The Mini Cooper S has a six speed box; I am currently looking at a 2002 Mini price list (Mini part no - 9215100014606.02-2) and it quite clearly states that the Cooper S has a six speed gearbox.

Its the Mini One and Cooper that have the 5 speed gearbox, these two get the auto option as well, which is not availiable on the Cooper S.

i know a CooperS have a 6 speed
thats why i said Mini Cooper S have a 6 speed gear box, not a 5 that is currently present in GT4

You don't have to corroborate anything actually. I never said my friend or Hyde's friend was telling the truth. All I said was, the 2 of them are saying basically the same thing: There is a GT4 beta that's being tested for bugs... that's it.

I'm rather confused about this whole AT vs MT thing. In GT3 all the cars universally had one or the other based on how you set your options. Is that not the case in GT4? If a car is MT only in real life are you forced to drive it that way in the game? And the same for AT?

u can see when the clutch is engage in GT3 and 4, when the clutch is disengaged, the gear indicater light will not light up.

on real automatic with torque converter, there is no clutch. ur car will roll to a speed about 10km/h without pressing the gas pedal

The E55 in the game is listed as a 2002 model. In 2002 the E55 was still the old W210 body style, not the new W211.

W211 E class has been avaliable since 2001, 2002 do have the E55

in japan, model years are accounted the year the car is sold. if ur car is build in 2002 and first register in 2005 in japan, your car is consider a 2005.

unlike in america, where u can buy an 2006 model in 2005.

benefit of doubt? how bout no? the guy is either lying (likley) or he's been made a fool by a friend of his (even more likley). there's no way he has a friend that just happens to be playing a single layer version of the "final" game, it's just bullcrap, PD wouldn't risk having a near final version in single layer in the first place, because it would be a huge piracy risk, it's double layer that will guarantee it won't get pirated for a while.

the single layer copy lacks alot of stuff, its a english beta.
plus, all the demos before the final release was all on single layer disc.
he said the full dual layer english version wont be here till 2 weeks later. they are looking for last minute errors so it can be changed before the release date.
my friend said there was not even a GT mode in the single layer copy.
he is just making note of what WE have found in the final Japanese version. he is gonna check all these points if its fixed or not first.

i'm trying to get him to get me direct contact to KY.... but thats very unlikely. cuz even he couldnt directly speak to PD in japan.

I'm sorry, I have to call BS on this. Unless you provide some very convincing proof, I doubt you have a "friend" at SCEA. Why would they waste their time, essentially proof reading a game that doesn't even have everything to proof read? If they're going to make sure the grammar is proper, and everything else, they would do it on the full game, not some half-there single-sided beta.
Word of advice, if you're going to post something as major as this, have some proof to back it up, otherwise, anything you post in the future will be considered hearsay.
To sum up, if PD is going to send the game over to SCEA for Anglasised proof-reading, they're going to send the whole thing, not half of it, it would be a waste of time.

first of all, you still dont understand what is an "AUTOMATIC" gearbox and what is a "Manual" gearbox.

the AT and MT in the game simply means AT as it auto shift for you and MT is you shift the gear manually with the L2 and R2 button.

there are no pause between shift on automatic and shift quite a bit faster then the manual box

also the car sounds more like the real thing when there is no pause in between shift

ALL CARS can be driven in AT or MT other then the CVT cars (Fit and Prius)

They can but in real life all benz (except for the base modeols like the 180C which have a manual option) have torque converters ONLY and hence are automatic cars. Choosing manual just means you select teh gears but there still is no clutch arrangment so its still an auto. Its just telling the computer in the car to change gears.

If this is changed for the PAL release so they change like auto's, I'll be a very happy man.
(And maybe less flamage fomr mildly modded cars).

he couldnt release anything from the office of SCEA, he signed a non-disclosure agreement. you would be smart enough to know the consequences of releasing stuff from big companies like SCEA. if he can release stuff so easily, i bet every freaking build of the game would be leaked on the internet already.

i've seen him played closed beta of FFXI and he only showed me the footage after the game is released. and i know its closed beta cuz there is no way he can be invincible in the public beta or real version of the game. and as far as i know, there is no way that this game would run offline or cheat.


i dont really care if u ppl believe me or not. i'm just trying my best to change the errors in GT4 in the NA release.

so just STFU if u think this is a big joke. hell i dont even care if they fixed the NA version, i'm already playing my game

you are stating model years of the cars from US. not Japan.

plus i never said E55 was avaliable in 2001, i said W211 E-Class.

the E55 started its production in 2002. as a 2003 model.
GT used production year rather then model year.
