embellished for added drama, and with well-thought-out transitions during gear changes. I think with today's neural network technologies, this could be easily achieved even without recording real cars with a microphone.
And why not offer custom engine sound settings, perhaps for greater realism or a more retro vibe?
Marketers will object, but the public will be pleased.
And we understand that GT is valuable for its conservatism, which allows it to resist marketing simplifications and distortions.
But in places, this conservatism is too stifling.
At the same time, the FM series had no immunity to marketing sabotage in the areas of physics, graphics, and engine sound, and ultimately resembled a prostitute who died of sexual diseases.
Therefore, a living old nun GT is better than a dead priestess of love.
But even nuns need to soften their ways a little.
