it's as much of a 'sim' as the ps2 offers...excluding maybe richard burns rally

I was meaning the people getting over emotional over others 'inferior knowledge' of tuning/mechanics

but if I was to name a 'proper sim' it would be a pc title....

but GT4 is unique (although I have only played prologue) and I cant wait to get a copy!!

Hopefully. He said his friend would get the final build today, so he should be able to tell us some more news.

Point: I've been around and doing press for sometime, and fact is, as much as I've always begged SCEA, they've always told me that there are NO builds available. More than likely he is creating fuss for god knows what reason. But it's highly unlikely he has a "friend" in SCEA who just so happens to have a build of GT4. Polyphony does all of their quality control testing in house. There is no reason for the Japanese company to have significan affiliation with the US branch of Sony. Believe me, there are people who speak and translate english etc at Polyphony, they do not need SCEA to play this game and "beta test it". I'm calling a big red flag, splattered in BS.

the press never get beta build from sony. the press could only get a final game a week earlier then retail.

today is my friend's day off.... no new info yet. he did find a few dvd case with GT4 cover in the trash a few days ago.

yes thats nice and all, but still the only thing SCEA gets is the final master copy from PD. PD has its own US, Euro, and Asian offices.
 
I'm oblivious to why anyone would even remotely believe this guy.

Well, actually there's one reason. But i don't think most people would like to admit it.

Well, let's see, you had a handful of pricks calling him a liar and another handful of junior moderators trying to get the thread closed. So I wouldn't really expect any response from Hyde. A**holes getting threads closed for no reason...

It started out as a list of bugs and issues that need to be addressed in US GT4. Then it turned into a wishlist and what people want in GT5. All peppered with people saying "Hyde's a liar" and fanboys saying if you don't like GT4 as-is, go get bent.

SCEA does not do quality testing. Period. Your friend does not have and will not get a build of the US version. There is no reason for a DVD case to be in the trash. Unless of course SCEA is top secret all of the sudden and they are now destorying any evidence of GT4...so they trash all the DVD cases suddenly...

For those who are buying his story, I feel sorry for you.

Okay, we have tons of wish list threads, and two bug threads, Hyde creates a thread saying he knwos people, who dont' exsist, yet I am a prick?

So you're telling me that with all the complaining people do about repeat threads, and I call him on a lie, and in a thread that's been done to death...yet again I am a prick? Okay....
 
Didn't say I agreed with the wishlist crap. It was supposed to be a bugs [and other critical issues] list. SCEA should at least be made aware that GT4 is being submitted to us in a crippled state, completely lacking garage battle which is one of the major draws of the game.

Companies are continuing to seal themselves off from the public as they realize that they have very little to gain and everything to lose by talking to the public. Companies are also realizing that they don't have to offer good tech support anymore since nobody else does. It's collusion by coincidence.
 
And I suppose the other reports of GT testing done by SCEA are also false?

Come now.. do you really think that SCEA is going to spend all that money to print up a game that they didn't test to make sure it works properly? If there's a problem, SCEA pays the bill.. they're not going to trust PD or SCEJ with their money.

Fact is, imported games ARE tested by SCEA. And I can prove it right now. You own GT3, yes? Go look at the manual. Look in the back, under "Credits". Right after PD's listing, you'll see a section called "Sony Computer Entertainment America, Production". In and amongst that group of people, you'll see a few with the label of "Quality Assurance". Including a group of no less than eight people with the title "Quality Assurance Analysts".

Now, are you trying to say that all of those people, who are listed as employees of Sony Computer Entertainment AMERICA, are all secretly working for PD and are actually located in Japan? Puleeze...

When the game is gold, it's gold. PD is no longer working on GT4, they haven't been for several weeks now. Game goes gold, they turn it over to SCEJ, and it's SCEJ that tests it and sends it out. The same holds true for SCEA and SCEE.
 
What I'm really wondering now is, are they just waiting to release the game until March because they want to use it to push sales of the PSP, since it seems that GT4Mobile is slated for the same release date.

That would make sense to me from a marketing standpoint. Sony finally is breaking into the handheld market, the PSP is out in Japan already....need to make a big splash here to compete with the dominance of the Gameboy.

What better way to do it than throw it out right next to GT4 Mobile? They you'll have everyone either buying all three, or having to decide whether to plop Fifty on the PS2 game, or 200 on a PSP and a game...

That's possible, but as far as release dates are concerned, the last I saw from a GameSpot in Maryland was Feb. 3rd. Then I came across this article...

and they claim that GT4 should be out next month...

Actually, that would be one of the worst ways to do it. The last thing Sony wants is for customers to have to decide on a single version. The best way to make money is to release them separately. That will greatly increase the chances of the customer buying both.

Besides, there's even less of a date for the PSP version than there is for the PS2 version. I doubt we'll see GT4Mobile for at least another six months.
 
Haven't posted here in a while, so let me ask. Maybe I've overreacted about this probably being a fake. With all the stuff that Hyde talked about in Post #1, a lot of stuff could be changed for the American release. But what do you think should be the biggest concern to address from the Japanese version?

you know, there are thousands of people working in SCEA.... i happen to know one of them, you think its a big deal????

so did u think that SCEA is operated by robots or something???
 
All this talk about thread closure... if we keep arguing like this, this thread is going to get shackled up for good. You know endless arguing results in closure at least 80% of the time. I didn't want to get labeled as a "prick," so I wised up and actually gave this deal a chance. Most people would rather be like "**** you and this thread." If Hyde's actually serious about this, why question his credibilty?

Just trying to relieve my "prick" status from earlier.

Who the hell really cares, if Hyde is speaking the truth or not? What's the worst thing that could happen if he isn't? Absolutely nothing. You'll get your game either way, right? If he IS speaking the truth, however, there's a chance that a list of bugs may still be fixed for the US and european release.

So instead of just replying to what Hyde asked for, 15 pages is now wasted with bull**** that's got nothing to do with anything.
 
Yep, The only difference will be a legendary game with a few flaws and a perfect game, I myself having the Chinese version will also buy the PAL version if the major flaws are fixed. Garage 2 player, Full screen replays that can be saved in 2 player mode, I'll even live with the other minor bugs as they are if those 2 are fixed : )
