Is it considered fair or unfair to add new cars during the GTWS and when has this been done before?

I am in two minds - on the one hand people find the car that suits their style and people train on that car, but also being given a fresh car adds an element of being able to adapt, and showing ultimate all round skill.

That's just a surface level view from a low level casual! :dunce::lol:

Things that shake up the races are good for spectators but can be really unfair for the competitors, and I wonder if this is one of them.

Assuming you mean the Live events, the Ferrari 296 GT3 last year following the Spec III update immediately springs to mind (Though its debut was..less then ideal).

Singapore is a dream trip for me, my mother was born there. This might be the excuse I need to go nuts and max out the credit card.

One of my favourite street circuits. Might even be my favourite actually.

I've already been spoiled by Polyphony adding Road Atlanta & Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, plus Albert Park being datamined in Scapes like CGV was originally.

If it ever did happen, Marina Bay would add a bit more variety to the locations in the Asia-Oceania region of World Circuits.
Same can be said for Shanghai, if the Yangwang U9 video was a hint for the future that they'll arrive together.

I can dream :D

If you’re going that far you may as well stay for F1 GP the following week. It’s an amazing place to visit.

I for one am massively excited for these cars! Kudos to Polyphony for coming up with this!
 
What exactly is stopping people from making these liveries in livery editor? Am I missing something? :D

Well, 1, nothing there a bunch of player created ones, 2, these are official stealth liveries and you can only get them by watching until it's recreated and uploaded by a random player
 
I think the article fails to mention that the original Stealth Models were slightly tuned and therefore had a performance advantage. If they did this with these cars, they would need a separate BoP for them, so I suspect they will just be liveries this time.
 
So can we qualify for these cars today or need to wait till may 23 to watch?
 
Saw that, that’s cool, i actually need the Toyota in my car collection too and the Porsche looks very cool in stealth

That's a PS3-era thing - the RX-Vision GT3 Stealth Model, while a standalone car, does have same performance and thus BoP in GT7.

The problem with user–made liveries is that the quality tends to be all over the place. Not to mention the fact that user decals show up at a much lower resolution than official liveries. Also, Stealth Models have traditionally come in clear carbon fibre, and that's basically impossible to recreate in the livery editor. (Yes, I know the livery editor has Carbon paints in them, but those just never looked right to me somehow.)

I personally think that it's neat to have a special gift that shows that we've been here for this particular part of the Gran Turismo journey. In the past, they've had 0 mileage car gifts that just didn't seem special, or some GTWS winning car's livery that doesn't do anything for me as a non Sport Mode player. The Stealth liveries are so instantly recognisable as Gran Turismo, and it's a neat way to give all players something special while keeping the playing field even for newer players who won't have access to these cars.

This article needs a bit of a correction, stealth cars have been around since GT4 in the used car sections when accessed on certain days. They had power & handling advantages over the standard livery counterparts

The four cars in GT4 were not given different official names. Players tended to refer to them as the Black Beauties but that wasn't their actual designation.

To my recollection they were identical to the base cars in as-standard specification but suffered from engine and chassis wear, because they were used cars, and needed a chassis refresh/oil change/engine rebuild.

Stealth, as a standalone, official vehicle designation did indeed start in GT5. The Black Beauties were probably the spark - in the same way the the Citroen GT by Citroen was the spark for VGT, but isn't itself one.
 
It's pretty cool to see the stealth cars make a return. Maybe they will the chrome line cars back from GT6 at some time

That'd be fun to see them come back as prize cars or something. I'm certain there are accurate player-made liveries already. We've got all the base models for the Chrome Line cars in GT7 except for the first-gen V10 R8.

Does anyone know if it's only gifted if u watch the live stream, or like the other cars that were gifted as long as u watched the replay b4 link was closed in a week.

Does anyone know if it's only the livestreams u get the cars or will it be like last car gifts in that u could watch replays and still get the gifts.

Any time until the entry period closes:

And you don't need to watch any of it. Clicking the button that says "Entry Available" is enough all by itself (it goes grey and says "Entry Submitted"), and you can back out right away.

Thankyou, much appreciated, our club is running an 8hr nordschleife endurance race the date of championships so will be missing live event.

Pretty cool motif! But I noticed that the article doesn't really mention the "Black Cars" quartet from Gran Turismo 4 - were they not spiritual predecessors to the "Stealth Model" label? Especially with the Toyota GT-One, which was part of this quartet, but doesn't seem to ever have had an official Stealth Model version in GT5/6.

EDIT: Furthermore, three of the four Black Cars are in GT7, with the Nissan R390 GT1 being the sole missing example. Could it be that the Porsche 911 (992) GT3 R took its place for now, and the next round of the GTWS will have Stealth Model versions of the Mazda 787B and Nissan R92CP?

You can call GT4’s black cars the spiritual successors to the “Stealth Models”, but as @Famine explained above, they are not Stealth Models and are beyond the scope of the article.

The article is written to provide context about the Stealth Models. It’s not a detailed report on their history or speculative origins.

The performance differences are acknowledged.

It is neat, but the fact anyone can recreate this in livery editor makes it not as "special" as they used to be in GT5.
 
I had the Stealth Model Mazda 787B in Gt6, that was my go to car for the super class races. Great to see them back in Gt7! Especially with the GT One being one of my favourite Japanese race cars!

Just asking but you don’t need PlayStation Plus to receive these do you?
