I have a question about the whole automatic shifting thing. Does GT4 really have automatic shifting simulation (ie, smooth and direct shifts), but only the Mercedes Benzes have the problem? Also, if it does have this simulation, can it do other things an automatic normally does (such has have the gas at 1/4 throttle, and transmission will shift on its own at about 3000rpm, or... if you start from a dead stop, there is no " clutch engaging " rev to 2500rpm before the car actually starts moving). It seems like the only game I know of that has this simulation is the Ferrari F355 challenge.

It doesnt do the "clutch engaging" thing, it will roll forward when off the brakes like a real auto and it wont wait till say 2500rpm to go. I will always shift at redline though like MrktMkr1986 said.

Really. That's a nice improvement. :) Thanks.

Can you stop requesting crap like cars and try and make this thread useful. Whether or not it works remains to be seen but it's surely better to fill the thread with useful things not stupid requests for crappy cars that we've seen a million times before in every thread and even on threads created just for them.

If you can find out from your friend about why 2player was cut and more importantly if it will feature in the later online version I would be grateful.. nothing else matters but that mode...

So just ask why garage was removed, did they forget it was it on purpose etc.. and why no replay saves on multiplayer also... he probably wont know but he may give better info than what we have atm.

Whoa people! Ok HYDE try and wedge this bit of info into the guys notebook on bugs/changes.

GARAGE CARS IN LAN MODE!

BE ABLE TO RESELECT STOCK WHEELS!

I couldn't care less about one drivetrain problem on some crap truck, or the wrong colors for a '63 Crapobra, but the torque converter fix would be nice.

The stock wheels is a good one, I like GT3's system the most as far as rims go, so it would be nice to at least keep hold of the stock rims. 👍

The Mini Cooper S has a six speed box; I am currently looking at a 2002 Mini price list (Mini part no - 9215100014606.02-2) and it quite clearly states that the Cooper S has a six speed gearbox.

Its the Mini One and Cooper that have the 5 speed gearbox, these two get the auto option as well, which is not availiable on the Cooper S.

I vouch for that, my friend has a Mini cooper S 2003 and I have driven it, it's a 6 speed manual transmision. :sly:

427 Owns you....

I love you hyde, seriously you are the reason I have been a part of GTP.

btw-any solid news on the US release date? My weak GT4 release date heart cant handle too many more set backs. Thanks so much, love nemo

Hyde I still believe you. I'm not a very trusting person, and the internet is bountiful with false information.

However, I know you have the game, and you've been very kind in taking a lot of time out of your schedule to post a ton of information and videos about all the features of GT4. Thus it makes no sense at all that you would simply make it a story about knowing someone who works for SCEA. You have no reason to lie, you have the game and could just forget about this site and play to your hearts' content.

I hope that our comments and discovery of small bugs on this site might help better the final NA and PAL versions in some way. Stay in contact with your friend and give us any news you can. thanks.

just a couple observations:

1) if hyde was really lying about everything, he could be lying about having the Japanese version of the game too - so he wouldn't be taking time out of playing the game in order to post on here
- I don't believe this, but you conspiracy-theory-skeptics might.

2) Hyde, your buddy can easily verify who he works for without betraying any confidentiality by taking a picture of his ID badge / Pay Stub / Whatever - anything that says SCEA on it.

I believe you Hyde - you have no reason to lie and you are a respected member of GTP in my view.

If he didn't have the Japanese version of the game, how could he have started this thread?

well, I would bet you could have gotten/made up most of that info if you really wanted to....I'm not saying he hade it up....I'm just carrying the skepticism to an absurd degree....it was my attempt at sarcasticly pointing out that people seem to doubt you when you proclaim "the sky is blue" on this forum.

- I'm not saying Hyde's assertion should be blindly believed, but it doesn't harm anyone to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the 2-player garage car thing as I don't know any one that can race worth S***, however; I would like to know why they took the analog guage out of 3rd person view. For me this is the most dissapointing thing about GT4.

Hyde, no one believes you now. Didn't I say, "Don't ruin it" as in trust?
Yes I did, and you did exactly that.

If this thread isn't closed by 10 PM Central, I will personally get a mod. The thread is worthless, there is nothing to back up the info, and the whole things sounds like a typical fake.

MY friend is always a liar's first choice on ther Internet.

Now someone get that dancing lock.
Well, it's almost 1 AM Central. Looks like you lost that battle, Eh?:p

Moving on, this is the internet. This is where some people will wipe their ass with anything, and others will read the toilet paper package 5 times, then call thier customer service line to ask what kind of cotton was used and where it was grown.

I take alot of things I see on here with a grain of salt. If Hyde's telling the truth, great. If he's lying, oh well. There's no need to jump him though and demand proof either way.

Sounds good. GTPlanet is perhaps one of the biggest message boards on GT on the Internet, maybe the biggest PERIOD. So having to read through gripes and such about Japan's GT4 kind of has some of us Americans wanting a lot out GT4 (not to sound greedy, of course). And if all the stuff Hyde posted at the beginning sounds cool, it seems like some disappointed GT fans might have something to smile about. I didn't read any other comments, but any word on maybe having the Caterhams racing against other cars?

Those were my first impressions as well. You probably won't want to read any of the other comments.

Hyde, do you even LIKE GT4? Now that I've read some of the other comments, this may just be an April Fool thread. An April Fool in January. At least that other thread with very little English talent was more amusing. All I can say is, if you don't like GT4 and have anything good to contribute, don't make "disposable threads" like this one is turning out to be.

And Mrkt, I'm kind of glad I didn't see the other posts after thinking about this one. But if you didn't tell me about that, I probably wouldn't know. So, thanks man.

Sure thing... and by the way, were you referring to my thread when you said "At least that other thread with very little English talent was more amusing."??? :nervous: :scared:

there's no way he has a friend that just happens to be playing a single layer version of the "final" game, it's just bullcrap, PD wouldn't risk having a near final version in single layer in the first place, because it would be a huge piracy risk, it's double layer that will guarantee it won't get pirated for a while.

All games on PS2 when in Test are single layer, when you submit the game to Sony you send 2 discs. One with layer 0 and one with layer 1. The only time you ever get a dual layer disc is when Sony master it, it is as simple as that.

Bug - Evo VIII FQ - Nurburgring - In a replay the rearward facing bumper cam is placed too low so it clips through the floor.

That's interesting... how do you know this for certain?

Here's a simple fix..if you dont beleive him dont post here. Its just a waste of time. I just dont like when people already say nah u dont have that or nah u dont know that. You dont even know the person outside this place so how can YOU say he knows or doesnt know someone. I dont know if he's telling the truth or not, and who really gives a ****. Like I said if you dont beleive him, why even bother posting?? ..

But just incase he does know that person....he must tell them about these bugs NOW!! because look at GT2 and that completion bug. And if you cant race the fireblade againts other cars, how do you get to drive it????!?!?!

bugs and errors in the Japanese version of the game should be fixed by now, and seriously, I doubt they have the opportunity to fix anything before the release in US or EU.. we'll see, but I think there will be minor differences between the 3 versions.. although I'd like to see the option to save mid-race in endurances when released as PAL..

You guys are all forgeting one simple fact...........

Games are beta tested on SINGLE layer dvds........except they are missing the software that allows them to stand alone............in other words, a HUGE chunk of the stand alone source code required to run the game is MISSING.

That means that it CANNOT play on a standard system EVEN if someone "hacks" the game because half of the programming is isn't even there.

There is only ONE way to play a game such as this............A Debug Unit or a Dev Kit.

Dev kits are the kits that they use to create the games with and Debug units are the units that contain the coding needed that is missing from the game in order to run............And they are only given out to TRUSTED employee's.
Not to mention the fact that dev kits run about 20-50 grand and debug units about 2-5 grand. There was once someone who tried to sell a debug unit on ebay......he's in jail now.......for 7 years.
Not to mention that as I said before, EVEN IF THE GAME IS STOLEN AND "hacked" IT WILL NOT PLAY BECAUSE THERE IS A MAJOR SECTION OF CODING MISSING. It doesn't matter who has the game, they still won't have files required to run it.

End of topic. Why are we still talking about this?

If anyone has questions regarding Debug units, how they work, and what they are for, as well as how they create the games, let me know. I'll provide.

Good observation. It's nice to see that someone is knowledgeable about this, because I certainly aren't ;). That Dev kit/bug kit idea makes cense.

It's freaking almost five in the morning... I've been doing homework all night... cheers everyone... [yawn]

Edit again: I can't even think right. This is time #3 that I went back to correct a typo...

i wanna see more than just one version of F1... i mean, it's not really hard to change some parts and make it a different car, they don't have to model it from scratch

not the opportunity???
28 february 2005 - 28 decembre 2004 = 3 months, lets say 14 days shipping time = 76 days, - 10 debug/completion days = 66 days

Common guys, do i have to go back again :sly: and make everything work there?
