Great News!!! GT4 US release might be fixed!

Bleh. I sure hope SCEA fixes some of the issues with GT4, because as it stands right now the game isn't even out here and I'm already dissapointed with it. I could live with a lotta the issues it had, but no garage battles was the final kick in da nutz for me. As much as it hurts to do, I'm gonna have to take a pass on GT4 til they fix the multiplayer.

I love how all these great new features are included in this game, yet, one or two things are left out, and everyone is up in arms. Would you rather not have GT4 at all and have your bottle?

I hope the US release is indeed being fixed. That is the only logical explanation for such a massive delay.

And that's a nice theory you have there about the timing of them supposedly getting their beta copies to coincide with the US release. Ever think that he could have used that same thinking in coming up with the dates that they will get their "beta copies"?
You go ahead believeing everything everyone posts, have fun with that... Do you think anyone believed scientists when they said water freezes at 0 degrees celcius without proof, do you? Or that hot air rises, without proof? If that wasn't the case, people could make wild allegations, and everyone would believe them, but, each to their own (even if those beliefs are extremely gullible).

he couldnt release anything from the office of SCEA, he signed a non-disclosure agreement. you would be smart enough to know the consequences of releasing stuff from big companies like SCEA. if he can release stuff so easily, i bet every freaking build of the game would be leaked on the internet already.

i've seen him played closed beta of FFXI and he only showed me the footage after the game is released. and i know its closed beta cuz there is no way he can be invincible in the public beta or real version of the game. and as far as i know, there is no way that this game would run offline or cheat.


i dont really care if u ppl believe me or not. i'm just trying my best to change the errors in GT4 in the NA release.

Hyde, it is understandable that your friend is unwilling to illegally distribute a beta version of GT4. Nonetheless, the fact that you are broadcasting that you (non-sony staff) have seen it and played it raises suspicion, as that would be considered a breach of the confidentiality agreement. Further, the game has been released in Asia, and it is unlikely that an image of an English menu or disc would be cause for concern.

My endeavour is not to flame, rather to encourage you to provide evidence. If you wish to claim that you are the Dutches of York…that’s up to you. However, if you make a claim that you have input into a game we all love…then evidence is required.

what my friend currently is testing is if there is error in any of the cars, and tracks. they are getting the full version in about 2 weeks.

So the Japanese version wasn't tested at all? If the Japanese version was released, its been tested, re-tested, and prolly re-tested again. There isn't any reason to "test" anymore. The only thing thats needed to translation...

I never said I believed him. All I did was point out the timing. Most of the people here seem to believe in a mid-late February release. Hyde's posting fits that belief. And yet those same people, who believe in a date that Hyde supports, call him a liar. A bit hypocritical, wouldn't you agree?

Personally, I don't believe any of the release dates, simply because there's been no official confirmation either way. I have this neat virtue called "patience", see...

To answer the first question:
Yes...the thread is similar to the other wishlist threads but I don't think his intent was to make a wishlist thread. It just evolved into one... and then the flames erupted.

To answer the second question:
Yes. I think so anyway. We now know that there may be some differences between the US release and the Japanese release other than the language.

To answer the third question:
Only because the thread was filled up with useless posts (like the one I'm making right now ), not because the thread was useless.

I'm not surprised about the C6 Z06, but the C6? Come on! That car was shown just last year. PD could have easily modeled it.

There is no Corvette C6 in the game (as far as I know), and it was not posted in the "official car list" section of the forum. 706? You mean Z06? There is one in the game but its the 385-horsepower C5 model. Nike gave PD the license for the Nike Car, and so its in! It's all about the licensing why some cars are in the game, and some cars are not.

Back on topic: The original intent of this thread was to show the fact that there may be some minor differences between the Japanese release and the US release, not to request cars/tracks or anything of the sort.

I have a question about the whole automatic shifting thing. Does GT4 really have automatic shifting simulation (ie, smooth and direct shifts), but only the Mercedes Benzes have the problem? Also, if it does have this simulation, can it do other things an automatic normally does (such has have the gas at 1/4 throttle, and transmission will shift on its own at about 3000rpm, or... if you start from a dead stop, there is no " clutch engaging " rev to 2500rpm before the car actually starts moving). It seems like the only game I know of that has this simulation is the Ferrari F355 challenge.
