Grid now completely out of the top 40 in only it's 3rd week, While Forza released 9 months ago is still in. I'd be amazed if Codies ever go back to Grid now...Which might not be a bad thing a proper new ip racer is what could kickstart codies fortunes again.

Just went and checked the charts and GAS is ranked 21st in it's first week globally with 26.000 sales (all platforms), where do you get that "completely out of the top 40" from?:

http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41819/Global/

GT and FM are bigger franchises so you won't have the general gamer crowd buying it en masse.
As long as the people that enjoy racing games get to own this little jewel that will be a good enough revival for the GRID series by itself.

I will recommend this game whenever i can, and i hope others will do the same with their friends.

You really do seem intent on creating a bad vibe don't you? What have you got against Grid/Codemasters? Why continue to just make negative comments about how the game is performing?

Also, as @mister dog said.... where are you getting your info from? VGChartz also isn't a very reliable source of information.

VGChartz has you guys 21st (see my post above i edited it), he looked at the US chart and there it's ranked 55th in it's 1st week but with no sales numbers mentioned.

Anyway i don't bloody care about the numbers, doesn't prove 0 about the quality of this game.

All formats charts (including PS4, PS3, XBoxONE, Xbox360, PC, Wii, Wii U etc) has us at 20

http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110015

Considering that's ALL platforms.... I don't think that's too bad at all. Not great either admittedly.... but it's certainly not out of the top 40.

Codemasters games have never really done well in US.... so looking at the US charts isn't really going to give you anything.

PS3 sitting at No 9.... http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110031

Xbox sitting at No 13.. https://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110027

Having seen all sorts of niche racing games all but disappear on console, I can't tell you how much I appreciate guys like Codemasters continuing to offer their games in a market heavily geared towards shooters, casual games and movie tie-ins and not the many forms of Motorsport. I'll always love Forza, enjoy a bit of GT and give NFS a chance, but not for the rest of my days. I need games like GAS to continue and long may that be the case.

Is there available an exact number of Grid Autosport sales across all platforms?

EDIT: Seems I found it, never mind.

In a heartbeat my friend, in a heartbeat! 👍

Sales figures shown on the internet are extremely sketchy to say the least.

Exactly. I REALLY don't care what sales figures say.

I'm enjoying the game immensely as is every racing nut I've run into.

Gosh, yanked the words right out my mouth and posted them here in bold! Except for that NFS part at the end.. I will most likely always detest the NFS games! :boggled:

Codies are no.1 in my books. I cannot WAIT to see what these guys have up their racing sleeves for future current-gen titles.

I love Forza too, and until GA came along, I used to play nothing but Forza (and on occasions, Dirt 3).. but man O man, GA made me a believer..this late in last-gen, a motorsport game comes along with all the adrenaline and excitement that SHOULD be present in each and every racing and sim title.

Too bad you're not getting as much fun and pleasure out of this game as the others.

Please stop playing it. There, issue resolved. Thanks!

No not VG Charts but the official GFK charts. As posted above. Also im not intent on creating a bad vibe at all i think Codies should take the positive out of this and move on away from Grid as while Grid was a good game joe public have clearly lost interest in it.

Driveclub & Horizon 2 are on the way which i think will sell alot on XO & PS4, You guys have to move on rather than beating a dead horse platform and ip wise and most importantly for you's...business wise.

Who cares about how its doing in the charts if we are all playing it and liking it?!

well said :D

Also.... how is the Grid franchise a 'dead horse'?

Race Driver Grid had/has a huge following

Grid 2 didn't appeal to the 'hardcore' fans.... but it certainly isn't without it's fans.

Grid Autosport appears to be doing well and has been given a lot of praise by the fans.

It's not like all 3 have been flops and everyone hates them. Look at this thread alone.... there's still a lot of love for Grid... and long may it continue I say :)

If a game does not sell then whats the chances of carrying on getting games? Without sales how can Codies carry on?

I dont think the sales can be anywhere near as good as you'd hoped for. Getting outsold by Forza 5 in the UK which is your main market?...cannot be good. ...New Ip/fresh start for XO/PS4 is needed unless your business model revolves around praise from fans.

Well, so far I'm loving Grid. The racing is outstanding compared to Gran Turismo. The only 2 things I dislike so far is the small lack of a story and the White lines rule at one of the circuits. Only two! There's about 50 things wrong with GT!

Nice; you are advising them to step away from the franchise just when they released their best racing game yet... If you still own a PS3 or 360 i'd advise you to try it out one evening and enjoy the experience, instead of acting sour because it's not released on a next gen console and you happen to own one.

Yes move on by copying what all the rest does and make another driveclub/ horizon game, that will surely help those sales...

Come on.....The games been out less than a month..... it's way to early to tell if the game has achieved what we wanted or not. The success of a game isn't measured by it's week 1 sales figures.... there's much more to it than that.

If it was on week 1 sales, then I've worked on one of the best games ever! State of Emergency. But in fact.... that game was panned... big time. But week 1 sales were through the roof.

It's not all about those week 1 sales.

Anyway.... time to move on I think...

I would be amazed if GAS is Codies best racing game yet infact i know it isnt.

I didnt say copy those games...but what is the point on continuing with Grid if it doesnt sell which it clearly hasnt. New ip will spark interest. Codies have been an amazing British dev through my lifetime i want to be able to keep playing Codies games rather than see them shut but if they continue down the road they have (360/PS3 has been the worst Codies games in any gen) rather than innovate i fear for them i really do. Grid has never been a truly wonderful magical experience why not drop it and try to make that game.

The game is in it's 3rd week not week 1, When is it you expect a sales hike? Maybe that will happen i'l keep an eye on the charts but i just dont see it. Maybe once the price drops to around £15 it might shift huge amounts but i think those that want GAS would of went out and bought it rather than waiting for a price drop.

This is talk of someone that didn't play GAS so far it's obvious. Shame you have to bite that cookie because you don't own a last gen console anymore, but just wait until the sequel comes out on PS4/Xbone then in a year or two so you can judge for yourself where the series is heading, instead of spreading doom scenarios here on something you haven't experienced yet ;)

It's difficult for anyone outside Codies to say this game is doing poorly, we don't know what the budget for this title was. You can't compare the sales figures for GRID Autosport to a game with potentially three times the expenditure before it was released, for instance.

What really matters is that those who purchased GRID Autosport are satisfied with what they paid for, and judging by the general reception, that seems to be the case. Codemasters are not sell-outs, they actually care about what their fans want, even if it is a very niche market.

After trading in six games including NFS Rivals on the XBO, I paid a grand total of 14p for a standard copy :). Don't worry though it's easily worth full price and the only reason I didn't is because I'm moving in to a house next week and money is tight...

Im gona skip Driveclub because GRID AS is that good

pcars is the only reason to get a PS4, in my opinion..
