Finally a confirmed date!!!

the only unfortunate thing I see on this list is the lack of seasons, can't win em all
 
I think I might book the release date off. I'm just wondering whether this will out sell Halo 3 in it's first week.
 
Considering its getting launched on PS3 + Xbox360 id say it will.
 
I remember when they first said it would be set in NY I was like oh no not again, ive played through it like 2 times! But now the game is so in depth and a realistic representation of NY I can't wait!

One thing Im curious about is that Niko doesn't seem to be a ladies man or have a love interest, all the other main protagonists were a bit sleazy in that respect! :lol: I know its not key but it would be funny to have someone like (forgotten her name from GTALCS) who nags you to take her shopping all the time! Oh and also have the eye candy.... not a sausage fest!

I don't get how the release date is so far back! They were hoping to get it out October last year!..... who on earth came up with that date! :lol: Roll on the demo!

I would put money on GTA 4 being GOTY. I just hope it lives up the the hype like the previous GTA games.

We don't know yet, actually. The previews just said nothing romantic was shown. I'm sure we'll still encounter something.

There's only a few unknown reasons guessed as to why such as the PS3 being the solution or Rockstar not having the multiplayer at the point they wanted it. Either way, it's safe to assume it just wasn't done, obviously.

And if the game follows anything like the last 3 GTAIII titles, there probably won't be a demo. The time left will most likely result in touching up multiplayer and then going through bug testing.

If we've learned anything from the last 3 games, it'll probably blow past people's expectations.
 
few more months to go WOOOOO :D
bad news is.. since GT5P should be here in the US in few months as well.. i wont be playing GTAIV as much :(

If you choose to go to a bar you come out drunk, everything is blurred and movement is difficult. If you get in a car whilst drunk it opens a side mission of getting to a particular place while you're hammered. Everything is adjusted to compensate for the alcohol you just drunk so expect carnage and many pedestrian deaths.

Just wait till Jack Thompson gets wind of this - as if he wasn't foaming at the mouth enough about games like GTA, here is a GTA game that "encourages" drunk driving!

I hope they bring back the rampages.

You could get drunk and high in Saints Row and Jack Thompson never did anything about it. It gave you blurred vision and everything was in slow motion. GTA has nothing to worry about.
As I said above, it looks like GTA4 has used a lot of ideas from Crackdown and Saints Row. Along with the cover system from Gears Of War.
 
Is anyone going to bother buying the special edition? I only want the artbook.

Play.com have it for £69.99. I will probably buy it, take the artbook & soundtrack out and flog the rest on Fleabay.

Nah I dont really buy into this special edition stuff unless THE GAME features something added or different. Seriously that special edition costs sooo much and the only thing worth it is the art book. The bag costs like £2, the keychain cost like 50p, music CD is like free (the music will also be in the game!) and the safety box max £5 but just cos it says IV on it they are charging £20-30 for it! £60 at amazon.uk

I think they are trying to get people to buy into the hype.. but thats my personal opinion..

Save the money and put it towards HALF or FULL PRICE of another PS3 game or have a field day on PSN!

Well the game isn't released until 29th April (I think). So if you pre order you will get it hopefully on that date or maybe one day before.

Grand Theft Auto IV's website just got a major re-vamp, and I think you'll all like it. The city is very large if the home screen is anything to go by, and the music is just incredible. It fits the tone.

I like the Roman Bellic character. He's either getting threatened, running people over or falling over drunk. I hope they keep updating the site until release.

I also noticed the multiplayer tab at the bottom which says "coming soon".
 
I can't wait for this game, it has been too long since I played a new GTA.

Those videos are great, especially liked the Whizz Wireless one. :lol:
 
78 days feels so long to wait.... considering how much great info we are getting it feels like the game is much closer than it really is.
 
78 days?? It hasn't been delayed again has it?? I guess I'm out of the loop-- I had already circled March 6th on my calender-- I've been purposely avoiding knowing anything about this game.

If anyone wants to play IV without any spoilers whatsoever might want to avoid the site-- I checked it out and it looks great but started giving me info I don't want to know-- I don't even want to know how the city map is laid out (which is on the first page) and it looks like it has character info too

Site does look awesome though....
