hi there
there's a game i'm playing called Grand Prix World. It's an F1 management game which starts in 1998 and goes on for up to 10 seasons (up to 2007). You get to manage all aspects of an F1 team, including driver and staff contracts, sponsorship and component deals, design, testing, car setup, etc.
Anyway, I was having a look in the game's main folder on the C: drive, and I saw that there are many items which are things like .bmp and .jpg files. This made me think about possible modding opportunities, such as including more tyre, engine and fuel suppliers, new drivers, new circuits (possibly), new sponsors and also repainting the liveries in 2007 team colours. There are also some .avi video files and .wav sound files which could be modified as well.
if anyone wants me to send them some samples of all of that, plus some of the menu interface layouts, buttons and stuff, which could be modded as well, then just PM, e-mail (woodwiss@btopenworld.com) or IM (same e-mail) me and I'll send you some stuff.
One thing I will say is that the game does implement factors such as new engine (Toyota), tyre (Michelin) and fuel (Esso) component introductions and driver retirements. The game I'm playing is in 2001 atm, and Montoya (who starts the game as 1998 Williams test driver, as in RL) has announced his retirement already
Thanks!
